Initial Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2017/05/02) */
I was contacted by [redacted] to get quotes for several items at the [redacted] asked me to quote to repair or remove the garbage disposer- the seller did not want to pay for a new one. On 9/22/2016 we sent our technician to the...

home to make the repairs. It was determined on site that the garbage disposer was not repairable so he removed it according to our proposal. Several other items were repaired- see the attachments. Several weeks later I received a call from [redacted], stating the water handle was leaking. We sent our technician back to the house the next morning(10/13/2016). Upon arrival the technician determined that someone has made additional "repairs" to the shower faucet. He went to buy a replacement valve for the shower handle but the item was discontinued. The service tech explained the part was not longer available and that the faucet should be replaced. [redacted] declined to replace the faucet-" she did not have the money right now". The technician replaced the inner seal and got the faucet to stop leaking- he explained that this was a temporary repair and that the faucet should be replaced soon. [redacted] has made 0 attempts to contact our office over the past 5 months-so we had no reason to believe she was still having issues. It is clear from Faiths statements that she is confused about what we were there to do. I believe we have made every possible effort to help [redacted], and can not be held responsible when she declined our recommendation to replace the faucet. I would also like to reiterate that several weeks went by from the initial repair until 10/12/2016 when [redacted] contacted me about the leaking faucet, and several months have passed since we repaired the faucet on 10/13/2016. [redacted] has made 0 attempts to contact us, why should I be held responsible for her confusion and negligence.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 23, 2017/06/01) */
I did not have anyone come out and make “additional repairs” to the faucet. Why would I have someone else come out and fix the leak when the seller already hired HomeSource for the job. I should not have to pay for a new faucet, the estimate was to repair the faucet. The business was supposed to do a walkthrough of my home, as stated in the email between the business and Mr. Palmer before giving an estimate. They should have noticed the age of the faucet during the walkthrough and found out if the faucet or replacement parts were still being manufactured before stating in the estimate that the faucet could be repaired. Because the repair was part of a real estate sale they put in a low estimate to be chosen for the job. If they would have done their research they would have been able to state in the estimate the true cost of the job and that the faucet would need to be replaced due to no parts being manufactured. If the estimate would have been accurate from the beginning then the seller of the home would have paid for the appropriate means to complete the job. Now because the company stated they could repair the faucet and were unable to, I am left with unfinished jobs that I was never supposed to pay for in the sale of the home.
The seller’s realtor had to come out to the house and contact HomeSource because the company refused to return to finish the job after I contacted them at their office. The business stated they would not return to correct the problems unless they were paid by funds set aside in the real estate transaction. Since I was left with leaking faucets I could not repair myself and because I was told they would only return if they were given the check from the loan officer I paid them. Since the realtor had to convince the company to come out the second time and they had already been paid, they had to reason or incentive to return a third time. So instead of contacting the company and trying to convince them to come out when they would not listen to me when I said the repairs were leaking the first time I contacted the Revdex.com instead for help with the matter.
When the company offered to replace the faucet that was not an attempt to help ameliorate the problem. It was an option that would have cost me money I was not supposed to front and give them more business. I declined replacing the faucet because that was not part of the real estate deal where everything was supposed to be corrected and fixed as part of the sale of the home. Yes, I did contact the company several weeks after the first repair. I had not moved into the residence yet, but the first time I came back to the house to check on the repairs the second bathroom was flooded and I immediately contacted the company. I was not negligent in any way, repairs were done on a house for sale that I had not yet moved into.
I am also not confused on what was supposed to be completed as part of the estimate. I have attached my copy of the estimate which clearly states that the garbage disposal would be replaced. What is printed on my estimate should have been completed as stated. Now the company has changed their version of the estimate to say remove or repair. This is proof that they do not complete jobs as promised or they are negligent/fraudulent in stating what will or can be done.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 25, 2017/06/06) */
did not have anyone come out and make “additional repairs” to the faucet. Why would I
have someone else come out and fix the leak when the seller already hired HomeSource for the
job. I should not have to pay for a new faucet, the estimate was to repair the faucet. We did
repair the faucet, as estimated, we did not estimate to replace the faucet. The business was
supposed to do a walkthrough of my home, as stated in the email between the business and Mr.
Palmer before giving an estimate. They should have noticed the age of the faucet during the
walkthrough and found out if the faucet or replacement parts were still being manufactured
before stating in the estimate that the faucet could be repaired. Because the repair was part of a
real estate sale they put in a low estimate to be chosen for the job. Our estimate reflected the cost
to replace the seal, which is what we did, this is a standard price for this type of job. If they
would have done their research they would have been able to state in the estimate the true cost of
the job and that the faucet would need to be replaced due to no parts being manufactured. If the
estimate would have been accurate from the beginning then the seller of the home would have
paid for the appropriate means to complete the job. Now because the company stated they could
repair the faucet and were unable to, I am left with unfinished jobs that I was never supposed to
pay for in the sale of the home.
The seller’s realtor had to come out to the house and contact HomeSource because the
company refused to return to finish the job after I contacted them at their office. The business
stated they would not return to correct the problems unless they were paid by funds set aside in
the real estate transaction. The new owner failed to pay us for several weeks prior to when the
leak “re- appeared” - see her statement below that says she had not been to the house for three
weeks- why was she avoiding us and why did she not forward payment. Since I was left with
leaking faucets I could not repair myself and because I was told they would only return if they
were given the check from the loan officer I paid them. Since the realtor had to convince the
company to come out the second time and they had already been paid, they had to reason or
incentive to return a third time. When you called us- we sent a guy the very next morning, and
merely asked for payment for services rendered. So instead of contacting the company and trying
to convince them to come out when they would not listen to me when I said the repairs were
leaking the first time I contacted the Revdex.com instead for help with the matter.
When the company offered to replace the faucet that was not an attempt to help
ameliorate the problem. It was an option that would have cost me money I was not supposed to
front and give them more business. I declined replacing the faucet because that was not part of
the real estate deal where everything was supposed to be corrected and fixed as part of the sale of
the home. Yes, I did contact the company several weeks after the first repair. I had not moved
into the residence yet, but the first time I came back to the house to check on the repairs the
second bathroom was flooded and I immediately contacted the company. And we showed up the
next morning. I was not negligent in any way, repairs were done on a house for sale that I had
not yet moved into.
I am also not confused on what was supposed to be completed as part of the estimate. I
have attached my copy of the estimate which clearly states that the garbage disposal would be
replaced. I do not see this supposed estimate attached, and I have attached all applicable
documents with time stamps- which proves the documents were not altered. What is printed on
my estimate should have been completed as stated. Now the company has changed their version
of the estimate to say remove or repair. This is proof that they do not complete jobs as promised
or they are negligent/fraudulent in stating what will or can be done. Your statements are falseand
are slander- the punishment for slander is a civil lawsuit and financial damages. I demand a
printed retraction of the defamatory statement.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 27, 2017/06/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Response
The faucet was supposed to be repaired. It was not adequately repaired. The estimate says nothing about only replacing the seal, only that the issue would be fixed.
I was not the responsible party for allocating the funds nor writing the checks. Since this was part of purchasing a home I was instructed to not pay unless the work had been finished correctly by the loan officer as part of the housing contract. I ended up paying before the job was adequately done because I needed them to come out again and actually fix the faucet which they had not done because it was still leaking. They refused to come out until they were paid. I was not avoiding the business, it is typical to only pay after the work is correctly completed. Also, I was not living in the home yet because it was a new purchase.
I have already attached the documentation to the Revdex.com website which has all information and dates. It is clearly posted as More info received from the consumer (05/31/2017).
Actually, slander is a spoken statement while libel is written. A person cannot be punished for libel if the statements are true.
