Customer came in and technician noted that windshield was cracked prior to service, Customer had a brake concern when dropping off car and told he was going to Colorado and upon our brake inspection found uneven wear in inner and outer brake pads indicating sticking calipers, with the extra stress the the hilly terrain of Colorado we recommended new calipers, erring on the cautious side, We told the customer our techs opinion and left it at that, did NOT push repair on him, and he opted not to do repair here, Our opinion is the calipers should be changed with the pads for optimum braking power

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/02/27) */
Car came making a lot of noise and not running well, we found that the timing was off teeth because the tensioner had gone bad causing the customers concernIt was possible the interference engine he had may have been ruined, but after
replacing the Timing components the engine noise went awayHe still had some issues with a couple of sensors which we replaced and the engine ran greatNoise went away and we had saved his engineThe check light came on after he left and he brought it back and we found some wiring had meltedWe repaired that at a discounted price because of the work he had done here, even thought it wasnt part of the timing componentsThe car has miles on it and the wiring wasn't part of his concernWhat he brought it in for was repairedWe dont warranty other issues that arise Those are separate repairs that the customer is responsible for
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/02/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When you repaired the loud engine I was told that the sensor was bad and they replaced itThey decided not to deulve further into the cause which is why I had to have it checked for a third timeThe first time I brought the car in they gave me no choice but to fix it because either way they planned in billing me for a car that wasn't worth the repairsThey straight up lied to me and told me the car was worth saving and in the end I lost thousands of dollars because of me being naive and them being dishonestIf they will not meet my refund amountI work in customer service and see over customers on a given day and tell them of my horror storyI also might see legal council for unethical practices
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/03/05) */
The customer was always informed of the cost of the repairs throughout the repair processnothing was done without his authorizationIt is ultimately his decision whether the car is worth savingI do not understand his dishonest claimThe car had way more than a sensor wrong with it, as I indicated before it had jumped time and would barely run and the engine was knockingThose concerns were addressed and repaired

These people are scammersI have tried to resolve an issue with "Honest" auto care on Lyndale for nearly a year nowRecently, they hung up the phone on meI have now submitted the UPS "Form 1500" to stop them from sending me junk mailMy only other recourse at this point is to alert others not to patronize this business

I have called customer and left him a message that he was right that the verbiage in our MERSC program didn't say anything about hazardous waste charge or anything about about the up to 5 quarts disclaimer. I will refund his money or give...

him a certificate for a free oil change, whichever he prefers. I will be getting that verbiage corrected.
Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2015/01/27) */
This complaint was satisfactorily resolved with the business, who provided a refund for the requested amount as credit on a future service
