Response:

Honey Do Men Gutters was at [redacted] in [redacted] on 6/**/14 at 12:28 PM to clean the gutters, which we did as per the photos. Also, as per company policy, we would leave a receipt in the mailbox so the clients would know we were there. We have been cleaning this clients gutters since 2005 and there have never been any complaints until late fees were added to their invoice. I don't understand this complaint. We provided a service and expect payment for that service. There are late fees added to the invoice because it is 8 months past due. Attached are the photos and receipt of when we went to their house and cleaned the gutters. I think this is terrible that a long standing client or anybody for that matter would write a complaint without talking to a person at the company that will put a black mark on a company reputation. Even if this is resolved in Honey do Men's favor, it will still reflect badly for us, so Thanks![redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. Complaint#[redacted] regarding Honey-Do-Men [redacted] has been resolved. No further action is required. Thank you. [redacted]. Phone# [redacted]

Honey Do men was Great!!! Darrell was awesome to work with. He gave us a really great price on some work for the bathroom. His worker was very nice and clean. They showed up on the day on time. He also walked me and my wife through the whole process of what he was doing and kept everything nice and clean. I would recommend them for any of your home improvement. THANKS AGAIN Darrell and honey Do Men!!!

Review: Unbeknownst to me at the time, in 2012 Honey Do Men improperly re-pitched the gutters on my house at an estimated cost of $107.38. The result of this improper pitching was Honey Do Men selling me an additional $241.59 in additional gutter/leader upgrades. I cannot speak to whether this was simple negligence on their part or up-selling gone awry. In any case the company representatives, being experts in their field, could reasonably be expected to know that most of home's rainwater was flowing through the gutter to the side of the house that I had, and continue to have, ongoing issues with. These amounts are based on documents the company has shared, and I cannot recall if they have done additional work based on the improperly pitched gutters.

Further, on June ** a representative from Honey Do Men visited my home to provide me with an estimate of what it would cost to solve the problems I was still experiencing with water flow in the gutters. Instead of providing me with a written estimate, the salesman undertook a cleaning of the gutter and charged me $134.22. He recommended that I power-wash the gutters to remove any residual dirt that had accumulated. At the time, I thought nothing of the charge for the cleaning, and paid the bill in good faith. I then cancelled the scheduled cleaning that was to take place the following week (the Honey Do Men technicians still arrived the following week to attempt to undertake the work). Upon reflection, I realized that I never authorized Honey Do Men to undertake the cleaning of the gutter. Further, when I undertook the power washing that the salesman recommended, I realized that the gutters were never properly re-pitched. Had the gutters been properly re-pitched, the additional products and related labor I was sold would most likely not have been required.Desired Settlement: I respectfully request a refund of $134.22 for the work that was carried out without a signed estimate or my concurrence. I further request a refund of an additional $348.97 for the work that was carried out as a result of Honey Do Men not having properly addressed the gutter's pitching in the first instance.

I have tried to deal with this issue with the service staff at the office who were rude and unprofessional. After scheduling an appointment to meet with me and cancelling it 30 minutes after the agreed upon time, I have tried to deal with this issue with the [redacted] by phone and email. He was rude, insulting, condescending and unprofessional.

ID [redacted]

The following are the facts that we have documented from [redacted];

On March *, 2012 @ 1:55 PM, [redacted] emailed [redacted]

his findings when he went to [redacted] as per attached. ** recommended upgrading the outlets to 4” and the leaders to 3” X 4”. Also, to

extend the upper leaders into the lower gutters, this work was not approved by

[redacted] as per the attached email.

On May *, 2012 @ 3:19 PM, [redacted] email [redacted], the

salesman his permission and approval for Honey do Men to do a gutter cleaning

for $250 + tax and to re-pitch the right front gutter for $100 +tax. Honey do

Men completed the work on 5/**/12 due to the fact that the client wanted the

work done ASAP. Attached information.

On May **, 2012 @ 10:48 AM, [redacted] emailed [redacted]

stating that the work we did fixed the problem and that the gutter was now

properly pitched as per attached email.

On May **, 2012 @ 9:34 AM, [redacted] email [redacted]

stating that he wanted to go ahead with the front right leader and outlet

upgrade, as per attached email.

Then on October **, 2012, Honey do Men went to [redacted]’s residence at [redacted], NY and did a gutter cleaning.

We did not hear from [redacted] until June 2014 when he

called stating he was having issues with the gutters overflowing.

On June **, 2014, [redacted] went to meet with [redacted]

and diagnose the problem. While there, [redacted] cleaned out the front lower

gutter at both ends by the strainers and removed a branch from the right upper

gutter as per invoice #[redacted] that is attached to this email.

On June **, 2014, [redacted] was given a typed estimate

for the work needed to fix the problems of his gutters as per estimate #[redacted] attached.

In July 2014, [redacted] again went to look at the gutters

and talk to [redacted] about what should be done. [redacted] was told again

that he should get a larger gutter for the front lower roof to handle the water

runoff from the roof.

On August *, 2014 @ 1:10 PM, I emailed [redacted] in

regard to re pitching the left gutter and what the cost would be as per

attached email. [redacted] and I went back and forth with our emails and

ended with myself setting up an appointment with the [redacted] to meet with him and

to go over previous work and to figure out what needed to be done to resolve

the gutter issue.

On August **, 2014 in the morning, The [redacted] and [redacted] met to go over all the issues that [redacted] had

with our work. Everything was working well. If the gutters stay clean they won't have a

problem. [redacted] removed the birdcage, plugged up the leader, flooded the

gutter and then let it drain. There were no issues or overflows, the

system works perfectly. The result of the meeting was as follows;

•There is a small roofing issue causing water to go

behind the gutter called short shingle flashing that's needed on the front

right.

•The water runoff from your roof can be handled by the 5” gutter that you have,

however if you want us to guarantee that your gutter will not overflow due to

water volume, you need to upgrade to a 6" gutter that ** suggested for $650.

•But, the larger gutter doesn't resolve the problems with leaves and clogs.

They need Gutter Shell installed on the lower front porch roof. It's the only

thing that'll keep the gutters from clogging and overflowing from debris and

also takes care of the short single problem. Cost $750

As for the unprofessional tone and tenor from all at

Honey do Men, we do not appreciate when a client calls and insults the office

staff, technicians, the quality of work done, and the sales team, and we let

the client know when they have stepped over the line.

The Honey do Men sales team give estimates for

solving the problems that the home[redacted] tells us about. An estimate is our

professional opinion on what should be done to repair the problem. We are not

responsible if the client choose to put a band aid on the problem, which is a

temporary fix, instead of repairing the problem the correct way.

As per all the paperwork and emails attached, we

have done everything in our power to help [redacted]. However, we are not

willing to refund his money for work that was done and done correctly.

I would like to have the statement that [redacted]

made of there being 5 complaints against Honey do Men on Revdex.com retracted because

I deal with all the Revdex.com complaints and the others were dismissed for not being

valid. Please do the same with this complaint.

This is a good company that does a good job and we all stands

behind it.

Thank

you,

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

The vendor has simply re-stated their past arguments. Work was done improperly on the home in 2012 and was brought to light by undertaking a cleaning recommended by their technician after he undertook work he was not authorized to take in June 2014. The vendor has not taken responsibility for the improper re-pitching in 2012 which lead to additional upgrades and services being purchased from them. The [redacted] has sent taunting emails about how he is going to not have to pay me what he owes me not because the work was done correctly, but because too much time has passed since the work was done. I submit that the technician's unauthorized work on the gutter and recommendation to powerwash the gutters ties the all of the work together and therefore I am entitled to reimbursement for the unauthorized work and fair and proper compensation for the work done without properly addressing the gutter's pitch, which was a service I paid for.

Response:

8/**/14 -

I am really not sure what the question is, but here goes,

The client, [redacted] is not entitled to/nor will he receive a refund for work completed properly 2 years ago.

No, we will not go back and redo the work [redacted] hired us to do since the work was done per [redacted]'s instructions.

Thank you

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The vendor continues to neglect to address the matter at the heart of the complaint.

It was the vendor who agreed to re-pitch the gutters of my house to alleviate the waterfall and overflow on the right hand side.

Their solution did not work and as a result, they sold me more products and services to address the issue.

This negligence on their part has yet to be addressed.

The vendor also undertook work on my home without my permission as outlined in my initial complaint.

The vendor has gone so far as to send antagonistic, taunting emails to me to dissuade me from pursuing this matter.

Review: On 4/**/2013 a check was provided in the amount of $1256.29 to this company by the** year old customer for roof restoration at [redacted]. This check has since been cashed. As of today 6/**/2013 service has not been completed. Several phone calls have been made by the ** year old customer and the company either does not return phone calls or when contact is actually made the company is unaware of the account and seems to have lost paperwork. The New York State Police were contacted on 6/**/2013. After a 2 day investigation assisting the customer it was determined by the New York State Police that the company seems to have forgotten about the service that had already been paid in full for. Several excuses have been provided by the company as to what has happened. The New York State Police were advised that service will be provided tomorrow 6/**/2013, weather permitting. If the weather does not permit, work will be completed 6/**/2013. The company advised the New York State Police they will make telephonic contact with the customer today. This an unreasonable and excessive delay. This service was paid in full 46 days ago. The customer is** years old. This is unacceptable.IDesired Settlement: It is requested that this company complete the work in the next 3 days or issue a full refund immediately.

Business

Response:

Due to the rainy weather that we were dealing with at the time of this job, April & May, our scheduling was behind with getting jobs out in a timely manner. Due to our safety protocol and procedures we did not send installers out. This job was completed to the clients satisfaction. This is a weather dependent company, which means that if the weather is bad, we do not sent our guys out for safety reasons.

Review: [redacted] of Honey Do Men came out to assess a cracked cement floor in my garage and provided an estimate for the work -- about $1,800. I gave him a check for $800, the remainder due on completion of job. When his repair workers came out, they said that because of the cracks in the foundation, the work was beyond their scope and resurfacing the cement floor would not be effective. They reported this to [redacted]. He sent me an email stating that I could either proceed with the surface fix with no guarantee, or have my check refunded. I asked for my $800 check to be returned. This all occurred in mid-May. When I had not received a refund after more than a week, I phoned him and he gave me the bookkeeper's name -- [redacted] -- whom I have phoned at least four times over the last two weeks and again today. She claims to have cut a check but that it has not been signed/authorized by someone named [redacted]. To date I have no refund, and more than six weeks have passed.Desired Settlement: I want my $800 returned. No work was performed by Honey Do. My heck should not have been cashed, but instead should have been returned to me as soon as the workers assessed that the garage foundation problem was bigger than they could handle.

Business

Response:

When the work crew went to this client's house to do the surface work on the garage floor, they noticed there were cracks in the foundation. The crew explained that they couldn't do they work with any warranty and told the client that we would refund her deposit of $800.00. The deposit was given to the client on 6/**/13, check #[redacted].
