On May 22, 2020 a credit was applied to my account from a tour operator (refund) after a trip interruption caused by Covid 19. On May 26, 2020 I contacted Home Trust *** and requested a credit balance refund for the amount of the credit - (Canadian $- $613.82) and I was told a cheque would be sent to my home address. I then waited 18 working days (to approx. June 18th) but no cheque arrived and I, again, contacted Home Trust *** and explained the situation, stressing that I needed my refund to pay off other bills caused by a loss of income, also due to Covid 19. I also specifically requested urgent action on this matter. I have now waited a further two weeks and I still have not received my refund. As of today, July 3rd, I have waited over 5 weeks for my own money to be returned to me. There can be no excuse for this horrendous customer service !

Desired Outcome

My refund issued and delivered with no further delay.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Refund finally received after waiting six weeks. I did not receive any contact from the business and I will consider this additional poor customer service on their part. I am prepared to let the matter rest in order to avoid waiting for an apology or an explanation as I'm sure none will be forthcoming.

They reported a credit inquiry to ***, but I hadn't applied for credit. The company confirmed that this was an error, that I had not made an inquiry, yet refuses to advise *** of the error.

We have a secured credit card account with Home Trust and as of October 2018 our cards expired. Home Trust told us that our new cards were mailed to us, however we never did receive them. Since then they have apparently sent more cards to us....a few times....at least 3 or 4 times. They have promised twice they would be rushed via courier and we have never received them.

Desired Outcome

We would like to receive our new credit cards.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Home Trust called me January 3 to say they would call me later that day with a tracking number. I have been trying to obtain the tracking number for these credit cards since before Christmas. To date we still have not heard back from Home Trust and still do not have a tracking number, much less our new credit cards. We have been receiving the monthly bills by mail so what is wrong with their system that they can't get the cards to us?

On July 23 2018 I called to closed a Home Trust Secured *** credit card account. The account has a $1500.00 security deposit, plus a $27.50 credit. I was told by Home Trust Visa customer service that the account would be closed and it would take a maximum of 30 - 45 calendar days to receive a cheque for the security deposit and credit balance. Total refund owing is $1527.50.

I did receive a letter dated 07/24/2018 confirming the account was closed. After 30 days, and again at 45 days I contacted home trust for an update on my refund ...I was told I should receive the refund in the next few days. Today was day 50 since the account was closed. I contacted Home Trust again today and was told it could take another 2 weeks ore longer to receive my refund. Waiting another 2 weeks will mean it has been over 2 months since the account was closed.

Desired Outcome

A full refund of $1527.50 . This includes the $1500 security deposit, plus the 27.50 credit on the account.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I received a phone call from Home Trust informing me that a cheque will be delivered by courier today. Once I receive the cheque and it clears the bank I will be happy.

It is a shame that it took involving the Revdex.com to get someone from Home Trust to contact me.

Regards

My mortgage used to be with *** then the bank change its name to Home bank. When I renewed my mortgage the bank changed its name again to Home trust.
*** I am trying to do a payment and the bank wants me to send a certified cheque and a letter signed to them by mail as if we are in the ancient days. *** accepted direct transfer from my account. Why do they change the names to make us suffer?

Significant delay in application.
My follow up email was never returned.
No mail received regarding my application for Home Trust Visa
I need to know how long my application will take.

Desired Outcome

I would like to get an official response about the status of my online application for their Home Trust Visa. In the email sent by Home Trust dated Feb/5/2018 time is 3-4 weeks to receive response for the application. Since online application involved my credit bureau access therefore application has to be finalized within the time specified in their policy.

I submitted an application for a Home Trust Visa card on the date of February 12th, 2018. The application was submitted online, and no correspondence or update on the status of the application was received for over 3o days subsequent. Several calls were placed on the 13th of March to their customer service line to try and obtain an update of the situation. The help line disconnected the call twice over the course of nearly 3 hours of wait time. When I finally got a hold of a person to talk to, I was informed that they were simply receiving a large influx of credit card applications, and the wait time on the phone was so great because of (mostly) calls asking about the status of a credit card application. Another attempt at phoning was made on the 26th of March, but was unable to ever talk to a person and was disconnected again after an hour. As of this point, no correspondence through mail, email, or telephone has been received from Home Trust. I am unsure as to whether or not my information is being used for some nefarious purpose other than the credit card application I submitted, as it seems very unprofessional and improbable that I would not receive any status updates after this amount of time.

Desired Outcome

I would just like to be told that the application is being processed and that my information is safe, at the very least. Ideally, actually receiving the card that was applied for would be optimal. I have never had to wait this long for a product like this before, nor has it been nearly impossible to contact the business to learn about the status of a product's fulfillment.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Hey Buddy. HomeTrust got back to us on my phone number and said your application was reviewed and approved, and the card should arrive by the end of next week. I responded on the Revdex.com website with a "yes" to "do you accept this response", and wrote the following:I was contacted by the company and informed that my application had been reviewed and approved, and that a card would arrive by the end of next week. While this response is exactly what I had requested, I still find it a bit upsetting that the company had been given ample time and information before the complaint was filed to solve this issue before it had escalated. While the response is satisfying, it seemed like their hand needed to be forced by a Revdex.com complaint in order for anything to happen.

This company is working hand by hand with the *** organization "***", doing all their money collection work and help them clean their dirty hands.

*** !

Below you can find what this company did to me

*** ( using Home Trust)

The offer a rental furnace and other systems with 10 years contract.

What they actually do:

1. Put the furnace as a lean against your house, when you will need to refinance you will have to buy out the furnace
2. When you buy out, you have to pay the interest for 10 years (!!!) there is no penalty , you just pay like you had it for 10 years .

They put these 2 small conditions in the small prints that is hard to read on a small ping paper that most people miss with the *** sales people they sent to your home.

Now to my story:

After 2 years with the furnace I needed to refinance the mortgage and I found out this furnace is as a lean again my property. I needed to buy out it + pay 2000$ in interest which is insane.

To make this ridiculous charge they use *** (Via Home Trust) and sent me to talk to them.

I don't know how what they are doing is even considered legal, it's a real ***, and Home Trust is a part of it.

This company is doing bad business practice and they are cheating innocent people using *** sales people with a *** contract

I bought a furnace and A/C unit that was financed through this company last winter. A big selling point was that they would add an amount to my gas bill every month to pay for it over 10 years. I was Ok with everything until I went to my bank for a home equity loan when I was renegotiating my mortgage. I was surprised that Home Trust managed to get a lien on my house, which I needed to discharge before I could get the money. Much to my horror the company wanted $11,000 to pay for the 2 units and then another $8,000 in interest ( that they would have received over the 10 years in financing) to complete the discharge which would remove the lien and allow me to get my home equity money. As a result they got me for $19,000 for a furnace and a/c unit. When a door to door salesperson comes to your door with one of these furnace and A/C offers that allow you to pay no money upfront and pay for it over 10 years be aware like I wasn't that they can put a lien on your house, which makes it impossible to borrow money that you may need down the road. Make sure there they will not put a lien on your house, and get it in writing before you sign anything. I learned the expensive way.
