Homm Certified Painting Systems Reviews (2)

Mr. [redacted],
0in 0in 0pt;">Hi, as per your voice message from last week I understand
you are having peeling problems with the chimney again.
As per the scope of work; I can confirm that we did scrape,
prime and spot painted the  areas that were peeling from the previous
paint job. Since this problem is still present, here are the steps that I
suggest we follow to determine the cause of the problem:
There is a high probability that there is
a lot of moisture content  that is causing the paint to peel (i.e. water
filtering). Since we are at winter time, the snow and rain probably could be
causing this.
Question: were there any masonry or brick repairs
done on that specific area of the chimney prior to the peeling (1st
time it happened – prior to “our” repairs)? If so, please provide details.
If we need to have a closer look to see the
condition of the surfaces, we could proceed when the weather gets warmer,
therefore I would touch base in the Spring.
Sincerely,

Andres

Review: I contracted with Homm to provide some minor painting on the upper portion of the brick chimney on my home. I specifically asked that the surface be scraped and wire brushed removing all the loose paint and brick. I then wanted the surface painted with a masonry primer and then latex finish coat. All that I saw was the completed job one afternoon in a very short period of time. I called Homm to verify that their workers scraped and primed as I requested and they answered yes. This was November, 2014. In early January, I noticed substantial peeling on the chimney in exactly the place where the repair was performed. If the job had been done properly, I would not have peeling in 2 months. I've called Homm twice and left messages and sent an email. The only reply I received was an advertising email offering 15% off -- no phone calls after 3 weeks.Desired Settlement: Homm should come back, scrape and wire brush the upper part of my chimney, prime the surface with an appropriate masonry primer, and finish paint matching the rest of the chimney.
