Review: On or about 4/4/2014 I contracted with Omar *. S[redacted] of Hominy Ridge Roofing and Builders, to tear off and overlay my garage roof and tear out and re-shingle a valley that connects a porch to the main house. Along with the contractors estimate were two brochures indicating what is included in their roof repair. (two year workmanship warranty)The project began on 4/24/2014 a bit late but at least he was here. As they began to set up one of the workers accidently backed the dump trailer into the block wall of the garage dislodging several blocks. I told the foreman ok no worries it can be fixed. All he needs to do is get me some mortar mix and I will fix it so they can get my roof done. The foreman sent a workman to get the cement along with ridge vent only to return with out the cement. So I had to drive out and get the cement myself and complete the repair. Ok that is now behind us and they are almost finished when I notice that there is a location in the new plywood that I contracted to be replaced is sagging between the rafters. I said something to the foreman ( Henry ) that the plywood is sagging, it is new plywood. Henry said it is because the rafter is sagging and all I had to do was go into the attack and place a 2+4 under it. Not so easy as the bottom of the roof is also the ceiling. Long and short of it is the plywood should not sag between rafters for any reason and I had to cut through the sheet rock and screw a 2+6 between the rafters to repair their poor workmanship.Last but not least, a week or so later the valley they replaced developed a leak. I contacted Omar explaining where I thought it was coming from and his response to me was how they do this work all the time and they know how to install a roof that doesn't leak and the leak could be 50 feet away. I told Omar that this was not here before he did the work. I found the leak, 12 shingles tabs were torn and 6 nail holes were open under the valley tie in. I sealed the holes and repaired the tabs. Poor work, no warrantyDesired Settlement: I spent $73 in material plus gas and my time to repair defective workmanship. The contractor never did return to investigate my claims. I expect him to refund me $100 for the repairs.
