The owner of this company, Darrell [redacted] has been a nightmare First he showed up to look at the job and give an estimate without the proper tools needed When it came time to order the materials involved he wanted me to give him the money and let him do the ordering so he could get a cutThe day that he showed up to do the work involved he asked for a check for the entire amount quoted in spite of the job not being completed finished( My mistake was giving him the check as he asked and believing that he would show up to finish the workAnd later I should have followed my intuition and stopped payment on the check until the work was completed.) He didn't give me a receipt or lien waiver as requested and he committed to multiple specific times to come back and complete the work and then didn't show up or contact me to tell me that he wouldn't be here One of his employees damaged my window frames beyond repair with his inferior work and I found it necessary to find a contractor to take the existing window frames down and completely replace them and pay the costs involved myself I had to get the building permit myself because he is not licensed and there were issues with the city inspection that he should have been responsible for that now fall to me since I was the one who obtained the building permit (Please note that he is not bonded or licensed) That tells one something right there I am now taking this matter to small claims court to compel him to make good on his promise to replace my new window screen which he put a hole in and cover the costs of the damage he caused which so far I have paid for After writing him a letter to try and come to an agreement to get issues taken care of his response to my letter was basically to tell me to take a long run off of a short pier If you are thinking of hiring him--RUN!!!
