I have been without water in my home for about a month now waiting for a hot water heater claim that was submitted to HMS, Cross Country I was told that my claim was elevated to an emergency which would ensure quicker serviceThe individual was from Home DepotHe was unprofessional and lazyHe finally came to my home to fix the water heater after a month and told me he was not replacing the water heater and walked out of the job After this situation, I called HMS and dropped the claim because I probably would have gotten the water heater fixed a lot quicker and time is moneyAlso, I probably would have had to pay another deductible for another HMS vetted professional to come to my home and after this experience I do not trust any of the technicians that HMS provides since the service was sub-par I feel cheated and I feel as though I was hustled out of the money that I used to purchase the warranty especially since the protection I paid for did not come to fruition Of course, when I expressed my dissatisfaction at the service that was not provided and that I have paid for, the company did not carePlease save yourself the headache and do not do business with HMS Warranty, Cross Country

BIG RIP OF!
I am a year old man with a pacemaker and had this warranty because I am on a fixed income and could not afford a large billMy air conditioner broke several timesInstead of replacing they put duct tape on it for over a yearIt finally came to the point that it could not be fixed anymore
It took one month for them to replace the itemI live in Florida and it was summertime so the weather was very high humidity and at least degrees everydayI bought a small air conditioner and put it in my bedroom and had to live in there for a whole month
I called them and advised them of my age and health conditionThey did not care at allAll the premiums I paid them and I still had to pay $to get it fixedThey got a company named Star Quality to fix it and they charged me for things they did not do
I saved only about $dollars and had to complain and live very uncomfortable for a monthWhat a waistDon't give this company your money

When I bought my home, the seller bought me years home warranty through this company because my heating and air were ancient and this would insure that I would be able to get I fixed When I called the other day to file a claim, I was put on an automated system and it automatically assigned me a contractor without any choices and without talking to a human person Then the Heating and Air company they assigned me (which I had never heard of and I work for a Heating and Air company in my local area), started calling me but when I ignored it, they didn't leave a message and kept calling all day When I called the warranty company back and finally got a live person on the phone, I was informed that I had no choice in what contractor came out They had no list for me to choose from and when I looked up the company that they assigned me, there was nothing online No website, they are not accredited with the Revdex.com, no reviews, no NOTHING I have young kids and I won't just let anyone into my house When I asked if I could get my own company listed as a contractor they told me no I was already assigned a company and that my particular warranty did not give me a choice as to whom I had to let into my home I asked the lady on the phone to cancel my claim She did notI emailed the claims department and never heard from them until I resent the same email and told them that I would be posting on facebook and letting everyone I know to never buy a home warranty through this company HMS used shady business practices and shady contractors In this day and age of technology who does not have any information on line about their company? TERRIBLE BUSINESS, WILL NEVER BE USING ANY OF MY WARRANTY I HAD MY OWN COMPANY COME OUT AND I'M HAPPIER PAYING OUT OF POCKET

I am ahocked they are still I business it has been over a month since the claim for both AC systems in my house has been brokenThis is the 8th time we have had to call to get the AC fixed and now they are placing the blame on the service company they choose southern comfort and cooling who also has already been paid for by me for parts and services not covered by the warranty company and they didn't do any workI cannot believe this is how they treat military service members and veteransThey refuse to let me speak with a supervisor when requested and directed me to his voicemail Again! Iam now seeking to take legal action both with cross country home services and southern comfort and cooling who caused more damage to the AC exposed to the elements for over a monthI have also notified military consumer affairs department of this situation to assist in the legal action as well

I would rate this company a zero, if it were possible Total Protection Warranty is a product of Homesure Of America and they have the worst customer service I have ever experiencedI have been a member for months now and I am very disappointedRecently I put in a request for my AC unit because the whole system stopped workingViking Heating and Air Condition came out and assess the unitAfter only spending minutes, he informed my husband, that Total protection will contact us and send another person outThen I spoke with a Total Protection representative and they informed us that the AC unit was not installed properly and we must contact the previous company that serviced itI informed them that we recently bought this home two years ago and there is no contact number from any company on the unitThe sales representative then said I should call the previous owner through my realtor and find outWhat! Are you serious? I told the representative that the warranty states that it covers any pre-existing conditionsHe kept insisting that once we fix the unit then they can cover itThis was ridiculous because we purchased a full coverage warranty to prevent any outrageous cost So, the next day I called to change the expensive warranty plan to cover just the basics since we are paying for nothingI spoke to Nancy and she rudely said "NO you are not allowed to change your policy"I informed her according to your policy on https://www.totalprotect.com/help-faq#managefaq it clearly states in the question section;
"I'm not sure I have the right plan...can I change it?

Nancy proceeds to tell me that she cannot see that information anywhere and you cannot change itAfter 15mins she found it and stated that "oh well if you read a disclaimer on the bottom it states that our information maybe incorrect." I asked for her supervisor and she stated that there are no Managers or Supervisor availableThis is a lieI called Viking and xxxx a technician rudely stated that he will charge $to fix the problemThis is ridiculous and a shameSo I called another company not affiliated with Total Protection and he informed us that the repairs were minimal and would only cost $to fixThis is outrageous and with the poor customer service, I will never refer them againThey take customers money then make accusations on why they will not cover any appliances, even though it clearly states they cover it

We have an older home and purchased this warranty thru our mortgage company $deductible Well, heat went out during a cold snap 9-15- Call and place claim Service Provider came out on 9- Messed with Furnace and said pressure switch needed replacing However he was able to get unit working that day Didn't hear back from provider until I called on 12-17-stating that heat had stopped again and when was he going to get part? Was told part had been back ordered, from 9-to 12-17! Well he was able to get a part, hopefully the right one and installed on Monday 12-19- However, when he tried to turn furnace on, guess what! Yup no connection So still no heat On 12-19-he told me that wiring was wrong and he need to get an electrical contract an was going to have to put holes in walls to get new wiring Call days ago, on hold for minutes before someone answered only to be told they were still waiting on estimate On phone with them now 1/5/17, and now get a story that if wiring from furnace to thermostat is messed up it is not covered! WTH!!!!! How do you control a furnace if you dont have a thermostat and how is the wiring not covered?????? I wish I had never heard of these people!!!!! Waiting on Supervisor, but not very confident about outcome

Have had nothing but issues with a claim I file 07/25-29..received new water heater I have yet to have hot water..under my home was flooded..the waterwas going under the house..they went under my home and now I do not have Air..they were suppose to come back Mon..it's been a night mare..asked for supervisor No one will call back..My son's had too callStill nothing done..I have never went thru anything like this..the companySent men over that had no..clue..this have yet to be resolved.no hot waterno air.cover for hot water heater is setting near my fridge.I have made calls..today 3..some of the ladies customer service hangs up..I pay every mnt..EFT..but I also have picture..knowone has return my calls from the Company that made this mess..someoneCame back and got a fan that they put under my home..air was working until this happened..I am going to stop EFT ASAP..please help..ROOTERMAN..FROM Spartanburg..is the Company .I can not go into all details..from..me taking off work they not showing Up..my son took off the same thing

This is the most unprofessional company that I have ever encountered They will do everything they can to not fix the problem They will have the contractor come out numerous times and change the diagnosis to fit their needs rather than the consumers needs You will hold forever to speak to someone and when they finally answer they are rude and most of the time incompetent There has been a different story regarding my AC Unit each time I call They sent three different contractors out to evaluate my central air The first contractor said it needed to be replaced The second said it just needed Freon which he replaced Two weeks later the AC unit completely died They sent someone out again who said we needed a new unit Within a few hours, HMS said they want him to come back out to re-look The bottom line is that if their contractor doesn't provide them with a cheap fix or diagnosis they see fit they play games with the consumer There has been different contractors at my home and all I am left with is a broken AC unit and roasting in degree weather I am now at the point where I have no clue what the next step is This company is a disgrace and *** should remove themselves from this dishonest business

Thanks so for this review, My husband and I are having the exact same problem. We deal with Cinch Home services, one of HomeSurer of America
Umbrella of companies. This company Is awful. There should be a class action lawsuit against all their companies. They should not be allowed to take at vantage of their customers. As of 8 -27-2023 NO AC , it’s being 3 1/2 weeks, and it’s really hot.This type of heat do not help health problems. You can’t even turn your dryer on to dry your clothes you’re afraid to turn your stove on to cook because it heats the house up so hot, You can’t afford to go to a hotel! We had this policy for over three years. Only one claim washing machine, easy fix.But yet they seem to deduct our payment every month without no problem.

Their customer service is awful! They routinely deny claims Not sure why they are still in business

This is the worst company that I have dealt with in recent memoryI live in a city of 100,people and they couldn't find anyone to partner with themUnable to answer even the most basic of questionsI can't even believe that they are functioning as a business and seem more likely to be a complete scam

This company is a disgrace to the american standardsIt is a scamThey are pitiful at handling business in a timely manner and it should not even be offered as an option for home buyersand misleading information all the time, anything to make you quiet/ go away for the day

I called in a claim for a water heaterWas told a technician will contact me within 24hrs as a message was left for them on my behalfAlmost 48hrs later, no contact, so, I calledOnly then was a technician sent out within 5hrsI thought that was excellentTechnician says he will submit the report the next day when he returns to the office with his findingsMonday, I called total protect who said report hasn't been submittedCalled Tuesday, says report is in and someone will contact me within 24-48hrs with a decisionCalled Wednesday, Thursday and by this time there is still no movement on the claimSo, I was told they would expedite processCalled Friday and Saturday and this time, the rep says claim will now be escalated as the status has remained the sameI should hear from them Monday, at the latest, yet another hr waitThroughout my conversation with the reps, nobody has given me any info about the claim processing not from lack of my pressing the questionOnly that someone will be in touch with you within 24-48hrs with a decisionBy far, I've been the only one making the outgoing callsThe only correspondence initiated by this company is an email confirmation of my claim being submitted which I received after the tech has already been in my home
Claims processing should be clear and concise and put forth at first contact with me, the customer! It shouldn't take this long to make a decision on a water heater after they've received the technician's report! It's already an inconvenience to have an appliance breakdown but to have a customer waiting just so, I'm afraid they can say it's not covered! If this company was efficient, they could save me the trouble of having to wait so I can prepare and take the next course of action!!! This company has no sense of urgency to respond to who pays their paycheck! I will be sure to submit a negative experience with Pentagon Federal Credit Union who recommends this company

We purchased a home in Feb of this year, the home had an HMS home warrantyWe had a leak on the fridge caused by the ice makerThe technician they put us in contact with was an inept and did not know what he was doingFinally after replacing the ice maker, still was not working, the tech said it was a clogged pipe, he unclogged it and caused a major leak on the freezer that caused damage on the room below the kitchenWhen I called HMS about the issue and the water leaking they said to wait two hours for the tech to call back and that they will not take responsibility or cover the damage caused by the leak

Made me pay the deductible and now will not work with me to fix the damage!!!

I have been a customer for four years This is my first time filing a complaint I am on my forth week without a dryer I have had repair men out different times to be sure the dryer was really broken They were some of the least professional repair-people I have ever experienced I have finally been approved for a replacement, but I keep getting my timeline pushed back Every time that I have gotten any information about my claim status, it has been because I have called the company I have called this company at least times over the last weeks This is so unprofessional and disapointing What a waste of money I wll be looking into finding another warrenty company, maybe one that values my business This company has made it clear that they do not

I have a mortgage with OCWEN and noticed on my bill a charge ($14.95) for an optional fee for "cross country home services" I called ocwen and removed this since I had no clue what it was for Upon further investigation I found out that they send checks from OCWEN for $and IF you deposit that check you then enroll yourself in their "home warranty service" which charges monthly I never recall signing this check and when I call them to get my money back they quickly close my service and say there is no way to receive a refund unless they find that check I cashed Either way they are scamming people in singing up for their service and will never resolve your issue We have checked our bank records and we never deposited any check from them
This company and all their affiliates are scammers and should be investigated Just google the company name, you will see class action lawsuits and 1,000's of other negative reviews
STAY AWAY!!

Contact and file a complaint with your states Attorney General's office. I've been dealing with Sears and was talked into getting this plan. Long story but the short of it is post to every Sears facebook site you can find. Keep a date, time, person, phone number and results log. There are other consumer complaint websites I've found since my ordeal began July 6, 2020. We all just need to get word out and boycott Sears and any product or service. Bought my Kenmore heat pump, plus windows from them the HVAC went out just over 26 months after install and first appointment wasn't until 10 days later. The small print on my Dec page with Homesure says " Dispatch of service will not be longer than 48 hours under normal circumstances ". Good luck, to all.

Complaining is such a waste of time, but I'm beyond frustrated and hope that knowing what I'm going through may help a few peopleHere's the deal and I can't express this enough - DO NOT purchase a Long and Foster Home Warranty and if the house you are buying already has one, demand the seller provide one from another company
I purchased my home on December 21, The home came with a Long and Foster Home WarrantyDuring the closing process on the home, I heard nothing but great things from the selling agent about the warranty (who was a Long and Foster agent)The seller had even purchased the aAir and Heating coverageMy wife and I felt very secure knowing we had such great coverage!
A few days after moving in, we realized the heat pump was not working properlyI asked a good friend of mine who owns a heating company to take a look at it for meHe said it was completely out of refrigerant and that I should call the warranty company
I called and placed a claim for the heat pump on December 29th, I also paid the $deductibleThe technician the company provided (I couldn't select one myself) arrived to look at the heat pump on January 8thThe technician diagnosed the problem and notified the Long and Foster Warranty company the same dayThe technician also advised the company that our cheap, builders' grade heat pump should be replaced as it had a cracked coil and several other leaking couplersThe warranty company disagreed and decided to repair the heat pump instead of listening to the technician they hired to do the job
Today is January 27, and we still don't have a working heat pumpThe technician called yesterday to inform me that he had finally received the parts and would be out to repair the unit on Wednesday, February 3rdDo the math - that's a total of days with a Long and Foster Home Warranty and days we'll be without a properly functioning heat pump
Throughout this entire process, I called the company on four separate occasions asking for claim statusEvery time I was informed that there was nothing that they could doThey said I had to wait for the parts to arrive on December 23rd
During my final phone call with the company, the manager I spoke with said that the extended length of time for the repair was because the unit was still under the manufacturer's warranty and they had to wait for the manufacturer (Rheem) to ship the partsI guess they've never dealt with a situation like this before and I'm the first person in the history of the company that filed a claim for a product still under warranty?!?! What a ridiculous excuseWhy couldn't they have just provided the parts to the technician and simply sent them back or restocked them once they arrived from the manufacturer? Either way, I'm sure there is a better solution to this problemA reputable company would not allow this to happenAllowing a customer to wait over a month to have their heat pump repaired in the middle of winter is completely inexcusable
The warranty is actually costing me money as wellIn order to keep the house habitable, we've had the heat pump operating in full time auxiliary heating mode since the day we've moved inThis is extremely inefficient and as a result, our first electric bill in my small, square foot home is $Welcome to the neighborhood!
PS - I should have learned my lesson, but I placed another claim with the company on January 27th for a broken microwave and refrigerator - both of which are years oldAnother long story short, I cancelled the claimThe appliance repair shop - provided by the company once again - called me to tell me the microwave fan and the refrigerator ice maker were most likely not covered by my policyAt least they were nice enough to tell me before I paid the $deductible on this completely useless home warranty

When I tried to phone this company "Systems Protect", I was kept on hold for a half hour The recorded messages told me to go to a website That website was a dead end, but it gave another number The operator said that was the incorrect number but she transferred me This company (or companies) has unbelievably messed up phone and website customer service I tried talk with a supervisor, but was told none were available I will stop doing business with this screwcompany immediately

TERRIBLEI have had a home warranty with this company for several years and at first they were okay, but mainly because I didn't need to submit many claimsRecently, my toilet began making an awful noise, so I submitted a claim onlineI was given the name and number of someone extremely unprofessional who could barely speak on the phone then could not give me an ETA for arrival citing that he was "All the way over in...." (a location literally minutes from my home) and would call when he was on his wayWhen I called the warranty company hours later to ask for a different technician, a very rude associate told me that was not possible and I needed to just waitI eventually called back hours after that (a current wait time of over hours for this technician) and asked to just cancel the claimInstead, the person on the phone called the technician and he said he was on his wayI told her he never called me and she said, "He still might call you." The technician then pulled into my driveway several minutes laterWhen I showed him the problem, he acted like he knew what it was and went back out to his vanHe came back in, fiddled with the toilet, then asked me to come in thereHe flushed and although the hissing was gone, the toilet fill valve was making a loud noiseI told him that and he replied, "You won't get away from that water sound" even though I told him my toilet had NEVER sounded like that beforeHe ended up showing me a piece of rubber he'd removed from my supply lineHe basically refused to do anything else and leftHe was here a total of minutes and I paid $to have my toilet NOT fixed and a piece just discardedWhen I called the warranty company back, they told me he had hours to submit his work reportSo I waited over hours later and called back, stating I wanted another company to come work on my toiletThe associate I spoke with was very rude and basically told me they could have another technician from the first company come out; that company is one person and I did not want him in my house since he refused to listenSo the associate said, "Well, then are you prepared to pay another $65?" Absolutely no help whatsoever, I'm out money, and my toilet is still making noiseTerrible company and I will be canceling my contract with them soon
