I am rejecting this response because: Mr. A*** gave me a copy of a proposal, not a contract. He asked me to sign a contract which was requested by his wife. He did not give me a copy of the that contract. Mr. A*** knows very well that I was not happy with the damaged counter top in the kitchen, the poorly installed shower in the master bath, and the flooring installed throughout the house. Mr. A*** did state that he thought his foreman damaged the seam in the kitchen counter to create more billable hours. Regardless of my daughter's health issues, Mr. A***' workers should never have set up a table saw in the kitchen to cut the Pergo flooring sending sawdust throughout the house and into the ductingMr. A*** only began working in the garage after most of the flooring was installed and I expressed my concerns Mr. A*** did offer to have the ducting cleaned, but he did not. I have great concerns about the flooring having been installed over worn bamboo in the living room and hallway, and the flooring having been installed over the debris left from taking up the tile in the kitchen and dining area. Mr. A*** made no effort to refund the cost of taking up the existing flooring throughout the entire house, which he did not do, nor did he refund money I spent on lighting fixtures, faucets, bathroom sinks,a garbage disposal, and medicine cabinetsall of which he made allowances for. Since the master bath installation was poorly completed, Mr. A*** added trim to hide the flaws, and his saw blade was too dull which led him to bend the trim leaving an unsightly gap which he filled with caulk. All of these concern were expressed to MrA*** on numerous occasions which he disregarded I continued to make payments because I was under the impression that I was bound by a contract I continue to have concerns that Mr. A*** overcharged me and "cut too many corners" resulting in poor work qualityI am now in the process of collecting bids from other contractors I fear that I am going to spend thousands of additional dollars correcting Mr. A***'s work. As for the gift card, that was given as a courtesy toward the beginning of the work, not the end. Had I known that Mr. A*** was going to leave my house in such a poor state, I would not have been so generous

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:MrA*** charged me to remove the flooring throughout the house. He only removed the flooring in the dining and kitchen area and a small portion in the living room. He did not refund the cost of removing the flooring in the a large portion of the living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry area. MrA*** charge me $for replacing the water heater. He did not replace the water heater and he did not refund the costs. MrA*** charged me an allowance for the lighting fixtures, faucets, bathroom sinks, garbage disposal, and shower fixtures. I paid for all of those items and MrA*** made no attempt to make adjustments for the cost of those items. Mr. A*** agreed to put the deep sink in the garage. After removing the drywall in the laundry area he stated that the cost of putting the deep sink in the garage would be too costly, and so he installed the deep sink in the laundry area in the houseMrA*** also attempted to install a dryer exhaust material inside the wall which was only meant for external application from the back of the dryer to the wall. This material is now considered a a fire hazard in any application and is now being discontinued He later stated that he just didn't want to crawl under the house. He made no cost adjustment for placing the deep sink in the laundry room. MrA*** installed the the master bath shower improperly. He did not make for accurate measurements resulting in an improper fit of the shower floor and walls. The $shower door was not installed in a straight fashion and now the shower door is bowing in the opening door end and the screws are backing out of the shower wall. The shower nozzle was not anchored properly and wobbles in the wall. Mr. A*** caulked some portions of the shower and missed other areas all together. MrA*** did not have a sharp saw blade on his saw to trim the shower molding, and he bent the molding with an improper fit to the shower wall. I have great concerns about Mr. A*** taking up a small portion of the flooring in the living room and then stated that the total removal would be too costly. He floated the new flooring over the existing bamboo flooring which had cupped leaving an uneven surface with ridges for the new flooring to rest upon. Also, Mr. A*** removed the tile from the dining room and kitchen floor. He asked his worker to apply floor stone to the tears in the existing laminate. The floor stone was applied in gobs and was not sanded before the new particle board was applied. Sandy grout particles were also left on the floor and the floor was not properly cleaned or swept, leaving and uneven surface to apply the particle board. I myself, finally became frustrated with MrA*** shabby work and provided and Shop Vac. I have expressed to MrA*** my concerns that the flooring will not last as long as it should because of the poor installation. MrA*** told me that he charged me $a square foot to remove the old flooring and install the new flooring. The current rate is $a square foot according to a representative at Home Depot. After bring this to Mr. A***'s attention, he made not effort to make an adjustment.MrA***'s workers set up a table saw in the house to cut the flooring. He did not drape the door ways and sawdust floated into all of the rooms and into the floor furnace ducting. My daughter has serious respiratoryhealth issues. Since moving into the house she has had pneumonia and sinus infection, both requiring the use of antibiotics. As for the kitchen counters, MrA*** told me that he thought that his foreman intentionally damaged the main seam in the counter to create more billable hours. Mr. A*** tried repeatedly to repair the damaged seam with poor results, and I finally repaired the seam myself with the damage still visible.MrA*** stated that he would be done by November's end and he was still working on the house in March causing a great hardship trying to move in. I needlessly paid an extra months rent on the apartment I was living in thinking I would be able to paint the interior before moving in.Apparently, Mr. A*** feels that he should overcharge, take money for service he has not completed, and "cut corners" providing a poor quality of work. Senior citizens are not exempt from his work ethic
Sincerely,
*** ***

I feel that Ms. [redacted] has not responded to her first complaint that she did not get a copy of the contract and the fact that we wet over the costs together. Every repair I did Ms. [redacted] accepted. I or anyone else in this business would not tell any customer that we are doing a job this way to create more billable hours. I bid by the job not the hours. I was never informed about the nature of her daughters condition, we took everything to the garage for prep. $3 per square feet is what I charge. Lower prices by Lowe's Home Depot are backed by manufacturers and suppliers. I feel that Ms. [redacted] and I are at an impasse right now and there is nothing I can say or do to help remedy this situation. Ms. [redacted] keeps accusing me of things and does not acknowledge anything that I have explained in my response. If Ms. [redacted] was so unhappy about my work why did she give me a $100.00 gift card at Chirstmas, continue paying the installments on the contract that she signed? I did what I was contracted to do.Sincerely,Bruce A[redacted]

approximately 1/8" x 1 1/2". Correction was done. Shower drain line was changed to white. Surround trim was applied to client's approval to cover all corners. Seam on kitchen counter top was repaired nicely. Sound was not heard when washer and dryer were running. Owner, myself, and plumber from Judson's Plumbing (charge for plumber was $116.00), were all present. I personally paid for the plumber. Rest of the floor tear out was applied to stone removal, we thought it was only 3/4" thick not upto 2 1/2". Owner did not want the water heater at this time, the total was deducted from her estimate. I apologized for the length of time it took to do the repairs. The grab bar in the shower is the only item that has not been completed. Ms. [redacted] did give me a $100.00 gift card at Christmas.
