In late March, I hired Landmark to move my things (small bedroom suite and some clothes) from Toronto to Vancouver
My entire experience has caused me undue anxiety and countless hours trying to make contact and compel Landmark and it's employees to follow through with the contract we both signed
It is now June, and I have not yet received any of my belongingsThe were placed in a undisclosed "storage facility" more than an hour away from my residenceOn top of that, they charged me for the first month's rent on the storage unitNeedless to say, I attempted to debate the charge and yet the company held my things hostage and would not tell me the location or how I could find my things
I finally gave up and agreed to pay the month's rent on the storage unit and it has now been two weeks since I paid for the charge and I have not yet received any information on my belongings' whereabouts
I am beyond frustrated ***

I hired Landmark to move a small load of personal belongings from Alberta to Nova Scotia in the summer of I went with Landmark because they provided the best quote and their willingness to take a smaller load that distance
The short story is that I had a horrible experience with Landmark
This included: Landmark re-scheduling the pidate several times, the moving contract not matching the quote provided via e-mail, inappropriately applied long-carry charges, including charges on the invoice that were not included in the quote, a grossly inflated weight on the initial invoice (by > lbs !), an allegation of a Landmark staffer writing over a number on Landmark's copy of the moving contract after the fact (an alleged correction of the weight overage charge printed on the contract, from $to $0.80), and loss of items
When Landmark management stepped in to speak with me by phone, presumably assist their customer, I would describe their manner as unprofessional and rudeWhen I mentioned the alleged fraudulent change made by a Landmark staffer on the business contract, as above, I was accused of taking advantage of the driver's mistakeThe manager was reluctant to stand behind promises made by his underlings, stating "(he'll) be the one who decides how much (I) will pay"
A satisfactory invoice was eventually produced and agreed uponThe lost items were never recovered by LandmarkMe, not having invested in proper insurance for the valued items during the move, was paid pennies on the dollar
This company's right hand clearly did not know what the left was doingI have no confidence in this companynor should you

I would warn you, stay clear of this company*** *** My worst experience ever was having them move me

After paying over $to move my belongings from Ontario to Alberta the company did not want to reimburse me for the damage that one of the movers caused while moving my furniture into my new houseThe mover did not secure the night table on the dolly while he carried it upstairsThe night table rolled of of the dolly and made a huge hole in my wallLand Mark said they normally don't cover for this type of damage since the area was "too small" for the mover to properly move the night table upstairs (keep in mind, the mover was able to move a dresser and a queen size bed up the same "narrow space") Land Mark Agreed to give me a final settlement of $to get the hole fixed since the mover "admitted" to not securing the night table properlymonths later and after numerous phone calls I got my whopping $check, ( Contractor charged me $to fix the hole!)

My partner and I booked these guys for my move from Halifax to TorontoWe booked them weeks in advance for the last day of AprilInitially they couldn't tell us what time they would arrive, and they called days before they were scheduled to do a piin Halifax to say they were arriving a day earlyIt left us at my apartment overnight without anything, a major inconvenience to start with
We were told upon pithat there was a warehouse where they'd unload my stuff and it would be held there free of charge for up to weeks, and all we had to do was call on the 1st to give them the address where we were moving toWe called on Sunday May 1st and no one answered our callWe called on Monday morning the 2nd and were told that it would be Wednesday before it could be deliveredWe called times on Wednesday, and were told it would be delivered that dayIt wasn'tIt is now Thursday May 5th, and they are stating that they don't know if it will be delivered today (or provide us with a date at all, let alone a time) and that we need to pay upfront before we even see my stuff upon delivery
***I am very displeased with their services and *** ***
If my stuff is not delivered today it will be considered to be stolen and I will be contacting the authorities

It was my first time moving and I have to say my experience with Landmark Van Lines was great!! The movers arrived on the date that they were supposed to and my furniture got delivered on the day that it was supposed to as well! Also, my furniture was in excellent condition and the people at Landmark are really nice; from the movers to the people at the office!

Thanks guys!!

I have booked this moving on March 27th, 2016, almost 2 months before my Closing Day on May 19th. The representative Mark T. called me and we agreed on May 18th. He refused to send me any contract or anything in written form, just confirmed the pick up date. 3 days before the moving they gave me a call which I couldn't take, so I called them back. The operator said, that my pick up time was changed from the morning to the afternoon - not good but I accepted that. I was waiting for the track the whole day, called the office a few times, they kept saying 'Wait for a while, they are behind the schedule...'. At the end they said - You pick up day is tomorrow... I asked to cancel their service because it's too late, my apartment must be empty tomorrow... Anyway, they charged me for the "Cancellation"....

[redacted]. They moved my deceased mothers irreplaceable furniture from Toronto to Alberta. They tried to put the couches in the basement as requested by us. Instead of telling us the furniture won't fit they tried to force it through the basement door damaging the couches and the walls. Once I confronted the delivery guy he said "yeah we did damage" like it was not a big deal. Well it was to me cause now I have couched that are ripped and cannot be repaired. After sending in a claim I received a response and realized they didn't get all the items I put on the claim form so someone kindly reentered that for me then I waited 5 months to hear from the company. I tried calling and emailing to let them know I have not received any information in regards to my claim and spoke with many people who made many promises and only when I got upset I was offered 1/4 of what the estimate stated and only 66 dollars for a non repairable 1000 dollar couch. [redacted]

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
We have moved several times in the last few years, with mixed experiences, but this has been the worst so far! Customer service is non-existing, they press you for payment and have zero communication between departments, resulting in a very frustrating experience at an already stressful time. Do not be fooled by their cheap quote; it will be way more in the end and there's nothing you can do about it. I can go on and on, but please do yourself a favor and take your precious business elsewhere.

I won't name names at the company because this review should be enough to deter anyone from calling.

I scheduled a move with sales agent from one end of Canada to the other. I was told it would take from June 23 until July 10. The quote sounded reasonable and she seemed nice so I agreed.

I moved to Edmonton arriving June 30 expecting to have my things in a little under 2 weeks. I got a call on July 5th stating that my stuff had just gotten to Toronto and that it would not be leaving for Alberta until July 20th and that I could expect it around August 10th. I was understandably upset because I was told it would be there a month before that. I told the agent and he asked for the email which I didn't have because I was only told verbally but I had written down exactly what the sales agent told me. He told me he did not need to listen to me upset and that only a 5 year old would believe his stuff would get there so soon. He said that if I didn't pay every penny today that my stuff wouldn't be shipped until August 20th which I felt was incredibly unprofessional. I asked to speak with a manager and he said he would make sure that he was the only person I would ever speak to in regards to this account and that I would never speak with a manager. None of this is exaggerated at all and there was actually a lot more said but I only want to recite what I can remember word for word.

They also picked up my stuff a day late and when I called the day of to ask why my stuff hadn't been picked up their phone lines were down.

I don't know how they are in business and I wish I had read the reviews. I'm glad for whoever is reading this is so you do not hire these people. [redacted]

[redacted] I arranged for a move from Revelstoke to Toronto in late July---they have never been in touch yet to say that they were picking up the goods despite me calling numerous times and being told new dates. Had I waited for them to move the goods everything still would be in Revelstoke and I have been in Toronto since the end of July. They don't return calls, they give you the run around and of course are silent on returning the deposit that I gave them ( again despite many calls and promises that they will reimburse)

I hired Landmark when my son was going to school in Waterloo. The previous company we had scheduled his move with cancelled last minute, saying that they had overbooked and would not be able to do the job until 2 weeks later. Since my son was starting school in a week he could not afford to wait that long. I was frantically searching for someone who would do it last minute at a reasonable rate and am so happy that my friend recommended Landmark. Their services were a fraction of the cost compared to the company we had booked with previously and were so accommodating with the last minute booking. The truck arrived right on time and saved my son from having to get a hotel for a week. I'm so grateful for their help and if needed will definitely be moving with them again in the future. Thank you Landmark for saving the day!!
