Jeff - 7:16pm At this time my company respectful declines any future work or requests you may have of the company Justin - 7:17pm I will be contacting the Revdex.com In heinsite, if I had not ask questions I did on Friday, Oct 2nd at 5:01pm and just agreed to the terms of the company whether I agreed with them or not I wouldn’t be in this mess If you look at the texts I never really had a chance to give confirmation that I was willing to pay the additional costs - I was never even given the total amount to begin with - All I was given was a cost for the inspection hole I would like to know how “The company did try on several occasions to work with the customer” and what was considered “several harassing texts from the customer, past business hours.” As you can see in the text messages, the last thing I said was that “I will be contacting the Revdex.com” after I received the same response different times to multiple different questions or comments At this point I understand the company is not responsible for the permit situation even though I wouldn’t be in this situation had Jeff told me initially what he claims to have told me He said I shouldn’t need one although in his response letter he says “The customer was fully informed well before the project started that a permit would be required.” This is not true at all as Jeff gave me the option to have the company pull a permit As for the caulk situation and now also the tile grout situation I believe those to be workmanship issues and per the workmanship warranty they should be taken care of by the company The color of the new caulk does not match the caulk used at the time of the re-model and the quality is poor There are spots in which the grout is cracking between tiles and I feel like that shouldn’t happen in such a short period of time Please honor the warranty and repair the issues Thank you Regards, Justin ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The fan has been used during every shower since the re-model and kept on after the water was turned off.  The contractor that removed and replaced the stained caulk never mentioned how the stains would have been caused.  I believe they were caused by the shower curtain that was used after the remodel and was present when he came to do the repair.  It has since been replaced with a different style.  It wasn’t your typical plastic curtain but was still designed and intended to be used as the inner curtain per the manufacture.  I never expressed my satisfaction of the new caulk when it was done.  I was in the living room with the dog until the contractor was finished so the dog wouldn’t go into the bathroom to bother him.  I did not see the caulk until after the contractor left but before he did he told me it needed 24hrs to cure so my thinking was imperfections could take time to go away.  I should have looked at it while he was still there but at the time I had no reason to feel like a poor job would be done.  When I told Jeff about it he wasn’t surprised as he had other issues with the same contractor while he was on vacation and was finding out about them once he got back.  This was discussed in a phone conversation.  At that time I asked if he would like me to email pictures like I did the first time but he said it was not necessary and that the company would take care of it.

As far as the permit, I was asked if I would like a permit pulled.  I asked if I needed one and explained that I was planning on selling the house in the near future as I had gotten the companies name from the real estate agent I was going to list with.  Jeff said I shouldn’t need one because there were no structural changes as in no walls being removed and everything was going back together the same way it was before the re-model.  I took his word for it and declined that a permit be pulled.  If I had known that I would need one I obviously would have had one pulled because I couldn’t sell the house without one.  I should have called my local municipality myself but again at the time I trusted the company and had no reason to doubt the info I was given.  When I contacted the company to explain that my real estate agent had me contact my municipality and they said I need a permit for the work done Jeff was surprised and said that they must have changed their ways since the last time he did work in that area.  He said he would contact his plumber and that we would get the situation taken care of.  This was in the beginning of July.  Throughout the next 3 months I had to follow up with the company about the permit situation.  I did so via text as you can see below:

Ok how long will that take?  How much is this going to cost me?  Also, when can you re-caulk my bathtub?  There are cracks and gaps in multiple spots

Jeff - 4:51pm
Within a week for the permit.  He will let me know the permit cost when he does.  To cut the inspection hole and patch it up will be $200.00.  I'm assuming you will do the painting of the wall. It will take two trips in one day to do the wall patch.  One in morning then one in evening. We will repair the caulk on first trip.

Justin - 5:01pm
So how much did it cost me to have you "treat the mold issue" in the tub when you were here?  I feel like a lot of work was pushed aside and now I have to pay for it anyways...According to the invoice you demo'ed the supply lines in basement, installed new supply lines, demo'ed the bedroom wall, repaired and painted the bedroom wall but yet none of that was done the first time around...All of this is happening because you told me I didn't need a permit to do the work even when you knew I was looking to sell the house shortly after...Am I missing something here?

Jeff - 7:06pm
The signed contract says nothing about demo bedroom wall. The mold cleanup, insulation replacement, sub floor repair, & removal of the towel bars cost more then replacing supply lines into the basement and painting a bedroom wall. You had no problem with that deal when work was being done. Keep in mind you were very aware of the changes and had no complaints at the time the work was being done or after it was compleated. I did not tell you not to get a permit. I gave you your choices and you decided not to get the permit since you wanted the work done fast. Now months later after all work has been done and paid for in full you have complaints. If the work was not done to your satisfaction months ago why did you make the final contract payment amount? At this time my company respectful declines any future work or requests you may have of the company.

Justin - 7:09pm
I asked what it cost to treat the mold

Justin - 7:10pm
I asked if I should get a permit based on my situation of wanting to sell the house and you said that since there were no structural changes I did not need one

Jeff - 7:10pm
At this time my company respectful declines any future work or requests you may have of the company.

Jeff - 7:12pm

Justin - 7:13pm
I have a 10 year workmanship warranty on all completed projects - The workmanship of the caulk is in question

Jeff - 7:14pm
At this time my company respectful declines any future work or requests you may have of the company.

Justin - 7:15pm
But I have a warranty on a signed contract.  Is your company declining to honor the warranty they offered and I paid for?

Jeff - 7:16pm
At this time my company respectful declines any future work or requests you may have of the company.

Justin - 7:17pm
I will be contacting the Revdex.com

In heinsite, if I had not ask questions I did on Friday, Oct 2nd at 5:01pm and just agreed to the terms of the company whether I agreed with them or not I wouldn’t be in this mess.  If you look at the texts I never really had a chance to give confirmation that I was willing to pay the additional costs - I was never even given the total amount to begin with - All I was given was a cost for the inspection hole.

I would like to know how “The company did try on several occasions to work with the customer” and what was considered “several harassing texts from the customer, past business hours.”  As you can see in the text messages, the last thing I said was that “I will be contacting the Revdex.com” after I received the same response 5 different times to multiple different questions or comments.

At this point I understand the company is not responsible for the permit situation even though I wouldn’t be in this situation had Jeff told me initially what he claims to have told me.  He said I shouldn’t need one although in his response letter he says “The customer was fully informed well before the project started that a permit would be required.”  This is not true at all as Jeff gave me the option to have the company pull a permit.  As for the caulk situation and now also the tile grout situation I believe those to be workmanship issues and per the workmanship warranty they should be taken care of by the company.  The color of the new caulk does not match the caulk used at the time of the re-model and the quality is poor.  There are spots in which the grout is cracking between tiles and I feel like that shouldn’t happen in such a short period of time.  Please honor the warranty and repair the issues.  Thank you
Regards,
Justin [redacted]

The company performed a bathroom remodel for the customer in
March of 2015.  Before work was started
all options were discussed and agreed upon with the customer as well as a daily
explanation of progress during the project with the customer in person.  The project was completed by the...

company to
the satisfaction of the customer as proven by payment in full by the customer
upon completion of the project in March of 2015.Months later the customer is claiming to have issues (staining)
with the caulking around the tub.  The
company sent a licensed contractor to inspect the caulk issue.  Upon closer examination the licensed
contractor concluded that the staining of the caulk was due to surface
mold.  Surface mold occurs when there is
excessive moisture in a room.  The
bathroom is equipped with a bathroom vent that the company was also hired to
properly vent through the roof and did so.
This led the licensed contractor to conclude that the vent was not left
on a significant amount of time to properly vent the moisture out of the room.In spite of this conclusion the company agreed to remove and
replace the stained caulk as a courtesy to the customer.  The customer was present when the recaulking
of the tub was performed and also expressed his satisfaction to the licensed
contractor upon compleation.  If the
customer was not satisfied why was the licensed contractor allowed to leave
without the request of fixing any imperfections the customer claims to have
now?As for the permit issue the customer was fully informed well
before the project started that a permit would be required and the project time
line for completion of the project would be about two weeks.  The customer decided before the project
started to not have a permit pulled since this was the only bathroom in the
house and the customer wanted the project completed in as short of a time frame
as possible.  This permit issue became a
problem when the customer decided to list his home for sale.  Now the customer wants the company to fix the
permit issue that the customer caused by deciding to not have a permit pulled
when the project started back in March 2015.
As a courtesy the company contacted its plumbing company and informed
the customer of the additional costs that would need to be paid so a permit
could be pulled and an inspection could be done by the municipality he lives
in.  The company never received
confirmation that the customer was willing to pay the additional costs. As for the 10 Year Workmanship Warranty it does not cover
customer neglect and improper care of any project after its completion.  The company did try on several occasions to
work with the customer, but all that was received was several continuous
harassing texts from the customer, past business hours, and that he was going
to file a complaint with the Revdex.com.  The
company politely replied “At this time my company respectfully declines any
future work or requests you may have of the company.”  This is still the company’s position with
this customer. The company always tries to help all its current, past, and
potential customers to the best of its abilities but when faced with
unrealistic and harassing demands the company finds that type of environment
distasteful and will always respectfully decline to participate.
