Review: HOMETOWN RENTALS IS HARASSING ME, MY EMPLOYER AND MY RELATIVES FOR PAYMENTS AS LATE AS 3 DAYS. I GET SEVERAL CALLS PER DAY, THEY SHOW UP AT MY HOME AND HAVE BOTHERED MY FAMILY AND EMPLOYER, AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE THAN 2 WEEKS LATE WITH PAYMENTS. THEIR HARASSMENT IS CONSTANT AND NEVER ENDING. I AM CURRENTLY UP TO DATE ON ALL BILLS. THE LAST STRAW WAS AFTER AT LEAST 10 PHONE CALLS FROM THEM, THEY AGREED THAT I COULD PAY THE BILL TODAY. I WAS CALLED TWICE AGAIN BEFORE EVEN GETTING HOME FROM WORK. I UNDERSTAND MY OBLIGATIONS, BUT NORMAL AND UPSTANDING BUSINESSES DO NOT START CALLING YOU, YOUR EMPLOYER, AND FAMILY AFTER A BILL IS 3 DAYS LATE. I WISH I HAD NEVER DONE BUSINESS WITH THEM.Desired Settlement: AN APOLOGY IN WRITING TO INCLUDE AN AGREEMENT NOT TO CALL ME EVER AGAIN, AND TO ONLY CORRESPOND BY USPS MAIL. THE AGREEMENT SHOULD ALSO STATE THAT THEY WILL NOT CONTACT MY EMPLOYER OR FAMILY BY PHONE EVER AGAIN, AND TO CORRESPOND WITH ONLY BY USPS MAIL IF AND WHEN BY ACCOUNT EVER EXCEEDS 60 DAYS. MY ACCOUNT IS UP TO DATE, AND ALL I ASK IS THAT THEY ADHERE TO NORMAL AND CORRECT BUSINESS PRACTICES. THEY ACT LIKE VULTURES!!!!!!

The complainant has been a customer with us since August 2013 and we do appreciate his business. The nature of our business is rent to own, which customers have the option to make their renewal payments weekly, biweekly

or monthly, the complainant chose to have his accounts set up with "weekly renewal payments". Our Rental Purchase Agreement states that all payments are to be made in advance, in the event of a late payment it is the responsibility of the customer to contact us to make arrangements for a renewal of the Rental Purchase Agreement. If the customer does not contact us we make an attempt to get ¡n touch with the customer to get the Rental Purchase Agreement current.

When the complainant placed his order with us he provided references that included his place of employment, relatives and friends as contacts, these contacts are used to reach the complainant if we cannot get a response from his home phone. On or about 6/14/2014 the complainant requested that we not contact his place of employment or references that included family members. Our records indicate that we have not attempted to contact him at any of these except for his home phone since his request was made.

The complainant failed to mention in his complaint that approximately 50% of his renewal payments have been made after the Rental Purchase Agreement expired and when we were not contacted by him our procedure was followed to contact the complainant to get the Rental Purchase Agreement current. We have also made attempts to contact him by USPS as well.

The complainant states in the complaint that the occurrence was 1/3/2014 and that he talked to us on 1/5/2014, 4/1/2014 and 7/14/2014, the complainant opened an additional account with us on 1/21/2014 which would indicate he was not dissatisfied with our business relationship.

The complainant further states that he would not like to be contacted until his account exceeds 60 days past due, this is not acceptable as our Rental Purchase Agreement states that all payments are to be paid in advance.

Our company adheres to all Fair Debt and Collections guidelines and practices and we strive to communicate with our customers in a professional and courteous manner.
