In my line of work I see repairs to homes all the timeMaintenance is good home owning! Everyone
who owns a home understands that repairs are made as need arisesMr*** did not get
in
touch with me until about a year after he owned the propertyHe lived in this home for months before even he new of any issue with past repairs
My job as a home inspector is to report the condition of the home the day that I am on siteI would have reported a problem in my report if "the repair" was not working the day I was on siteOnce you open the walls the quality of the repair is exposedI cannot see behind walls (or under roofs)
I did give Mr*** the option for a refund with the condition that he sign a release and a release from licensed company who made the repairThe reason for this was NOT that I admitted faultThe reason for this is because it is much easier to refund than it is to have an unhappy customer who can take advantage of companies like the Revdex.com, etcwho can cause a company grief by negative reporting
However, after Mr*** admitted to me that SEVERAL times he has gotten a refund from a
home inspector, I changed my option! I decided that there must be a time that someone stands on the principals of "what is right," for myself and the other inspectors before me
years in business with good standing with the Revdex.com!

The fact that Jack W***'s explanation for lying is based on an incident that I told him happened years ago is just another sad glimpse into his transparently weak character
I am of course aware that he can not see through walls or see hidden damage(He keeps using this as an expanation although irrelevant.)
The damage that was pointed out to me buy contractors was clearly visible if he would have takien the time to look at the ceilings in both upstairs bathroomsTwo different contractors pointed out the repaired ceilings in the bathroomsBoth contractors both said any reputable or knowledgable house inspector should have noticed all the ceiling patchwork and looked into it
I do not believe the contractors had any personal vendetta against a house inspector they never metJack W***'s incompetence/ lack of knowledge ended up costing me thousands of dollars in repairs
Jack W***'s acknowledgement and willingness to make amends for his mistakes I thought showed class and integrity
However, going back on his word and avoiding my phone calls seems to show his true character
