Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 9, 2016/10/31) */ This is a response in regards to our procedures of our anti-theft security system being activated at point of exitOur theft system detected a security device that had not been deactivatedWhenever this happens customers are asked to please come back into the store so we can figure out what is setting off our alarmWe then use a wand to go over areas an which are thought to contain a sensorUnfortunately this is a procedure that is put into effect to protect our vendors who suffer large amounts of loss due to shopliftingIn the case at hand there was a sensor that was found that had not been deactivated from another businessOur goal is to always handle these situations as quickly and discreetly as possible which takes the cooperation of our customersWe are sorry that you feel you were unjustly treated but we perform the same procedure without complaint with customers who understand a business cannot survive if anti-theft systems are not put into place Obviously, our system worked when we caught the uncleared sensor from another store It is our recommendation that you try to be sure all items are cleared at the register when you are paying for your merchandise at all businessesWe will not be refunding money for your purchase because you received your items

I reached out to the customer and tried to tell her again that her house had space sheeting and there is no other way to do the roof without using the OSB boardShe hung up on me and is obviously difficult to deal withIt seems that she just doesn't want to pay for the wood and is
accusing us of doing it just to collect the moneyAs we would like is to be paid for the wood we installed that is written in the contract at the $per sheetAlso we have no problem going back and removing the soil stack if necessaryWe also do have a permit and can provide a copyIt is obvious by reputation that we don't try to do unnecessary services for Unnecessary reasons

I am rejecting this response because: I will accept this part of the requested resolution only when the work is done and approved by Thursday 8/The salesman, Rob, texted me today and let me know they will wrap up then If it does wrap up to my satisfaction, I will follow upUntil then, the complaint is, unfortunately, outstanding. We ordered material and discovered that we were short square feet of material and upon discovery immediately ordered the extra material and are having it shipped at an extra cost to get the material by the end of the week, 8/5/16. At this time we are not going to charge the customer for the extra material necessary to complet the project

I called and the homeowner wouldn't let me get a word in and abruptly hung upShe was short and rude It's obvious they don't want to pay for the woodWe have pictures to support our position and have taken legal actionWe have 23,customers and we never had anyone not pay for plywoodIt's hard to tell on older homes if it's a resheet until it's torn offIf we would have only replaced and seemed in wood the cost was a square foot which is in her contract would have been more costly

Our goal is to always handle these situations as quickly and discreetly as possible which takes the cooperation of our customers. Obviously, our system worked when we caught the uncleared sensor from another store.

I am rejecting this response because:we have paid our contract in full. Home Exteriors has not completed the work as contracted. We welcome an outside party to review this and determine what is fair.

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. M[redacted] called me and was yelling, rude and verbally abusive. I disconnected the call because it obviously was not moving toward resolution and I will not be yelled at and verbally abused. To add to the confusion generated by this company, they sent a third statement that doesn't reflect either of our positions as to what is owed, or not owed.The permit was filed for and received on April 3, 2017, two weeks AFTER the work was completed and AFTER we had been issued a citation by the city and AFTER we had to make several calls to get the issue resolved. Mr. M[redacted] said it was an "oversight".The shoddy carpentry work to the eaves has not been corrected. The soil pipe has not been removed.Regarding the 45 sheets of OSB board - after viewing our security cameras we saw that 45 sheets of OSB arrived at our home around 9am the morning work began. Their salesman called me around 10am to say we would require "a few more sheets of OSB", to which I replied "So a couple hundred more dollars, ok that's fine." He never said there would be 45 sheets. This exceeded the scope of our contract by close to $2000. We never would have agreed to this. It was not until days after, after the sheets had already been applied and the roofing almost finished that the salesman informed me it was 45 sheets. The salesman (with "39 years of experience") knew our house was 130+ years old. He knew it had old style sheeting because not only did I tell him, I invited him to view the roof from underneath from the storage area. Yet they claim they did not know the roof would require 45 sheets of new sheeting, not because anything was wrong with the sheeting underneath (there was't) but because they claim they could not apply the roofing materials to the existing sheeting because there were gaps. If they have "39 years of experience" they should have known another option would be to rip sheeting to fill those gaps. But no, according to them they were surprised to learn the existing sheeting was old style (on a 130+ year old house) and their only solution was to recite the entire house at a cost to us of an additional $2000. AND they somehow knew to order those 45 sheets (note they brought the exact amount to recite the entire house) and have them there on Monday morning.  This is called a scam. It begs credulity.

nothing short of dismissive about the service I have had. I asked him to communicate through you.  He is now text bombing me in some kind of an attempt to show professionalism- it is backfiring. I have asked him to stop and to communicate through the Revdex.com. Please put this in the file. Thank you and apologies for all the traffic on this today.
