Tell us why here July 13, Revdex.com of Eastern MA, ME, RI & VT [redacted] Regarding: Revdex.com File #: [redacted] Complainant: [redacted] Policy Number: [redacted] Underwriting Co: Homesite Insurance Company of the MidwestNAIC Code: *** To whom it may concern, Homesite Insurance Company of the Midwest is in receipt of the above mentioned complaintWe thank you for the opportunity to respondHomesite is the underwriting company for the [redacted] The basis of the insured’s complaint is with regard to the amount of a refund due for unearned premium and delay in receipt Please note prior to the completion of this response Homesite did confirm the refund check issued for $was issued on 7/5/2016, and cleared on 7/11/The insured purchased an HO-Single Family Home Policy with an effective date of 6/8/As described within the complaint the customer then found another policy for a lesser premium and elected to cancel this policyThe insured requested the policy be cancelled on 6/20/which makes the effective date of cancel 6/21/On 7/5/a Homesite supervisor was informed that the new policy purchased had an effective date of 6/11/as such the Homesite policy cancellation effective date was amended to 6/11/The difference in the down payment of $and the refund $is the days of earned premium for which the policy was in effect Homesite apologizes to the insured for any & all frustration but as stated earlier the insured is now in receipt of the refund duePlease do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions or concerns Thank You, [redacted] Senior Supervisor- Customer Advocacy DeptHomesite Group Incorporated [redacted] ***

Homesite is in receipt of a duplicate complaint from the WI Department of Insurance and will response directly to the DOI.  The complaint from the DOI takes precedent and no other response to be provided at this time.

We thank you for the opportunity to respond. Homesite is the underwriting company for the [redacted].  The basis of the insured’s complaint is with regard to the amount of a refund due for unearned premium and delay in receipt.  Please note prior to the completion of this response Homesite did confirm the refund check issued for $398.03 was issued on 7/5/2016, and cleared on 7/11/2016. The insured purchased an HO-3 Single Family Home Policy with an effective date of 6/8/2016. As described within the complaint the customer then found another policy for a lesser premium and elected to cancel this policy. The insured requested the policy be cancelled on 6/20/2016 which makes the effective date of cancel 6/21/2016. On 7/5/2016 a Homesite supervisor was informed that the new policy purchased had an effective date of 6/11/2016 as such the Homesite policy cancellation effective date was amended to 6/11/2016. The difference in the down payment of $403.03 and the refund $398.03 is the 3 days of earned premium for which the policy was in effect.  Homesite apologizes to the insured for any & all frustration but as stated earlier the insured is now in receipt of the refund due.
