Please see our reply to a Revdex.com Consumer Complaint #[redacted]   [redacted]th Documentation;   04/03 - After hours Emergency – Reported as a Plumbing leak, closet carpet was wet. Sent Plumbers, was notified by them that this was not a Plumbing leak but roofing instead Notified Roofers – was...

raining at the time, notified customers that the roofers would be out the next day.   04/04 – RTS(roofers) showed up at the house, reported that the leak was from a nail in the flashing, and they caulked it. They requested for the Framers to meet, and tear off the siding to replace the damaged flashing.   04/06 - Water restoration, finally gained access to the house to start the drying process.   04/07 - I met the roofers, and framers at the house, to look over the cause of the leak. After they tore off the siding, it was determined that the Roofers had stopped the flashing 1” short of the corner.  The flashing was torn out and replaced with new flashing, the siding was reinstalled. I informed the homeowner at the time of the repair, and went in and reviewed the damages to the closet. I informed the customer of the remaining process of the rebuild, and that I would schedule out the repairs at his convenience. Small 12” x 12” hole in the ceiling of the closet, carpet to be relayed, and light reinstall.  I informed him that we would do all repairs in one day, with the exception of the paint, and that would be a follow up appointment.   04/11 – M. [redacted] texted me that he had called the husband 2 times, he left a voicemail the second time, and texted him attempting to pick up his equipment. I called [redacted], and made arrangements for the equipment to be picked up on Thursday 04/13. I set up at that time at the customers convenience for the repairs to be made. He said that he would be on Vacation, that we could do the repairs on 04/21.   04/14 – 04/20 – Customers on Vacation   04/21 - Drywall repair was made, Light was rehung, and carpet pad was replaced, and carpet was relayed, in the Master closet. We contacted [redacted], and scheduled the date for the exterior paint repairs, and master ceiling paint repairs. He chose the date of 05/08, with a 9:00 a.m. appointment time.   05/08 - All repairs made, claim complete.   05/08 – Afternoon, [redacted] called me that afternoon, and informed me that he wanted us to pay him $80 for dry cleaning, and to pay his electric bill, due to the fans being in his house. He discussed with me that his flashing that was installed during the roof repair was unacceptable, and need to be removed. I informed him that we would not remove the flashing, due to this being what is preventing his roof from leaking. He didn’t like how it looks, and wanted it to be cut back. I told him that we would be willing to cut the flashing back some to make it more aesthetically pleasing for him, but we would not remove it all the way back to the siding.  We sent a work order for the flashing to be cut back to 3” from the corner of the bonus room.   05/11 – I called [redacted], and discussed that out of Goodwill, that we would pay the $80 that he had requested for the dry cleaning. He went off in a discussion about his flashing, and that it is unacceptable, and he wanted it removed. I explained that we would not remove this flashing, even at his request, because it would cause a leak on the home. He wanted me to find a different way of preventing water penetration into his house, that didn’t involve him being able to see flashing. I stated that this was standard building practices, and that flashing is what is used to prevent water leaks. I said that I would research the options and get back with him. He agreed that this was acceptable, and would be waiting to hear from me. I told him that I wanted him to be happy with the appearance of his home, but if the research came back to flashing being the only option that it would need to stay. He said that if that is the case then he would accept that answer at the time.   05/12 – Filed Revdex.com complaint.   05/12 – I called [redacted], and explained that we would be willing to trim the flashing back to 1” away from the siding, and would paint it to match the trim.  I explained, that flashing is the industry standard, and that we would leave the flashing, and would not be changing out the flashing. He said that he would have to think on this, and would get back with me on Monday 05/15/17.   05/15 – I called [redacted], and left a voicemail.   All repairs to this home have been made, the home was dried out, and protected from mold, with a Microban disinfectant. This issue is that of esthetics, concerning the appearance of the new flashing that was installed on the roof.   We are attempting to set up an appointment with one of our area Construction Managers to review this flashing to evaluate if there is any other options that would make the appearance more appealing to this customer.
