I almost finished their "curriculum for living" until half way through their self expression and leadership program, I started to realize what this company and this ideology is aboutAlong with this, I want to say what was the most evil thing about this program that lead to me going through their entire programThey successfully transformed me from someone with a clear outlook on life, into someone that had no idea what reality was (or as they say "not knowing the difference between your a** and a hole in the ground")They claim that they are NOT concerned with what you think about the world, or what your personal beliefs are, but rather just to "try it on" what they are preachingThis lead me to accept one thing that I had conflicting ideas with after another, and I did it because in doing so I was being a "bigger person" and that I was living in my "possibilities" now instead of what the past dictated of meThe problem is, this IS a belief, and a certain philosophy of lifeThey destroy your views on life, which must be based on the past since that is where all of our knowledge has to come from (and learning in the present as well), into something that has to only be in the moment regardless of what logic or reason may dictateI call this "whim worshiping"Worship only the things that seem important in the immediate moment just from passive feeling, or as they call it "what's so" or "just what's there" without the "burden" of the pastSure, you may have some nasty things in the past, but they will not be solved by just blanking it out and thinking you can make a new you without really understanding the reason of why things happenedThis is where they come out with the idea of your "possibilities", which is basically the feel good whim of the momentThis is the "avoid reality and make up your own" program essentiallySounds nice, right? But think about the cost of giving up what you so dearly value just so you can get your wayBy preaching sacrifice at the expense of your own values, virtues, and moral code they insert their beliefs of pragmatism and whim worshiping to give you the feel good moments that people wantIt is manipulative and immoralNow, they do mention a few things about you past, but it is all about the past defining who you are in the present moment and then trying to eliminate that past so that you can get back to whim worshipingMost of it is relating your past as a child to how you relate to things in the present momentI can certainly see how there is some rationality behind thisUnfortunately, this light of reason is not long lived as it is ultimately brought back to the whim worshipingThey use your past as a tool to say that you are being inauthentic in life because of your misfortune or irrational choices as a childPerhaps this is true, but it is no excuse to say that the past should be eliminated for the sake of your "possibilities"If you can surrender reason, then you will have an easy time in this philosophy (call it a cult if you life, it is a certain philosophy rooted in pragmatism)But I urge you not to fall into this trap of pragmatism, group-think, collectivism, and irrationality
