When we presented our products to *** *** *** on August our multi step processes was fully explainedOne of the very early steeps is to spray with a cleaning solution and power wash looking bad wood and hidden damage this is to be done with a power washer with no less than PSI
this information is in the presentation and videoThe reason for this step is simple that installation of any product (paint stain coating) over a bad substrate would result in a failure the product much less a permanent coating Example if you painted a rusty car you still have a rusty car it may be shiny for a little while but the rust will reappear and you will have wasted your time and moneyNo good wood was damaged in the preparing the house for coating only the week and rotting wood you can tell this by all the good wood still on the house.In regards to the budget At the time of original presentation we discussed with the Homeowner’s a price for install of the siding normally we charge $dollars per foot including materials Homeowner stated that he would provide the wood because it was a not standard size and would require a custom milling that he was already working with a lumber yard that the some materials were already on order would be filled in seven to ten day we agreed to a price to install the customers materials for only three dollars a footHomeShield Indiana was at the house on September to do all the work start to finish after washing the house it became obvious that additional wood was neededI came by the house spoke with both homeowners The Homeowner stated that he would order the additional wood this created the first delay of the projectAdditional wood was delivered seven day laterA delay for materials is something that is out of our control with customer supplied materialsThe crew was sent to do other work while we waited for additional materials.The Homeowner stated he was having other work done and spoke with those people had thereBoth Homeowners called at different times to tell me thisWith this information that they shopped for alternatives(At HomeShield Indiana it is our goal to have happy customer.) I met with Homeowner on Monday October at around pm to explore options to try and accomplish this Homeowner said that cost of siding repair was over his budget that he could have it done for lessHomeowner was told that if he liked he could have some other person install wood if he felt that would save him money we really just need a solid substrate to install the coating overA second option was given to the Homeowner of a refund of unused portion of the deposit estimated to be four thousand dollars the Homeowner ask if he would have to make a decision now or could he have a day to think about it he was told a day would not be any trouble as the crew was not due to be at the house till the Wed or the Thu of that week we would need to know by thenNo call was received from the Homeowner on Tuesday, Wednesday or ThursdayI called Tuesday PM, Wednesday AMand Wednesday PMand left massages each time at that point not knowing what Homeowner wanted to do the crew was sent to the next job this created the second delayFriday about 5:pm received a call to say go ahead with the JobI let him know that next available crew would be ready in to working days adjust for weather as you have to do with so many outdoor projectsHomeowner stated he was unhappy with going over his budget but to go on with the workNo mention of any complaint to the Revdex.com.Thursday October was when I retrieve the Revdex.com letter out of the mailbox and that was the first that I was aware of The Revdex.com Complaint by the Homeowner.Billing Adjustment:HomeShield Indiana did not damage any wood only exposed wood that was already bad and needed to be replaced by anyone that would be doing quality workThis process of power washing was fully explained to both Homeowners in the presentation and in the videoThe Homeowner had already had material ordered so they knew that wood needed to be replaced just more then they hoped forThere is no justification for homeowner’s request that we pay for repairs that need to be done on their property.Now the delayThe crew was on site and working the first delay was created when customer supplied materials on site was not sufficient to complete the work and more wood needed to be ordered by the customerSecond delay was the homeowner not getting back to us after we spoke in person on the 19th to review the job had they called or answered our call Monday night Tuesday Wednesday even very early Thursday morning the crew would be finishing up about now
On a positive note the Homeowner stated that one for the reason to have the work done was there intent to sell the house by doing the work the right way I would think that the homeowners would benefit in increased resale value and peace of mind that the buyer would have to deal with the hidden damageHomeowner stated that he was running over budget but a budget that was not shared with us prior to starting the jobWe don’t see were any adjustment is due we will be willing to review any reasonable option with the homeownersPlease feel free to call me if there any questions
