Home Pro Roofing Reviews (2)

Review: At the end of March 2015 , I hire Home Pro Roofing LLC, to perform a tear off and new dimensional shingle replacement of my residential roof in Town of [redacted]. I signed a contract wit Home Pro Roofing, receiving a statement contract that I ordered Owens Corning Duration shingles with a Owens Corning System Advantage Warranty. The rep. known as "[redacted]", ,stated that he was qualified by Owens Corning to apply the above warranty, signed the contract, and told me that after the roofing was complete, he would mail in the paper work for the Owens Corning System Advantage Warranty. This is a 50 year warranty. The roofing was completed, a paid in full receipt was sent to me, showing that the contract included the above warranty. [redacted] told me it may take several months to receive my warranty from Owens Corning. 7 months now, several calls and still no warranty. Owens Corning has not even gotten the paper work from [redacted] as of 10-8-2015. I have called Home Pro Roofing at least 5 times and [redacted] has not called me back. As of 10-8-2015 I have faxed Owens Corning the paper work awaiting their answer.Desired Settlement: To receive my Owens Corning System Advantage Warranty

Review: Roofing was done in July 2015. Contract AND website state that landscaping is covered and protected. However, this didn't happen. I have pictures of shingles all over my plants and bushes. Three plants were mainly affected. Clean up was not sufficient. Boss came and picked up nails after the roof was done. Solar lantern was missing with no explanation. Tried to tell workers about covering plants and the only one who could understand English was picking up shingles in town. Greatly displeased with owner's response to the situation. I would not recommend this company to anyone! Last I checked, a contract was a legal document. If you don't fulfill your responsibilities, then why should I pay for a subpar job?Desired Settlement: In order for this situation to meet my satisfaction, I would like to receive a letter of apology from the company and reimbursement for the value of the plants affected by the lack of landscape protection as well as the replacement cost of the missing solar light. I would like to see proof of the business's credentials such as licensing and insurance.

Response:

Mrs. [redacted],I am sorry for any damage to your landscaping that occurred during the roof replacement. You stated that you needed the roof replaced as quickly as possible as the house was for sale and you wanted this improvement completed. The house was sold between signing the contract and when we started the work. You were also in the process of moving out. The first time we met, we walked around the house and we discussed possible issues. I explained the possibilities of potential damage with a lot of weight (10,000 lbs in your case), the steep pitch of your house, and landscaping around the house. When you accepted my estimate, I agreed to start the project in early July as you requested. The project took three days to complete. When the project was completed we met for a final inspection. You mentioned three plants were damaged and one solar light was missing. I did not have an answer for the solar light but said I would ask the guys if they knew what happened to it. I ran my magnet around the house at your request. I carry a magnet for these circumstances because we want to ensure the best possible clean up of all roofing debris. The second time we met was August 9, 2015 for final payment. You had the check already made out for the bill to be paid in full. You had mentioned how unhappy you were with my company. As I left, I pulled over and called you. I asked if I could credit you for any damage and try to resolve any hard feelings. You mentioned you would not be happy no matter what I did. I did not press the issue as you had paid in full. On September 16, 2015, I reached out to the new owners of the property to introduce myself and see if they had any issues. They said they were very happy with the roof. I told them that I stand behind my work and if they have any questions or concerns to contact me. I noticed the front area, where the three damaged plants were, was being completely cut down. They mentioned they were removing everything and creating another look in that area.Again, I am sorry that you felt that we did not meet up to your expectations. The fact that you never mentioned any concerns or issues with the new roof I was under the impression that you were happy with the roof itself. I know it has passed the home inspection and the test of weather.I would still be happy to reimburse you for the solar light. Based on our previous conversations, I don't feel reimbursement for perennial plants, which you no longer own, were never replaced, and are in the process of being removed by the new owner, is warranted. I take pride in the fact that I am a preferred contractor for Owens Corning and believe in customer satisfaction. My credentials and insurance copies are always available for anyone who requests them. Since you hadn't mentioned it until now, I never thought to provide them when we met.Sincerely,[redacted]Home Pro Roofing?

Response:

Mrs. [redacted],Again, I am sorry for anything that happened to cause you such dissatisfaction toward me and my company. I'm sure the company that replaced your roof only seven years ago did some landscape protection. I'm guessing that your landscaping matured since then. Unfortunately, your newer roof was in bad shape and needed to be replaced. You accepted our bid for the project which was $3,000.00 and $6,000.00 less than the other bids you received. Also, I was able to do the work in the time frame you requested. The rest was mentioned in my first statement which was completely accurate. Reimbursement for perennial plants that are being discarded by the new owners in not reasonable. I am happy to reimburse you for the solar light that was missing. Please let me know the replacement value of the light. Since you have not responded to my previous requests for the value and/or mailing address, I am unable to comply with your original request. I will also include copies of my credentials and proof of insurance for your satisfaction. I agree with you, this could have been handled differently when the project was completed to avoid all of this.Sincerely,[redacted]
