Hometown Financial Assistance Services

Ms*** complaint is not regarding our services, but rather
that she was unaware of the monthly fees associated with the
program because she viewed the agreement from her mobile phone.
Now she is asking for our services to be provided for free by
refunding her
the remainder of any monthly fees retained by
Hometown Financial
Not only do our agents always disclose all the program fees during
recorded conversations, but our fees are clearly shown in our
client agreements where the fees themselves are in bold print that
is larger than the rest of the font in the contract (pt
font). The fees are shown in separate points in the contract
Ms*** received her agreement via electronic format through
DocuSign. Hometown Financial offers the opportunity for consumers
to receive agreements via fax and US Mail (with return postage
provided), but Ms*** did not request those options. She
further claims that she chose to sign the contract from her mobile
phone ("smartphone") to expedite her enrollment in the program.
As a result, she claims that she could not view the agreement
details and relied on our sales agents representation of the
program.
Ms*** signed her agreement on 11/14/9:04:AM PT for an
8-month, 18-payment term. Upon signature, Ms*** also
received an emailed copy of the agreement
While Ms*** may not have been able to view the agreement
clearly at that point per her complaint, she never asked for
Hometown Financial to mail or fax her the agreement. Contrary to
the claims made in her complaint, Ms*** accessed the
agreement again via the DocuSign link on:

Ms*** received significant benefits from our services through
her early cancellation on March 3, and
beyond, all the way through March 12th. Ms*** accounts
with *** *** ($480, settled for $440) and *** *** ($300)
were able to be "Paid in Full" even with her early cancellation (
months early) Hometown Financial made a partial payment to an
additional lender as well during her enrollment in the program,
*** ***, for $of $686.00. In the case of all of
Ms*** lenders, Hometown Financial was able to help Ms
*** cease the automatic drafting of interest and loan renewal
fees from her lenders which were estimated to be $1,per
month, of which none of those fees were being applied towards her
principal balances. Rather than paying $1,per month to
her lenders forever (since the funds weren't being applied
against her principals), Ms*** paid a total of $per
month, immediately providing her with an additional $1,in
disposable income every month.
Though it was not our obligation, in an effort to appease Ms
***, Hometown Financial already waived $in monthly fees
at the point of her cancellation in order to payoff the lenders
noted above. This prevented Ms*** from being re-assessed
fees and interest by those lenders. Lastly, Hometown Financial
also waived Ms*** $early cancellation fee
At this point, Hometown Financial will not be issuing any
additional refunds as we have already been more than generous in
the waiving of fees to provide a maximum program benefit to Ms
***. Ms*** accessed the agreement several times more from
a computer after signing the agreement on the days ensuing her
enrollment. This appears to be a case of extortion through the
Revdex.com more than a justified complaint
