First and foremost we would like to apologize for any confusion that our advertising, or our representative relayed to this home seller We will buy any house, in any condition, as long as the math works out agreeable to both the seller of the house and us In most correspondence and literature that was provide to this seller, our standard statement that we purchase homes at a discount was included Sometimes this discount ends up that our offer will be below what someone owes on a house; as was the case with this seller In this case the property the seller had us visit had many incomplete house projects, that were left incomplete by contractors who took her money and left her stranded Plus, the property had additional repairs that would be required to meet standard guidelines for home appraisers Our business is to purchase broken homes and bring them back to life for a new homeowner to move into In most cases the new homeowner will have to acquire a loan to purchase the home And in order to acquire the loan, the house has to meet certain bank guidelines Those repairs were considered when we looked at this home sellers property We wish we could buy every house that we visit Unfortunately, many situations do not allow us to do so In this case the home seller owed more money on the property than it was worth after repairs were taken into consideration Our field representative handled things correctly because he was hopeful that our office could find a way to help the seller He came back to our office from the appointment at her house, reviewed all his findings and showed all calculations After looking through all the information it was determined it was too much of a project for the amount of money that was left in the deal after purchasing the home for the amount the home seller had hoped for We pride ourselves in trying to help as many home sellers as possible Even when situations do not meet the standard model that Homevestors uses to purchase homes, we try to bring creative solutions to the table to help home sellers sell properties in as easy a way as possible In this case the only solution that we could offer would be to connect her with a Realtor to list the home for sale in hopes of finding a retail buyer

Review: I contacted We Buy Ugly Houses. Spoke to and had an appointment to see my home. I was given a price of $21,000 to purchase my home. I told the rep. that my 30-day payoff was more than that. I counter-offered with $26,000. The rep. stated that he would be able to give me that amount. Then because I said, "you jumped on that figure so I’m thinking that maybe you should check and let me know if I can get more." Rep. stated that a Tuesday meeting is always held and they would get back to me. Well, no one did. E-mailing back and forth with the owner of this franchise, I was told that 'I needed to bring money to the table.' Hence, this is false advertising....because they do NOT buy ANY home in ANY condition - unless the owner brings money to the table. I'm quite disappointed. I will spread the word that the current Ad is less than desired and home owners should research the company because offering up your home. I was quite disappointed. If the company is sending out an incompetent employee who cannot determine the value of a house - maybe someone more experience in dealing with these matters should be hired. The slogan is...'We Buy Ugly Houses - any condition, any house' should be re-quoted to read...'Under Certain Conditions...We Buy Ugly Houses'. Imagine that... my house is too ugly for 'We Buy Ugly Houses...any house, any condition, any house'. Statement is not true!Desired Settlement: In a make believe world, everything we wanted, we would get. I wanted to sell my house ASAP but that wasn't to happen. I really would like to see the company change their Ad. When reading these giant billboards that are plastered all over - the public should know right off the bat that the company will not buy any house in any condition but under certain conditions. The public should not be mislead into believing that they house will sell no matter what without knowing the details. I give this company an 'F' rating!

In this case the property the seller had us visit had many incomplete house projects, that were left incomplete by contractors who took her money and left her stranded. Our business is to purchase broken homes and bring them back to life for a new homeowner to move into. In most cases the new homeowner will have to acquire a loan to purchase the home. And in order to acquire the loan, the house has to meet certain bank guidelines. Those repairs were considered when we looked at this home sellers property. We wish we could buy every house that we visit. Unfortunately, many situations do not allow us to do so. In this case the home seller owed more money on the property than it was worth after repairs were taken into consideration. Our field representative handled things correctly because he was hopeful that our office could find a way to help the seller. He came back to our office from the appointment at her house, reviewed all his findings and showed all calculations. After looking through all the information it was determined it was too much of a project for the amount of money that was left in the deal after purchasing the home for the amount the home seller had hoped for. We pride ourselves in trying to help as many home sellers as possible. Even when situations do not meet the standard model that Homevestors uses to purchase homes, we try to bring creative solutions to the table to help home sellers sell properties in as easy a way as possible. In this case the only solution that we could offer would be to connect her with a Realtor to list the home for sale in hopes of finding a retail buyer.
