Honor Park on Main

Review: I occasionally park my vehicle at this "honor" parking lot and arrived around 8:30 am on June 4, 2014. Leaving my office at 4:30pm my vehicle was gone,and was towed around 12:30pm according to the tow truck personnel. I parked my vehicle in the parking space and inserted the money in the appropriate slot on the top row (and not among the bottom or middle rows). I could not get confused about my parking space number because on one side, the parking space was empty and the other side was not. But this day unfortunately, I backed into the parking space, and I believe, making it easy on this occasion for my vehicle to be towed. With my being familiar with the area businesses and the many, many years passing by this parking lot, my gut feeling tell me that something is not proper. (I walked by this morning, June 5th, and nothing in my sight nor mind revealed anything differently that I parked in "this space" and inserted my money in "this slot".)Honor Park on Main is on the [redacted] campus area and the parking attendant that collects the money from the parking slots recognize me and my vehicle--I have greeted him many times when parking, leaving, or just passing by. I do not doubt that he recognize others as well. Yet during this time of year, most students have left the campus for the summer and there are very few cars on this lot. (The lot holds approximately 30 numbered parking spaces.) Despite the convenience in location, less people have parked their vehicles on the parking lot in the last five years or more, and it is NEVER full, even when contractors are working in the area.The problems are: (1)I cannot prove that my money was placed in the correct numbered slot; (2) the attendant cannot prove I parked in the incorrect parking space. Under these circumstances, the "scam" can easily occur intermittently, and over and over again. "Honor Park on Main" does not issue receipts. The only receipt I held in my hand was the invoice for $144.00-- towing charge and parking ticket fee.Desired Settlement: #1) Make no mistake about it--I want a refund!#2) I want people in the area to BE AWARE!#3) Thirdly, provide a mechanism for receipts so that if people insert money in the incorrect parking slot, it will serve as a means of accountability for the the driver AND parking attendant. I would rather insert $5 in the incorrect numbered slot and pay another $5 for the correct parking space than paying out over $100 in towing and parking charges.
