Homan Auto Sales, Inc.

Definitely not pleased with my experience with Homan Auto. I found a vehicle on Cars.com and contacted the dealer directly, via email. I work very long hours, during the day (email is the only way I can communicate), so I was pleased that I was contacted promptly and thought this would be a pleasant and quick sales experience. I was ready to buy the vehicle, at the full asking price Homan Auto wanted, with one request. The vehicle I was looking at had third row seat inserts, but no third row seat. I have a family of four, and when I explained to the salesperson that I was looking for a vehicle with a third row seat, they responded with a "I'm sorry, the vehicle was traded in like that. However, I can put you in touch with someone that will sell the seat to you. Cost would be an additional $600". When I then responded to the salesperson and stated that I would still be willing to pay the full asking price, if they would simply accommodate the third row seat, they just responded and told me that they went ahead and sold the vehicle to another person that offered the full asking price. I then explained to the salesperson that I was not pleased with my experience, and that I was willing to pay the full asking price, if they simply accommodated the third row for me and my family.
I definitely felt as though I was not treated with any respect in our conversation, or that my one and only request with the vehicle was actually taken into real consideration. I felt like they treated this as an auction, and even though I was ready to buy the vehicle (if they installed the third row seat), they stalled and just waited for someone else to come along, so they could get exactly what "they" wanted. What ever happened to helping the first person that came through the door (regardless of wanting to purchase it via email, over the phone, or in person)?
The salesperson that I spoke with also sent me a very long, lecturing email, telling me they were personally "irked" that I gave them feedback that wasn't anything but positive. It was very, VERY unprofessional on the salesperson's part, and made me feel like I was being personally attacked instead being treated in a professional and courteous manner. Had the salesperson actually made any real professional attempt to simply follow up and offer to try and find me a vehicle that would match my desire, I would have considered still purchasing a vehicle from Homan Auto.
Like any business, I am sure Homan has had customers with very good buying experiences. However, I definitely had a very poor and negative experience, and I WILL NOT be purchasing anything from Homan Auto now, or in the future. Hopefully, this review will help buyers and Homan Auto alike.
