Summary: I am reviewing this company as having star after having been yelled at by the company owner over the phone, who was neglecting my concern that his technicians actions may have caused by expansion tank to fail Specifically, my boiler started spurting water on my basement floor less than minutes after the technician had performed the yearly servicing That had never happened before The owner believes that this is strictly a coincidence and that the $repair is not covered under the $345/year service contract When speaking with the owner, he stated both, that they do nothing with the water system, and that they sometimes add water to raise the pressureThe fact that my concerns as a customer were ignored, that the owner contradicted himself on their interactions with the water system, and that he offered no support in the repair makes me realize this owner does not value his customers, or their interactions, nor is he willing to consider criticism and therefor not willing to improve his processes Therefore, I would not recommend supporting this companyDetails: I have a contract with Fireman's Fuel, and the tank insurance The yearly cost is $dollars, and includes the yearly servicing, which was last year valued at $ This covers all things with the boiler and tank, but not anything to do with the water system, as I just recently found outThe first year we moved to our house, the tech came to do the service and we were very pleased with the serviceman's professionalism and knowledge All year the boiler has performed very well and we never had a problemThis year the tech came to service the boiler, and minutes later when returning to work, there was water on our basement floor This had never happened before We called the company, and they sent the tech back outThis caused us to have to stay home for a full day, instead of a half day He said the pressure was a bit low, so he raised it up and placed a bucket under the blow-off valve The boiler continued to intermittently dump water into the bucket, via this blow off valve The pressure on the system as I checked it was about 30psi, when originally it had been at 18psi We called again on Monday morning, and they scheduled a technician to come out on Tues morning, requiring more time off of workThe technician informed us that our expansion tank had failed, and would cost $in parts We asked about labor, and if supported on the contract The technician told us to call the companyThe person that answered the phone stated that all repairs of the water system we not covered under the service contract I asked about the correlation between the failure, and the original servicing and was told that they aren't related Given the current service tech said he'd been replacing many of them, I inquired if his frequent replacements were correlated to the previous technician (perhaps he was servicing in a way to cause overpressure and cause expansion tanks to fail.) The owner was them put on the phone with me and was irate, combative and told me his techs do nothing with the water system I told him he was yelling at me and he told me he wasn't that he has a hearing problem and he talks loud I also have a hearing problem, but I don't yell at people on the phone I asked about the fact that the original tech discussed having to change the pressure to the system, and the owner then said they sometimes add water to the system to change the pressure The discussion devolved as he continued to talk over me, ignore my questions and tell me I was just looking for an excuse When I pointedly asked if the timing of the failure to his tech was just coincidence, he said yes He grew more irate and rude, and I concluded the conversation by saying I would no longer be a customerI do not recommend supporting a company that aggressively denies any wrong-doing without listening to customer, and ignores and berates customer concerns

I was a loyal customer for over years so I trusted the information one of the owners of the company told me when I had an emergency service call to replace my leaking indirect water heaterI was SO over charged for this service and after said owner screamed at me over the phone when I questioned his integrity I immediately canceled my service (in writing)
Two weeks later I was at home when I heard someone trying to fill my oil tank so a went out and stopped him and told him I did not order any oil from this company and asked him to stop filling the tankHe delivered gallons of oil before I could stop the delivery
Now I am getting billed for the oil (I DID NOT ORDER) so I contacted the Massachusetts attorney general's office and filed a complaint
I have an email from them that states the owner (**) is not billing me however every month I get a bill and now they are charging interestKeep in mind I NEVER ordered an oil delivery and I had canceled my account in writing two

I hardly ever leave reviews, but I felt obligated to inform everyone that I can about this unprofessional, scam, hack of a company, Fireman's Fuel AKA First Energy Heating & Cooling and its owner ***I'm going to try and keep this as brief as possibleI had been getting scheduled oil deliveries from this company for the past several years, but it wasn't until I recently called them for service that I had the WORST and most ridiculous customer service experience I have ever hadI found a slow leak coming from my oil tank and needed a new oneI called for a few different places for quotes, but I decided to go with Fireman's because I was already getting my oil from them and their price was reasonableWhen the tech arrived I asked him if he had time after the install if he could also look at my boiler because I was having an issue where my hot water wouldn't always workThe oil tank was installed without an issue, but Fireman's came back to my house a total of different times after that and NEVER fixed my hot water issue actually made it worseI went from having hot water sometimes, to no heat or hot water at allKeep in mind my boiler and piping was installed in so this is a very new systemEvery time the tech came out something else broke and they gave me some lame excuse for needing the new partsThe last time they came out, parts later totaling $600, I requested to speak with a Manager and the owner *** ended up coming to my house with a techI had the same exact result with him except I had the pleasure of actually arguing with him in my basement while my kids were upstairs watching TVI explained my entire situation, but he proceeded to try and say I had "hard town water" and that was breaking down all these partsHe tried to blame me because I installed a new circulator pump per his tech's recommendation, but that had nothing to do with my issue and it was installed correctlyIn the end, he said I needed another part, but he was still going to charge me to fix thisI said no way, told him to leave and that I was taking my business somewhere elseI have since canceled my oil and service with these hacksThe office even billed my credit card before ever confirming or giving me a receipt of the chargesI ended up hiring a new plumber who simply fixed the problem by draining the air from all the baseboards in my rooms and then the entire systemFiremen's never did this, but instead they charged me for a bunch of parts and service calls I never needed and NEVER fixed my problemThis company should not be in business period!!! The owner, ***, is extremely rude and unprofessional and it's shocking that he runs his business like thisI really wish I read some of the other poor reviews before giving them my businessI would give zero stars if that was possible!!!

I called for an appliance service call to my homeI was told the service time would be calculated from the time the serviceman left the shop until he returned to the shopIt was required that they charge my credit card in advance for $300.00, which they didThey called me and I met the service man at my homeHe completed the service in less than hour, and then leftI did about minutes worth of clean up and then left to return to workI was the same service truck pulling out of the grocery store around the corner from my residenceIt takes roughly minutes to drive from my residence to their shop- so minutes round tripI was credited back the balance of what was not used of the $300.00, finding out at that time they billed for hr minutesI called and spoke with their receptionist (Bonnie?) who advised I leave a message for the accounting girl (Rhea), which I didI waited almost a month for her to return my call, which she never didI called back and she stated

I am so grateful to Fireman's Fuel for this heating season! They came to my house on one of the coldest nights of the year and repaired my furnace before my pipes could freeze and they didn't charge me an arm and a leg to come outI use them for all my oil deliveries as well and they definitely have the best prices in the area

We called this company around to look at a noisy power venter in our basementThey told us that is was not repairable and that they could replace it for $+ tax + labor (which they estimated to be to 1,hours)They came the next day and did at best a mediocre jobThe guy was there for hours as he was "reading the wrong diagram"When they left, you could feel the vibration from the fan all through the house so it had clearly not been fitted correctlyIn addition, the backflow damper had been reused from the previous installation which was years old and now did not work at allWhen we phoned to request someone fix the issues we were shouted and sworn at by the owner of the company, however, the did send someone round and both issues were fixedWhen we got the bill it was clear we had been overcharged significantlyWe again phoned the company where my wife was again abused over the phone
Please be warned about dealing with this unprofessional company
