Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: the information provided by the business is not accurate, the professional they sent was not licensed or bonded, and pro.com failed doing a background check before sending a fraud to carry a job that he doesn’t have skills forThe company and credential the pro they sent were fake and he was not part of the company he presentedIt is surprising that pro.com would not even call and check the companyWhen I did after the incident happens the owner told me Mark never worked in that company.both contractor they sent were paid directly and both were through pro.comThe fact that the business says they advise not to do that is funny considering both were paid the same way yet they chose to acknowledge one as the right way and the other not.the fact is simple, they sent a random person without the skills and without the right accreditation’s to carry a job under the pro.com umbrella and turn out to be a disaster, I had to pay the second pro as much to remove the old work and redo it up to code and correctly.pro.com did provide a usd off from the second job that they paid to the contractorIf memory serves I pod the first one over (all throw away) and paid the same to the second one to redo the workhorse plus demolition costs.Honestly I had forgotten about the issue as it happens over years ago? But the fact the business is distorting the truth is really a reflection of the poor experience they had provided.quick to blame the contractor when the incident happens, and now it’s my fault cause I paid him directly? That’s the pro they recommended all the issue would have been avoided if they had assumed their share of responsibility and did a background check before sending a fraud to do the work Sincerely, [redacted] ***

The customer generated a job pre-estimate on Pro.com of $296-$and requested service through our platformTo protect homeowners when working with contractors, Pro.com assigns a job manager to every service request to oversee the transaction and review bidsIn this case, the customer went
unresponsive to the job manager’s communications, decided to work with the contractor outside of Pro.com, and paid the contractor directly rather than through Pro.comWe wish the customer had continued to use Pro.com so that we could have reviewed the bid and identified any problems before the customer moved forward with the projectOur $1k Pro.com Guarantee is in place to cover the case where the contractor’s quality of work does not meet the customer’s standards, however, to be eligible, the customer must retain us throughout the process and pay for the completed project through Pro.com

Someone from the Simon Electric signed up online on March through the website We charged @ month later on $ This was reversed Then we charged $on and another charge of $on The $charge on was disputed and we did not contest
this The $charge I have taken care of today and reversed this We did sent a confirmation on July that we have cancelled their account

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Pro.com gave me an original estimate of $640, which in the state of California requires a contractor to have a licenseThey then sent me an unlicensed contractor even though their website claims that all of the contractors they work with are licensedTheir contractor had me pay him directly making me believe I was still going through Pro.com.
Attached are two screenshots from their website with an estimate for my job that includes the statement that it does not include the cost of materials - in the state of California the job cannot cost more than $including cost of all materials, which shows an unlicensed contractor never should have been sent to the jobThe second screenshot is from their website that states 'All pros are licensed'
I have now filed a complaint with the State of California and an investigation is underwayPro.com's business has been named in the declaration and when it comes time to make an appearance in court for testimony Pro.com will be noted againThis Washington based business should not be working in other states where they are not compliant with state law and in this case they should be held accountable for playing a role in breaking that law and for advertising

I am rejecting this response because: The business insist that "The customer contracted directly with Marc G***, not with usWe had no contractual relationship with the customerWe have no record of the customer ever paying us for anything, nor any contracts on file." Can they please provide proof of payment through them for the second contractor they sent (and that they agree that was through them)? They were aware of the contractor working - Conversation for the project was made on their platform and was escalated numerous time, unfortunately attached image is all I have left from the conversationtoo old. Also I could not sue the contractor as all the information on file turned out to be bogus, and the business he was listed under was not hisAnd pro.com never provided me with more information on the providerand the phone number I had for that contractor suddenly stopped working after the incidentI was not going to pay 7k in lawyer fees to get 7k back from poor job.
Sincerely,

We’ve provided all our research on the situation to the Revdex.com for their review, including details about the vetting we did on the pro we referredWe regret that you’ve had such a negative experience and wish that we could have done more to prevent this from happeningShould you require our assistance in pursuing legal action against the pro, we are happy to helpSince this project, we’ve also changed our business from being a marketplace (where we connect homeowners with 3rd party contractors and mediate the transaction) to being a licensed general contractor (and doing the work ourselves), to avoid more unfortunate situations like this where a contractor and/or homeowner might end-run us, which ultimately puts the homeowner at great risk

It was a pleasure speaking with you. I apologize if we not have sent you any  other jobs during the time that you have been turned on to Active. We are still continuing to grow and implementing marketing strategies throughout the nation so we can receive jobs in your area and would definitely like to have a partner like yourself that is ready to take on jobs once we receive those jobs.
As I mentioned I will provide an extension to our free trial for another 60 days so that way you are not getting charged until we start to get more of a consistent flow of leads coming into you. As for your company refund I will send you a screenshot confirming the refund has been processed.
