I've forgotten exactly how long we've dealt with Hometowne Energy. With the exception of one small problem with billing 1 time, we've been totally satisfied. The billing problem was taken care of quickly and courteously, no fuss, no muss. My delivery driver is a great guy, always upbeat, has a great sense of humor. We can't see switching ever.

Hometowne Energy has been serving our family for close to 30 years if not longer.
As my dad has aged, Hometowne Energy has dealt with us with the utmost respect and concern for him. It hasn't always been easy sorting through the discrepancies, but it has been with a desire to help us resolve all of our issues and come to an agreement that has helped us to fulfill our obligations.

Can’t say enough about Hometowne Energy. They are one of the constants you know you can count on. This business is trustworthy, honest and dependable.

Have been a customer for several years. Absolutely no complaints. Have always known they have a fair price which is even better with prebuy. Office personnel friendly, helpful when I have contacted them. Drivers considerate especially not using my driveway!!

I have been a customer for 14 years
Always great customer service and fast delivery. ??

I tried other propane suppliers in my area (Orleans County) and found they were more interested in themselves than my family's propane customer needs. Without mentioning names, the largest propane suppler in this area has a bad attitude to its customers (and it nickles and dimes you every time you call). I wanted a company that cared about us.
But Hometown is a different story. I was looking for a replacement service and Hometown wasted no time: scoping out our situation (I have my own in-ground tank), hooking us up, testing our lines, and providing us a contract without delay.
Hometown doesn't just take our money and forget about us; they give us useful information about our propane use and they offer us an annual winter pre-buy plus other discounts that save us well over $1 per gal on each purchase. They keep the tank full and they respond asap when we ask for information. Everyone I know who switches to them wishes they did it years ago. Thanks, Hometown for your great prices, discounts and responsive service.

I shop for my heating/energy needs yearly. Hometowne Energy has been my pricing and service winner for many years. I takes abit of time to gather the info and make the calls. Some of these suppliers play pricing games...delivery fees, fuel surcharges, hazmat fees and what have you added to every delivery. Sometimes its more than one of these added to your bill by some companies. If you are not careful you will pay more than you expected. Hometowne has never played that game. The price per gallon is what you pay. They are friendly and helpul on the phone, in person at your home of when visiting the office. I highly recommend them, but as always will shop my pricing and service to make sure they are working to keep me as their customer.

We have been doing business with Hometowne since 2014 after having used other propane suppliers and couldn't be more pleased. Their service is top notch and prices are always competitive. When hiccups have occurred, they have been promptly and fairly resolved. I always prefer doing business with local companies and they are a great example of why.

Hometowne Energy has been great. Questions are always answered and fuel is delivered promptly.

I was a long time customer of Grahams LP service in Newark, NY. Homtowne Energy bought out Grahams about fours years ago, may longer, I can't really remember. I wasn't certain how I would feel with Hometowne Energy. Grahams was always there for me, even when I needed a new furnace that I couldn't afford. They worked with me all the way. Since I've been with Hometowne, I've noticed the same customer courtesy and satisfaction. I'm logged into there website and I can pay my bills directly to them, order fuel if needed and etc. I haven't had the need for a furnace repair or replacement, but if needed, I believe they will be as courteous and helpful as Grahams was. I at this point would like to recommend Hometowne Energy as a fuel supplier.

I have been a customer for a couple of years. Hometowne Energy has always been prompt and polite when you call and ask questions. We never have to worry about running out of propane.

We have dealt with Hometowne for many years, and they have always provided us with great service! I would highly recommend them!

I have dealt with Hometon Energy for many years. They are always prompt with any service concerns and it is always good to deal with local people and not someone at a call center on the other side of the country or the world for that matter. I have always been totally pleased with them.

The people at Hometowne energy are very nice. When they came and hooked us up a few years ago they took a little time to play with our dogs. If people are ok with our dogs they're ok with us! We have had no problems with them at all.

Great customer service. They have always been there when we need them. Very professional!

Hometowne Energy was referred to me by my parents who have been using them for years for their Propane needs. Along with my parents, I am extremely satisfied with Hometowne's service. Anytime I have questions they're very friendly and quick to assist me! Every employee delivers exemplary service every time! I refer Hometowne Energy to all of my friends! Thank you for a stress free service!!

I have been a customer of Hometowne Energy for nearly 10 years and will continue to be one for many more.
Pricing is good and their customer service is the best!
Anytime I needed something they were there immediately to take care of any concerns.
I would and have recommended them to friends and family.

For starters- they don't know North from South. My mom and I live in a duplex and at the beginning of January she needed propane. She prepaid $400 and scheduled a delivery. When they came, they decided they would instead fill my already full tanks and leave me a bill on my door for $112. Why they thought my mom just paid them an extra $288 is beyond me.
Fast forward- I get home the night before we're scheduled for a huge snow storm to no heat. Considering our tanks had just been topped off AND we just had the warmest Jan/Feb in years, I knew there was no way we were out. Considering what had happened last time and knowing my mom had just run out again, I figured they intended to turn off her tanks to check for leaks and instead turned off mine.
INSTEAD I was rudely informed by their "customer service" manager that I was wrong. About everything. Not only had they not come and turn my tanks off, but I had allowed myself to run out of propane because I failed to check my tanks. I was also told that I was wrong about the weather! Apparently it wasn't all that warm and I surely used my furnace the entire time and used up all my propane. She ended the call by asking if I wanted to schedule a delivery since I was obviously out of propane. The only thing I'll be scheduling with Hometowne is for them to come get their lousy tanks off of my property!

Hometowne Energy Response • Mar 12, 2018

This letter is in rebuttal of a complaint filed by a ***. My name is Lisa P. and I am the Customer Service manager for Hometowne Energy co. Ms. is currently a propane customer of Hometowne Energy. We currently supply Ms. with 2 sets of tanks at her home at ***, *** NY. The details of these delivery sites, both on Hometowne Energy account number *** are: South side of home ( Our system's tank #l):Two (2) Hometowne supplied 420 pound propane tanks with a total usable capacity of 100 gallons each, 200 gallons total. These are at the South end of the duplex at this site. North side of home ( Our system's tank #2): Two (2) Hometowne supplied 420 pound propane tanks with a total usable capacity of 100 gallons each, 200 gallons total. These are at the North end of the duplex at this site. Ms. is on a WILL CALL delivery basis for both of these delivery sites and she is required to pre pay for all deliveries made to these tanks. A letter confirming this account status and customer responsibilities was mailed in December 2017. On 1/3/18 we received a *** credit card payment in the amount of $ 411.66 as a pre payment for a delivery to the NORTHSIDE tanks ( our tank #2). However, the ticket was logged incorrectly and the delivery of 49.2 gallons was actually made to the SOUTHSIDE tanks ( our tank #1). The customer called the office on 1/5 and informed us of our mistake. We then informed the dispatcher and instructed the driver to return to the site and deliver only 125 gallons to use the remaining dollar credit on the account, per the customer's request. The driver never received the information to make this correct delivery until the customer called back on 1/10/18. We then delivered , on 1/10/18, 125.6 gallons to the NORTHSIDE tanks ( our tank #2) as was originally ordered. This left the customer's •account with a balance of $ 1.16 for which she was not billed. Furthermore, the 1/10/18 phone call from the customer was the last contact that we had with the customer on this issue. On Thursday 3/1/18 at 7:48 pm, Ms. posted a publically shared comment on her own *** page saying that she was upset with Hometowne Energy and that her tanks were locked off and that she needed a delivery or propane. A mutual ( ***) friend saw the post and forwarded to me since they thought that would want to see it. I have printed, as best I can, the majority of this post as it was shared to me on my *** page and included with this letter. On Friday, 3/2/18 at 8:57 am I called Ms. to resolve the issue. Again, this *** post was our only indication that the customer was in need of assistance. Ms. had not called the office on 3/1/18. Since she didn't answer at that time, I left a message for the customer to call me back. On Friday 3/2/18 at 2:17pm, Ms. called our office and was transferred to me, since she was returning my call. I informed the customer that I had seen her *** post and that I understood there to be a problem with her propane tanks. I asked her if she had called the Hometowne office the night of 3/1/18 when she discovered that she had no heat. She said that she had called and had just heard a voice mail message, and hung up. I then explained that Hometowne Energy has an Emergency phone system and that was the recording that she had heard. If a Hometown Energy customer has a heating emergency, and they call our office during off hours, they are given instructions, via a recording, as to how to leave an emergency voice mail that will be returned by Hometowne personnel immediately. She did not leave a message and therefore, was not called back. As to her assertion that we had shut off her tanks, I told her that we had not been to her delivery sites since 1/4/18 and 1/10/18-the dates of the previous deliveries. I also told her that if she had no heat, as she had indicated, it was probably because she was out of propane. With the extremely cold weather in January and beginning of February, combined with our usage history on both tanks, our system was indicating that both of the sets of tanks were out of propane. I informed her that since she's on a will call delivery system, that it is her responsibility to watch her tanks and call the office and pre pay for deliveries when her tanks get low on product. Ms. disagreed with me. She felt that January and February had above average temperatures and there fore her tanks could not be out of propane as of March 1. She maintained that she had no heat because the tanks were locked. Please note: As I've said, Hometowne Energy has not been at her home since 1/10/18. Only Hometowne Energy personnel can lock these tanks since we own them, so that would have been the date that they were locked. We can confirm that these tanks WERE NOT SHUT OFF OR LOCKED on 1/4/18 nor on 1/10/18. Furthermore, If we had locked them that day, the customer would not have been able use the propane in them ever since that day. However, Ms, *** indicated that she had no heat only as of the date of 3/1/18. Finally, since the customer said that her I set of tanks was out of propane, I offered to put her on the schedule for propane deliveries to all of the tanks at her home that day, 3/2/18. The customer declined my offer, saying that she was not sure that she wanted us as a propane supplier any longer, to which I said ok. I told her to call us back if she changed her mind , to which she said that the only thing she'd call us for was to remove our tanks. After this phone conversation, the customer posted another publically posted comment on her *** page complaining about our phone conversation. Furthemore, she posted the same message that she sent to you in her complaint, on our Hometowne Energy *** page as well as on a *** review of our business. To date, she has not contacted our office to schedule a delivery nor to schedule her tanks to be removed. Please feel free to call me with any questions regarding this information. Sincerely, Lisa P.
