vehicle not in compliance with the parking policy for the complex, this included Mr. [redacted] vehicle, which was displaying expired 30-day tag (see attached photo of tag) Mr. [redacted] vehicle was impounded Friday (3/20) evening at 10pm and called in to FCSO, reported to tech 22 with run #47948. It was not the only vehicle impounded from that location that evening.
Our office was open from 8am-1pm Saturday (3/21), and the majority of the vehicles impounded from [redacted] the previous night were redeemed during that time. Mr. [redacted] did not contact our office until Saturday at 1:46pm, with the call being answered after hours as a courtesy. During his call, after discussing the reason for the vehicle being impounded, Mr. [redacted] threatened legal action and the call was terminated. He and a female, presumably his spouse, left several voicemails after the initial call, most referencing some type of litigious action. Prior to returning his call, it was verified that this vehicle is registered to [redacted] at [redacted], that the car was purchased 2/12/15 with clear title being issued on 2/19/15, and that the registration expired 3/14/15.
His calls were returned Sunday (3/21) morning. During this conversation, Mr. [redacted] explained that he was aware of the expired temp tag, was supposedly awaiting his metal plates to be mailed from OBMV, and that he had purchased the vehicle paid in full and was in possession of the clear title. It was explained to him that the OBMV does not mail new metal plates for newly purchased vehicles, which has been verified by the OBMV, and that it was his responsibility to personally go to an OBMV office to acquire valid plates. It was also explained that a vehicle displaying an expired temp tag is not legally registered and thereby illegal to be driven on the public roadway, and as such per their parking policy, is not to be parked on the property of [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] voiced that he had contacted Columbus Police to report the vehicle stolen and that he was fearful of prosecution for filing a false report. He was informed that his complex is in FCSO jurisdiction, not CPD, that the vehicle was reported as impounded to FCSO, and that IF CPD took a report, he needed to contact them to clear the report so as to not cause unnecessary issues for himself once he had redeemed his vehicle. Mr. [redacted] was given the opportunity to redeem his vehicle between 8a-12pm or 8p-10:30p on Sunday, but refused to do so.
Per state law and legal, Mr. [redacted] will be responsible for providing proof of ownership, valid license plates/registration, valid insurance, and valid state or federal identification, and will be responsible paying the outstanding bill due at the time of redemption. The bill will not be discounted as there were available times for redemption that Mr. [redacted] chose not to utilize.

Mr. [redacted] did indeed purchase the car (2002 Lincoln with 132K miles) for $2100, prior to which he was informed of all known issues and had test driven the vehicle. He was also informed this was an AS IS sale, without warranty. He even took a week to think about the purchase between first...

looking at the car and the actual transaction.
As far as the title, we signed off on the back of the title and did not note an amount, as he stated he would take care of it. He contacted us afterwards stating he had difficulty finding a notary due to the weekend and holiday and we directed him to a notary who knew us personally.
Mr. [redacted] had been driving the vehicle for over 10 days before contacting us stating he was having issues with the transmission. We arranged for towing of the vehicle for Mr. [redacted] and directed him to reputable repair facilities, and informed him that no such issue was known with the vehicle prior to his call and reiterating that the vehicle was sold AS IS, and he was given ample opportunity to check out the vehicle prior to sale. On Feb 24, he contacted us regarding the transmission issues. Two days later, after we had arranged for the tow of his vehicle, he started sending disparaging remarks in text message because we were not fixing the issue. He was informed again numerous times that this was an AS IS sale and that he had been informed of all known issues with the vehicle. There had never been any transmission issues of which we were aware. While we feel for the issues Mr. [redacted] is facing, the transaction was completed 10 days prior to the transmission problems, including several snow emergency days. These texts continued for several days until Mr. [redacted] was informed to not contact us again.
We have done all that we are going to do for Mr. [redacted] at this time.

I am rejecting this response because: It is completely false. I have all texts that were exchanged. A civil lawsuit will be filed against said business and the owner.  [redacted], who can be reached at [redacted] was a witness to the transaction that was done in a completely shady manner. The vehicle has been junked. Two certified mechanics checked the vehicle out and can attest that there were "precautions" taken to hide said transmission issue. This business was never helpful in anyway Of resolving said dispute. The news has already been notified, and will continue to be updated until we deem a time to go public.

On May 22, 2015, Ms J[redacted]'s car was ordered impounded by management for parking in a drive lane and blocking another vehicle, as the picture attached shows (see yellow curb).  Prior to the vehicle being removed from the property, she was offered the drop fee several times, which she...

refused every time,. Also, prior to its removal, she claimed that her apartment had just been broken into. She was advised to call the police and not worry about the car. Security guards verified this was not the case so the vehicle was removed. After which, she then changed her statement that it had not JUST been broken into, but another apartment she USED to live in. Three Columbus police cruisers responded to her call, only to again determine this was a false claim made to elicit the return of her car. That evening,Ms. J[redacted] was permitted to gather her personal items from the vehicle and opted to not pay the impound fees at that time. While at our lot, she voiced that they would try to come up with the money for release within the weekend. Tuesday, the lienholder, in whose name the car is titled, decided not to allow Ms. J[redacted] to retrieve the vehicle, placed it under repo status and reclaimed the can. All of which is under their legal rights as titled owner and lienholder.
Should Ms. J[redacted] wish to retrieve her vehicle, she needs to contact them, as our business dealings with her are concluded. In our opinion, this complaint, paired with her attempt at filing a false breaking-and-entering complaint, and her abandonment of the previous vehicle of hers that we had impounded for expired temporary tags (she told us specifically she wouldn't pay for it and to let the finance company have it back), demonstrate defamatory and deliberately erroneous remarks bordering on criminal.
