As stated by the Business.

The Customer has called us out on 1 service call to fix a drip in the roof next to the chimney which within 2 days we were on the job fixing it. The Customer was instructed not to put water on the repair for 24 hours.
As to the floor not being level, we sanded and put self-leveling compound on the existing slab that he provided to obtain a flat surface to which he could lay his flooring on. The Customer was made fully aware that we were not intending to make his floor Level, but to make it flat, as it was an existing out of level floor and he did not want the extra cost of tearing it out and re pouring a LEVEL slab.
As to not cleaning the room, our worker went above and beyond what was expected in cleaning, our worker re-washed all the walls and windows, swept and vacuumed the floor, then wiped everything down again.
As to the GFI not being replaced, it was, along with all of the other receptacles in the room installed with tamper resistant receptacles. The Customer argued with me about this and I suggested that he get down on his hands and knees to look and he stated "I'm sorry; I guess I should have looked at them better".
As for any problems with the block wall which is the real problem here. The Customer worked with another individual on this matter and paid him directly. Home star construction did not do any work with the wall. The Customer has not tried to contact us on any of the concrete work items, or any work for that matter, except the one service call. All he needs to do is call us and we will schedule a time to go out and fix any problems that exist per our contract/warranty.
Thank You for your time in this matter. Any further questions please email or call us again

This issue has been resolved.  There was a spot of concrete that was higher that needed to be addressed and we ground the concrete spot lower to fix the issue.  The leak was a minor leak that had to bee caulked, and that was completed.
The issue of the blockwall is not...

within the scope of our ageement and contract documents.
Our customer hired our cement subcontractor on his own to build the small wall.  His agreement was between the cement contractor and him. He paid the contractor directly.b
I hope this resolves any further issues.

Review: I signed a contract to have an old patio room removed and a new one built. $39,242.unfortunately I have paid him in full prior to the county permit being closed. That too is still pending for electrical outlet problems and the retaining wall. Wall was less then 48 inches high which should not have required a permit. I have the following issues:1. I paid his cement person an extra $1050 dollars to rebuild the retaining wall that was taken out while they were pouring the concrete. Wall was built very poorly and crooked.I asked the contractor to have it corrected. He said he would and had the concrete person knock it down. It is still down and not rebuilt.2. The new room was to be 5 feet longer than the old room. The person who did the work for the contractor did a poor job and the floor is not level with the new floor at one end. I pointed this out the contractor before he built the room and I was told he would grind it level. Didn't do what he said and the hump still needs to be ground down. It will be a lot more difficult to grind since the room is now finished.I am unable to install my flooring or to use the room.3. The roof leaks at one end when we had a rain a few days ago of about 0.1 inch. What will happen in a real rain?4. The gutter splice leaks.Desired Settlement: If the contractor cannot do the job, I can hire licensed concrete and roofing contractors to finish the job. He will have to be responsible for the cost that they charge.I would like to have this resolved before July.

Review: I have asked BathPlanet (Home Star Construction) for a parts and labor breakdown! They refuse to give me one! The price they want to charge me for a bathtub remoldel is $8838.00 I want to know how they came to that price that only for a bathtub and enclosure only? Then they took a down payment of $4418.00 per California Contractor law they are not surpose to receive more then $500.00. I have asked to cancel this contract which has the wrong date on it also and all I get is what a great warranty! I do not want them in my house and I do not need a bathtub for $8838.00. I just want my money back please! I was only going to sup the work out because my husband has liver cancer and its to much for him right now. I didn't plan on getting ripped off!Desired Settlement: Just want my down payment back and then it will be over!

Review: On 12/13/14 we signed a contract with HomeStar Construction (aka Bath Planet) of Arroyo Grande, CA for $16,000 for shower remodels. We gave them a check for $1600.00 as deposit. On 12/15/14, when they came for a walk through again, we gave an additional $4800.00. On 12/16/14, we cancelled our contract and received confirmation of cancellation from [redacted] (office) and [redacted] (Salesman). On 12/29/14, my husband spoke with [redacted] on phone and notified him we wanted a refund of our $6400.00 and then we could discuss another contract for only one bathroom. We did not hear back from [redacted]. On 1/14/15, I followed up with a letter to Home Star Construction requesting refund of $6400.00 and on 1/16/15 spoke with [redacted] who said they would work on refund for us. She stated bookkeeper only comes in once a month and would be in on 1/20/15 and would work on this. As of today 2/2/15, we have not received our $6400.00 back from our cancelled contract. We received phone calls/messages from the owner [redacted] wanting to speak to us, my husband called him back and left voicemail for him notifying him we would like refund. Still waiting for refund.Desired Settlement: Refund of our $6400.00 from cancelled contract. Contract was cancelled per agreement/contract details.

Review: On July 14, 2014, we signed a contract for a pergola installation with Home Star Construction located at [redacted] El Camino Real, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420. The contract specified that work would commence in approximately 4-6 weeks. It is now 8 weeks after the contract was signed and we have yet to receive contact from the company. We have called the company three times and have tried to leave emails (the emails are all returned with a note that the email addresses are unknown). When an employee has been reached, there have been multiple excuses about why they haven't contacted us. The day the contract was signed, we payed a 1500.00 dollar deposit. Since the company has not honored the specifications of the contract, we would like a 100% refund of our deposit.Desired Settlement: A refund of the deposit amount: $1500.00. We are concerned that if the pergola does one day get installed by Home Star Construction, the product quality will match the customer service and be of poor quality and construction.

Review: Constructed one wall incorrect - windows would not fit. Finally, installed windoes and 2 days later they removed 8 windows - ordered windows installed 2 windows broke one window - removed broken window & installed incorrect window that does not fit. Installed windows & removed windows - there are 2 windows missing now & there in one installed incorrectly - trim does not fit.
