I used Homeside and *** *** twice - once on a purchase and then he was the mortgage broker for the buyer on a property I was sellingOne experience was more painful than the next
On my purchase, he had a novice assistant trying to do the loanIt was a straightforward loan with days to close, and in the end, we barely closed on time due to the associate's incompetence
When *** was representing the buyer on my property, we were very clear that it was a unique property, and it turns out the buyer had significant hurdles to overcome, including a very small down payment and a recent short sale (some of which was known to us, and some of which was not)*** guaranteed that he could get a loan doneAfter working the deal for months, the actual loan application was only started weeks before closingThen *** left the countryWhile he was on vacation, the deal started unravelingThe underwriters wouldn't approve the property because of it's uniqueness and the buyers didn't qualifyThe deal ended up dying on closing day, again, after months of wasted effortHad *** done his due dilligence and his job, he would have known at the time that there was no way this loan was going to happen
His overconfidence and lack of follow up cost us time and tens of thousands of dollarsWe are now back to square one after nearly a year of wasted time
Avoid the additional stress and heartache of buying a property - avoid this lender

I used Homeside and [redacted] twice - once on a purchase and then he was the mortgage broker for the buyer on a property I was selling. One experience was more painful than the next.
On my purchase, he had a novice assistant trying to do the loan. It was a straightforward loan with 45 days to close, and in the end, we barely closed on time due to the associate's incompetence.
When [redacted] was representing the buyer on my property, we were very clear that it was a unique property, and it turns out the buyer had significant hurdles to overcome, including a very small down payment and a recent short sale (some of which was known to us, and some of which was not). [redacted] guaranteed that he could get a loan done. After working the deal for 9 months, the actual loan application was only started 2 weeks before closing. Then [redacted] left the country. While he was on vacation, the deal started unraveling. The underwriters wouldn't approve the property because of it's uniqueness and the buyers didn't qualify. The deal ended up dying on closing day, again, after 9 months of wasted effort. Had [redacted] done his due dilligence and his job, he would have known at the time that there was no way this loan was going to happen.
His overconfidence and lack of follow up cost us time and tens of thousands of dollars. We are now back to square one after nearly a year of wasted time.
Avoid the additional stress and heartache of buying a property - avoid this lender.
