In response to the above complaint, Mr*** visited our dealership and purchased a vehicle and was aware that it was being sold to him entirely in "as is" conditionIn fact, Mr*** initialed and signed several documents stating that he acknowledged this fact and was willing to
purchase the vehicle
Weeks later the vehicle arrived at our dealership with the claim that there was a problem with the transmissionAfter examining the vehicle, there was a great deal of damage to the transmission that suggested that the vehicle may have been abusedRegardless of it's appearance or the fact that Mr*** purchased the vehicle strictly "as is", are dealership offered to find a transmission for them and absorb the costs of laborThey would have to pay for the cost of the transmissionWe were told that our offer wasn't good enough and that they would take the vehicle somewhere else to be repaired
Our dealership makes every effort to insure that any vehicle we sell be in good condition and that they pass safety requirementsIf we feel a vehicle is unsound, we do not offer it for saleIn fact, we sell a great number of "as is" vehicles that have had no issues
In summary, Mr***'s Complaint has no warrantHe purchased a vehicle fully aware that there would be no guarantees on it, and signed all the documentation confirming that he knew he was buying it "as is" and would be solely responsible for any issues that could occurHis statement that we made no offer to help is untrueWe offered to absorb the costs of laborHe chose to take the vehicle somewhere else to have it repaired

No offer was made to me about "free labor"The offer was for a new transmission for close to $We were able to get a refurbished one for $
As far as the accusation that the transmission was abused, how can that be possible within a few weeks of being sold....unless it was already on its last legs when it was sold to usI strongly suggest you re-vamp your security tests on used cars that you offer for salePlease check your notes and recall that we brought the vehicle back on day and you agreed to replace the radiator that also failed
I am not disputing the "as-is" terminology, I accept thatI just felt that the customer service was horrible and the dealerships lack of willingness to try and keep a customer from being unsatisfied very unprofessionalSincerely,*** ***
