I have reviewed this file and I apologize for timing, I had to pull up information from 3 sales managers and service manager that were involved with Mrs. B[redacted].  The customer purchased an advertised Used Car at Advertised Price back in early December of 2017.  There are no “extra” fees as...

mentioned in customer’s email anywhere on their contract. The confusion is stemming from the customer not understanding that the “finance charge” for the duration of the loan is what they will ultimately will pay to the lender and not us. There is a disconnect between the customer not understanding that financing a vehicle will incur finance charges.     The vehicle that the customer purchased had been inspected and gone through smog and safety by a Toyota dealer prior to sale.    On December 26th, the customer brought in the vehicle to our service department.  Upon inspection of their vehicle,  our  Technician’s visually saw the damages caused by rodents.  We have explained to the customer that rural areas and non-pavement parking will cause rodents to climb into vehicles during cold weather and will cause damages.    To further investigate the rodent damages,  we gave the customer a rental car for the day and took the vehicle for more inspection at Thousand Oaks Toyota, and the diagnostic came out the same,  rodent damage.  We have offered in “ goodwill”  to absorb some of the costs with discounts to get the customer’s car fixed, but the customer is under the impression that we are fully liable for repairs such as the rodents damaging the wiring harness in the car.  We would wish to offer the customer again, discount and fix their car.  Again,  we were in a position to help the customer and offered to turn in the current car for a new one for similar payments and the customer refused, citing they do not want to buy a Honda and they were here to purchase a Toyota.  We offered a discount to fix the current vehicle and the customer refused.  If the customer changes their mind,  we would be happy to assist and offer a discount to repair their vehicle. Review: I purchased a 2013 Mazda 2 Sport Hatchback from Honda of Thousand Oaks on Saturday October 11.With a cosigner I signed a 60 month Financial contract and paid a $2000 down payment for the vehicle. I told them I received income via the Post-9/11 GI BILL to which they told me it wasn't a problem since I had a cosigner. I gave them my information and a print out of my payment history. They told me this was all they needed.A week later the dealership contacted me explaining that the bank needs more information regarding my pay and they aren't going to approve the financing I was told was already approved.I called the bank that my loan was "approved" through and they are telling me that they have none of my information on file and DID NOT request more information.I believe that they caught me and my cosigner in a "Yo-Yo Car sale trap" and are going to try to take the Vehicle back from me.Desired Settlement: I would like to keep my vehicle with no extra or hidden charges.
