The original quote for the new roof included certain options. One of the options was for a 26 gauge metal roof. The owner did request the 26 gauge metal roof. When the order was placed for the new roof the 29 gauge metal roof was ordered and delivered. The delivery of the 29 gauge metal roof was...

immediately brought to the attention of the owner by AL Marino, Inc. This was before the installation of the new roof system was started. After discussion of which roof system should be installed between AL Marino, Inc. and the owner, it was decided that the 29 gauge metal roof system would be used. The contract price was adjusted to reflect the change from the 26 gauge metal to the 29 gauge metal and the project was started. After the project was completed by an independent installation subcontractor there were leaks. This did receive AL Marino, Inc.'s and the independent installation subcontractor's immediate attention. Upon an inspection by AL Marino, Inc. it was determined that the new roof system needed to be removed and replaced under warranty to guarantee there would be no leaks. The new roof system was removed and replaced by AL Marino, Inc. At the time AL Marino, Inc. met with the owner and discussed the replacement of the new roof system it was suggested by AL Marino, Inc. that the existing skylights, which were original to the construction of the home, be replaced at the same time the roof system was being replaced. There is a five year installation warranty on the new roof system. It was suggested that during this time a skylight could start leaking and it would not be under the five year roof installation warranty. If a skylight needed repaired or replaced during the five year roof installation warranty period this would not be a warrantied item. The owner was told the skylights could be replaced now just for the cost of the skylights. This was a substantial savings to the owner to do it at the time the new roof system was being replaced under warranty. Once the new roof system was installed by AL Marino, Inc. three adjustments were made to the new roof system. AL Marino, Inc. then contacted the owner to see if there was anything else that need AL Marino, Inc.'s attention. AL Marino, Inc. was told by the owner there was nothing else that needed attention. AL Marino, Inc. also had it's insurance company contact the owner to see if there was anything else that needed attention. The insurance company was also told by the owner that nothing else needed attention. The roof was replaced under warranty and has the remainder of the five year installation warranty.
Thank You, [redacted] President

To the best of my professional knowledge I have made no false statements .
The limited roof warranty does exclude storm damage and storm related wear and tear. The home owner should check with his insurance agent and confirm this type of occurrence is covered by his home owners insurance.
The warranty work has been performed. As I have stated to the home owner on more than one occasion and will repeat at this time I apologize for his concerns.
Thank You, [redacted] President
