I quoted Ms. [redacted] a price of $2500.00 to build a deck on the front of her house. Ms. [redacted] said the price was out of her budget. I then quoted her $1700.00 to build as I was trying to help her. Ms. [redacted] then said she didn’t have that much and I asked her what did she have to work with. She...
simply stated she had $1000.00. I was trying to help her get the deck on the front of her home; plus, she’s a nice lady since we’ve worked at her home for months over the previous project. Although I just couldn’t lower the price any further because the lumber package was $700.00. So I accepted the $1000.00 down and then agreed to accept $200.00 a month paid to my company until the balance of $700.00 was paid in full. All I asked of her is to work with me being it was my peak season and I wasn’t making any money on this job. I contend this issue will be resolved with Ms. [redacted] Wednesday September 14, 2016. The issue of the shudder being hung upside down: I will go out and correct the shudder since I pointed it out to her. The issue of the steps coming apart is because she had existing concrete steps put down by her husband and we covered. The steps should have been torn out and redone however due to budget constraints we covered with a laminated wood product. The product used has dried out and shrunk over winter 2015. I will go out and add anchors but the steps are not coming apart. Ms. [redacted] will have to allow my company to come out and make these 2 repairs. Sincerely,[redacted]
Per Mr. [redacted] the company will refund Ms. [redacted] her deposit. Sincerely,[redacted]

[I received correspondence via mail re: response from [redacted]. I'm not sure what he means , that he will take care of it. I initially gave him a check for 1000. 00 for specified work to be done in a reasonable amount of time. He apparently could not comply. I accepted his offer to pay me back half that amt. 500.00. He has yet to do that. If he pays the 500.00 by February 20, 2017by cashiers check this matter should be settled. Thank you,[redacted] ]
