Home Care Assistance of Scottsdale was hired for 24 hour in home care for my parents. Home Care Assistance placed a convicted felon in my parents home for approximately 4 months before I discovered this information. This Home Care Assistance employee was found guilty of Embezzlement/fraud of elder or dependent adult by caretaker and had a warrant out for her arrest.
A night shift employee of Home Care Assistance left before the day shift employee arrived leaving my parents alone for a period of time. Unacceptable in my opinion when the company was hired for 24 hour home care.
I have documented proof of both of these issues.
There were other disturbing issues that took place during the 4 months Home Care Assistance employees were in my parents home. I am not going into detail about these issues because after reporting the issues it always ended up being my word against the Home Care Assistance employee's word. I was told later by the Home Care Assistance owner that one of their employees admitted that she lied to them about one of these issues.
I’m sorry to hear that our previous conversations did not resolve these concerns to your satisfaction. Anytime a client has had a bad experience, we strive to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible.
In response to your comments about us placing a convicted felon with your parents:
As discussed in prior conversations, the background check we relied upon (and which renews monthly) did not reflect the same information identified in your Google Search. That being said, while we were investigating the information you provided against our own clean background check for this employee, we promptly replaced the caregiver in question. We would never knowingly put someone with a criminal history to work with one of our clients. We have performed background checks on all of the over 650+ caregivers we have hired over nearly 6 years (who have provided over 370,000 hours of caregiving services to our clients). At the time services were terminated with our company, all 3 caregivers working with your parents had a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card through the State of Arizona. The last we had spoken with your parents and your siblings, they did not want services to terminate. They were happy with the 3 caregivers working with your parents. We attempted to provide you with a copy of the background check information we had on file, and we still invite you to come to our office to review it at your convenience.
In response to your comments about the one caregiver leaving before the other arrived:
I agree that this should not have happened. I believe it was about 90 minutes that your parents were left unattended. If our previous apologies were not sufficient, please accept our apologies once again. The issue was rectified internally.
In response to your comments about one of the caregivers lying:
If I’m remembering correctly, this incident involved a caregiver lying that she wasn’t sick when she actually was. Once again, please accept our apologies. The employee referenced was reprimanded.
