On July 15th we did install a wire shelf as the complaint says An invoice was provided the customer at that time and they paid the invoice on the 18th by calling in a visa number If anything was a problem they had every chance to let us know and we would have taken care of the problem
immediately Once they determined that the shelf was not mounted high enough, August 11th, *** called me and we went over the options We could either replace the shelf with a narrower 9" deep shelf and re-use most of the holes or we could use the existing shelf and raise it which would leave all of the holes They decided to go for the first option of replacing the 12" shelf with a 9" shelf at an additional cost of $ We even agreed that since they had to pay that we would mount the 12" shelf somewhere else so they could make use of it We were very booked up so we had to push the appointment out until August 19th a week later On August 16th, I happened to be out of town and one of my employees called me very upset that *** had called and wanted to change the appointment date but was very mean and started in about how bad we were and that he was going to report us to the Revdex.comI immediately called *** and asked what the problem was He started in about us installing the shelf incorrectly and that we needed to pay to have the wall repaired etc He was very short I simply decided to fire them as customers and told him he would have to find a new closet company I do not have time for people like this and frankly I believe that if anyone reads this that knows this person, they will take it for what it is worth In my mind, we served this customer as well as any other customer we have served in the past years As for the fact that *** told our installer where to mount the shelf, I asked him and he said that he held the shelf up over the sink and moved it up and down until she liked the height *** never inquired about anything He simply demanded and used a strong tone Regardless of the outcome of this inquiry, they will still have to find another closet company
Thank you,
Jim E***

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Regarding our installation of a shelf above our utility room sink… My wife told the installer, who was my height, to install the shelf so that he could stand over the tub and not hit his head. I noticed the shelf seemed not high enough when I got home that evening but decided to try it out. Thus we did not immediately let them know there was an issue. After hitting my head several times in about two weeks, we called to have the shelf fixed
I had to reschedule the appointment and explained to the receptionist the issue. She occurred very early in the morning. She was very pleasant and understood my concerns. There was no demanding or harsh tone. She said she would have Jim call me back. Jim stated he immediately called back, which he did not. Jim called when I was with my wife at lunch. Upon answering the phone Jim immediately said I would have to find another shelf installer. I could barely get a word in. Jim stated my wife put her finger on the wall and said to put the shelf there. Jim told me I was not there and could not know what happened. I was about to hand the phone to my wife when he hung up. Jim was very rude to put it mildly
Upon learning Home Beautifiers was a member of the Revdex.com I called and spoke with the receptionist again. This was the first time any mention of making a complaint to the Revdex.com came up. She again was very understanding and said she would speak with Jim. Jim never called back
We feel the main issue is that we are not contractors bringing repeat business. Had we been contractors we do not feel we would have been treated this way. We only wanted one shelf installedCustomers should not be treated this way
Sincerely,*** ***

We could go back and forth all day as to what was said and done? The fact is that we had everything taken care of and were going to change the shelf to a 9" deep to solve the problem of *** hitting his head? At no time before *** called on the 16th was there a word said about us being at fault for the height of the first shelf? As I said, we had even agreed on the price and that we would put the existing shelf to good use? Everything was handled and if *** had not called on the 16th the shelf would have been replaced and everything would be done? We would have applied spackle to the holes that would have been left exposed? They would have simply had to put a quick coat of paint over these areas? Situation handled and everyone happy
since I was not present for the conversations with my employees, I have let them read this conversation and both our salesperson Lareina (not receptionist) and our installer Eric do not recall the same conversations that *** does? And by the way, I am positive that I did not call *** a liar? *** was the first one to ask if I was present at the time of *** and Eric's height conversation and I responded by asking "were you?"?
Lareina says that when *** called he needed to change the appointment so that he could be present and he didn't think he should have to miss work because of our screwupHe said he was very dissatisfied with our service and that if he needed to, he would contact the Revdex.com Attorney or something to that matter? She cannot remember exactly if the Revdex.com was in the first conversation or later in the day? Regardless, he continued rambling on about how unhappy he was? She informed him that I was out of town but went ahead and changed the appointment to accommodate him*** called back a couple if not a few times that same day even to let her know that I had hung up on him? At some times he was pleasant and said he had no beef with her at other times he threatened action such as the Revdex.com or even picketing the store on Saturdays(He also threatened me with picketing and I told him to knock himself out.) ?
Eric says that there was never a conversation about height and thought that would be a stupid way of determining a shelf height anyway and nearly impossible to accomplish? He says the height was determined by *** which is in line with his instruction as *** and I had discussed the height prior to his installation appointment? In fact our conversation was about the shelf being worth $and that if I came out to measure ahead of time that there would be an additional $trip charge? We agreed that she would show the installer where they wanted it at the time of the installation?
I only hung up on *** after he would not quit going on about how bad we were and everything he was going to do in retaliation? There was no way I was ever going to make him happy
