Review: I started receiving the [redacted] either back in March or April of this year. There were numerous delivery issues, not receiving the paper, getting billed for a paper for 7 days that we only got 5 of the 7 days that we were being charged. I finally called [redacted] customer service and said that I have had enough of their crappy service, and demanded a refund. On 07/12/2013 [redacted] did refund $14.64 back into my checking account. They were trying to keep me by paying for a month free, however I refused. Now today 07/15/2013 Home News Tribune debited my checking account $6.69, however they are not delivering The Home News Tribune, I am still getting the [redacted], against my wishes. My husband had also told Home News Tribune to debt the bank card on 08/03/2013. being that is when his [redacted] check goes in. That is not the case being they debited the $6.69 today way ahead of time. I do not wish to have them take monies when the service is not to my satisfaction, and I have left them messages on the phone that the service was not satisfactory, however they did not return any of my calls.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 7/27/13:

I am getting fed-up and disgusted with the Home News Tribune. Prior to getting the Home News Tribune I was getting the [redacted] delivered which was a total nightmare in regards to not getting the paper, giving me another paper etc. and [redacted] was charging me $20.00 a month for [redacted] service. When the Home News Tribune called back in June and asked me if I had stopped my paper for the [redacted] I told them no, however my husband went out this particular day and no paper was there. It was right then and there that I told them I no longer wanted the [redacted] paper delivered. Home News told me they had a better deal 7 day delivery for $11.00 a month. Of course I grabbed this Special and called [redacted] to have them cancel services. They were a little pushy and wanted to keep me for a month free. I declined, saying if it is the same carrier I do not trust that there would be more problems and I told the [redacted] I had already engaged in the Home News delivery for $11.00 a month vs $20.00 a month. The [redacted] refunded back my bank $14.00 and change, and Home News Tribune took out $6.69 partial payment for the month of June. Now today Sat 07/27/2013 I did not receive the Home News Tribune, which is the paper I am paying for. I get 2 [redacted] papers both for Sat 07/27/2013. duplicates. I left a message today saying I did not receive the proper paper, however being a Sat I could not speak to a live representative. I believe the [redacted] is playing sneaky just to get me back and charge against my debit card $20.00 and overriding the Home News Tribune which is what I am paying for and want instead.Desired Settlement: I want this resolved to my satisfaction and to delivery me the proper paper, or I told them I will not accept any papers coming to my home. this is the reason why I hate companies to have access to my checking account being they can go in and take monies whenever they feel like it, however if I do not have Autopay, Home News Tribune as well as the [redacted] charges more, being then they have to print out a paper bill, and they charge the customer more rather than just go into the customers checking account and take the monies out, but now I hate paying for a paper that I am not receiving.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 7/27/13:

I want my proper paper delivered to me 7 days a week which is the Home News Tribune not the [redacted]. If these [redacted] can't do a simple delivery. Then I will no longer want any paper delivered to my house. My mother who lives In [redacted] NJ gets the Home News Tribune without any problems for over 50 years. Why in the [redacted] do I have to have *Word Rejected*s that can't do their job right, and I am the one without a job, and these incumbent people do and still can't do a job right. Home News gets this corrected or they are out of here, and I will have the bank block my debit card for them using it for [redacted] service.

Desired Settlement: Delivery of Order

Review: Constantly having delivery issues, and when promised to get the missing paper with the next days issues, that never happens. Why should I have to pay $23.00, this is before credits to get service that is highly unsatisfactory. I have an 83 year old mother-in-law, that also lives in this same house, and at times when both me and my husband are not there, My mother-in-law goes wandering out there even in bad weather, and if she fell I could sue the Home News Tribune being I have also said that I want the paper more near the step or walk, that again is not being addressed. Either Home News Tribune and the lousy carrier shapes up, or my service with them ships out, and I will block my bank for having them paid. They always tell me to read the paper online. Its not the same, and my mother-in-law is not computer smarts. She wants the physical paperDesired Settlement: I am giving Home News Tribune till the middle of the week to get these many issues resolved, or the paper is cancelled, and I will not want any further issues delivered to me. The carrier and the Home News is a poor excuse for a service.

Response:

We are sorry to learn about the inconsistent delivery. The Home News Tribune is delivered by third party adult motor contractors to driveways, newspaper tubes or top of wheelchair ramps. There was a temporary contractor on the route. The regular contractor has returned and has agreed to accomodate the request for porch delivery, as long as weather and walkway conditions permit.

Review: I started a newspaper subscription with the Homes News Tribune late in 2013 which was supposed to end after the Holidays of 2013. I have always had problems with this newspaper delivery being that I live in a house with 9 other units. They assured me that this would not happen again and I re-started the subscription. I have also always been very specific on where the paper needed to be left. Again they assured me the carrier would leave the paper where I told them it needed to be left.

Once I stopped receiving the paper - I assumed the subscription had ended. Months later I notice that my Credit card was still being charged the $11.00 monthly fee for said newspaper. I was shocked - I hadn’t seen a newspaper for 7 months , but I was still being charged. The total was $84.00 for papers that I never received.

Not once did I get a letter or an email stating that my subscription was as automatic renewal. After calling customer service for a 3rd time - I was told they were not going to refund my money based on their 'investigation'. The carrier had stated that the newspaper was in fact being delivered to my home address. Where the carrier was putting this paper is a mystery to me. I never saw a paper!

I contacted customer service again and I was told that because I didn’t call to tell them I was having a problem – which I didn’t know I was having based on my assumption that the paper had stopped after December 2013 – they were not going to refund my money.Desired Settlement: To receive a refund for the total amont billed to my Credit card.

Review: I have been receiving the Home News Tribune for home delivery for the past month and a half as a new customer. Today at 8 am I never received my paper and I called the Home News Tribune to ask for another paper to be delivered out to my house. They said there would be one by 2 pm. In the meantime the carrier called my home, did not leave a message. I only knew he called because of my caller ID. When I called him back, he did not understand that he has to deliver another paper. I told him that is why I called the main office to have another brought out, I called back the Home News Tribune to complain to them why do they have carriers that do not understand directions They said if the first carrier misses me they have backup that comes out to redeliver, Well now the second "3rd party" did not do their part either, and to this time 3:16 pm never got my paper. and this was calling the office 3 times and calling the district manager [redacted], which makes 4 complaints in 1 day. I am on Social Security Disability, and paying $22.00 a month, and not getting my paper what I am paying for is a disgrace, and uncalled for. I will not tolerate this crappy service and if I have to stop receiving this paper because I don't get the paper anyway, so be it. Now I hope I will get Tues and Weds paper tomorrow June 11th. and not just 1. I have had this issue in the past as well.Desired Settlement: I want surperb delivery service with getting the Home News Tribune. If it can't be done, fire the it that can't follow directions, or I will take my business with another paper that I do not have to pay $22.00 a month, and get [redacted] service like I am getting now.

Response:

The Home News Tribune regrets the that the June 10 edition and the promised replacement copies were not delivered yesterday by the third-party vendor serving the Home News Tribune. We've placed one week courtesy credit on the subscriber's account, for the inconvenience she experienced. After speaking with [redacted] yesteray afternoon, [redacted] (who is the HNT General Manager/Editor and not a home delivery district manager ) forwarded her complaint to the circulation customer service manager, [redacted]. In case there was a new delivery contractor or substitute on the route yesterday, I asked if there was anything unusual about the address. [redacted] stated that there is another [redacted] Avenue approximately 200 feet from her house. Those directions were provided to the supervisor responsible for delivery in this neighborhood. We received confirmation that the June 10 edition was delivered with the June 11 edition to her porch this morning. Our current published rate for 7-day home delivery of the Home News Tribune is $35/month. [redacted] has a discounted rate of $22/month.
