I think Hometown Embroidery Plus is the WORST! I will never go back!

When my regular embroidery guy retired, I went online and looked for a new one. I was changing my logo for my company and various give aways, and I unfortunately found Hometown Embroidery Plus.

I called them on the phone and spoke to Nanette. I asked about their embroidery services. I was also told her that I needed to buy new shirts, but I did not see any listed on their website. She told me they did not have any shirts on the website to look at.

So, I went online and bought some various shirts. I also emailed them my new logos on Sunday, November 6, 2022 to Hometown Embroidery Plus. They would prepare sample sew out for each of the two for me to look at.

I didn’t hear anything. So, on Monday, November 14th, I wrote to them and asked how the samples were coming. I got an email back that same day saying they would have something for me to look at later that week. They lied. The week came and went and I heard nothing. No communication.

On Tuesday, November 22, I called them and asked where my sew outs were. I got a voicemail back saying that they would get my sew outs done that day. Again, they lied. I heard nothing.

It wasn’t until that next week, Wednesday, November 30th, that I got a call that my sew outs were done. They would be closed on Thursday, so I planned on going to the store on Friday.

I got to the store on Friday. Bruce was there. Apparently, I had a few cat hairs on some of the shirts I bought. So, I took them outside and pulled the few cat hairs off three of the shirts. When I went back inside, Bruce told me that were a few cat hairs on a couple of the other shirts. Bruce suggested that I take the shirts, clean them, and bring them back. These were all brand new shirts with a few cat hairs that I could easily remove with a lint brush.

I told him that I had already been waiting four weeks for these sew outs. I cannot wait anymore. This has already gone on too long.

He then told me that is why clients buy their shirts from them. I told him that I was on the phone to his wife while I was online and she told me they did not have any shirts to look at.

Bruce then smiled, shook his head and said, “She never said that.”
THAT did it. Not only did I find Bruce to nothing but rude and arrogant, but to then be called a liar after I had been waiting for weeks and suffered through many lies as to when these samples would be ready was just too much.

I took all my shirts and left. I will never do business with them.

I could have gone online, had my samples within three days, mailed my shirts to have them embroidered and gotten them all back within two weeks … and at a much lower cost. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with getting my products embroidered in 21 years!

I think if you want to wait forever for your embroidery to get done, if you like being lied to, if you want to pay more than you should and if you like being lied to and insulted by Bruce, you will LOVE Hometown Embroidery Plus.

Review: on or about 17 nov 2013,I took eight shirts to hometown embroidery, five were company uniform shirts and three were brand new dress shirts,two were [redacted] and the other an [redacted].they were to be embroidered with personal monogramming, the uniform shirts;name and initials on the left sleeve and the dress shirts initials on the left sleeve only.the shirts were handed personally to [redacted], the owner.after two weeks I returned and found that the monogram on all sleeves were not centered and almost at the button hole on the sleeve of the shirts.I informed [redacted] and another two weeks passed.upon my return,I found one of my dress shirts;a [redacted](white in color with sky blue stripes) was missing. I informed [redacted] in person an assured her that the shirt was infact,there, when she recieved them. she asked me an array of question,and the cost of the shirt.I informed her that the cost was approximatly ninety dollars and that I had purchased it from [redacted].she asked another array of questions, did have a reciept, credit card statemet,did I think I could find it on sale,etc.ultimatly she agreed to "work with me"(her words) an give me "half on it",if I brought her a "style number":for a shirt that I no longer have,an can only describe.I have been a loyal customer to [redacted] for the past twenty years,I started patronizing her business in 1992 and I have never had one discrepancy unti now.my only intrest is to get another shirt (a [redacted] white with sky blue stripes).what makes this so ludacris is that, even if [redacted] was to reinburse me totally for the shirt, she'd still get the reinbursement back because I still would want my initals on the left sleeve of the shirt and my reacurring business, would not have her sustain any loss..Desired Settlement: I am not totally,interested in being reinbursed.I am more interested in the shirt being replaced.if [redacted] can find a brand new [redacted](white with sky blue stripes 2x) for ten dollars..im okay with it,but if not, I do not want "half" on a shirt that I paid full price for.id like to have my ninety dollars.twenty years of business with her, should outweigh ninety dollars.

I spoke with [redacted] from the business and she stated that she was never given the shirt from the consumer. She has been trying to get in touch with the consumer to talk about a resolution but she has not been able to get a hold of the consumer. She would have to see a receipt before reimbursement. She also advises the consumer to get in touch with her to talk about the complaint.

The consumer called and stated that the company did write him a check and the complaint has been resolved.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted].
