Honda of Downtown Los Angeles

Earlier this year I purchased a certified 2013 Civic si from Honda of downtown Los Angeles in January 2015 and to my surprise, a few months later my car broke down on me. I took it to a local Honda dealership to get it checked. They told me that the clutch was completely worn out and that I have to pay the repairs and replacement of the clutch in full since it is not covered under the warranty. Bear in mind I just bought this car 3 months ago from when it broke down, it only had about 13,000 miles on it and now it has 15,000 miles. I assure you I am well experienced with manual transmission vehicles and I did not abuse the clutch - especially when I have only driven it for 2,000 miles. I have reason to believe it was the previous owner who abused the clutch leaving me in this unreasonable situation.

I want to believe that Honda can live up to their slogan as "helpful Honda dealers." Unfortunately, everyone I've contacted thus far has not been able to help at all. It is unacceptable that when I put my trust in this dealership and purchased what I thought was a "certified" Honda vehicle it only took 3 months, 2,000 miles, for it to break down - I'm only grateful that I noticed it soon enough for me to still be able to bring it into a dealer before something tragic happened to me. It makes it hard for me to believe anything Honda says is true. What kind of certification was actually done, if any? When I or anyone thinks of "certified" - and you can correct me if I'm wrong - but should it not have gone through quality inspection to prevent such a breakdown? Especially after only 3 months of driving? I can't stress that enough. And after already agreeing on the initial price of the car, I am now being asked to pay for a brand new clutch? I may as well have bought a new car instead.

When I hear those advertising commercials about "random acts of kindness" for Honda, it makes me wonder why they can't even help an actual customer of theirs. I am not happy nor satisfied with my experience.
