Review: We were purchasing our first home and made the mistake of using our realtors Home Inspector. She told us that he was credible and honest and he would take his time. We believed her and believed that we were getting a thorough home inspection. His report showed that the house was in "MINT" condition and we needed to do just a few minor things. GFI outlets, change lighting, etc.

Upon moving into our home and doing renovations, we found several issues with our Home Inspection that Home Inspection Associates did not uncover.

Asbestos, Structural Termite Damage, Electrical not grounded properly, dog urine soaked floors, 30 year old central air but told it was 15 years old, gutters not pitched properly, roof had no flashing. This is just highlight the major issues in the house. Had we known about these issues, we would have never purchased the home.Desired Settlement: We would like a financial settlement for all the repairs we needed to do to the house, up to over $40,000.

We attempted to sue said business for their negligence but their insurance company denied the claim because we signed off on a waiver basically saying that we couldn't sue for damages. I plan on seeking further settlement. But I feel that he not only was he unethical, but he helped make the sale of the house and is most likely receiving money from the realtor that sold the house to us. I wouldn't doubt that this is continuing. I am filing a formal complaint with [redacted] as well against the realtor. They took advantage of a first time home buyers excitement and trust.
