I received a phone call from this gentleman on Friday August 18th in regards to this matter claiming damage to his license plateI asked him if he could come in that day to show the alleged damages and to view our photos that were taken by the tow driver prior to the removal of his
vehicle. He declined to come that day so we had arranged for him to come on Monday August 21. When he called to see if we had impounded his vehicle I told him yes and also told him the reason, which was for expired tags. His car was parked at *** *** which is a private town home community whom we are contracted with to tow any vehicles that are in violation and not in compliance with the HOA parking rules and regulations. After speaking with him and informing him of the expired tags, he never contested it which is why he paid the impound feeHis tags MUST DISPLAY the current date / yearFurthermore, I am not sure how or if his tag cover was even damaged, as I stated, he could not come by and show me, we will see what happens tomorrow.Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:As you can clearly see in the picture I attached to this email my tire has a huge slash on the inner sidewall of the tireIf that was already there then my tire would have been completely flat when they towed itThe picture they took of my vehicle clearly shows that my tire was not flat before they towed itThe picture that they showed me was very dark and the front tire was barely visibleIf the tire was noticeably low to the driver as they stated then why didn't he take a better picture of it to show proof that it was already damagedI have worked for many years with tires and just because a tire looks low does not mean it is low it could just be the way the tire is sitting from when the car was parkedSo unless they actually took out a gauge and checked the pressure they can't say whether the tire was low or notI drove my car off the lot because I had no other choiceThey didn't offer to help me change the tire or even try to put air in itI drove the car less than half a mile to the gas station at the corner and had the mechanic help me change the tireHe even said that the damage came from the toe truck hooking to the tireI spoke to a tow truck driver who has years of experience and even he has told me that a tire can be damaged because the jaws on the tow truck are very strong and if you do it too tight you can blow the tireHe has had to pay for several tires over the yearsI'm not trying to get over on anybody by any meansI was not even upset that my car was towed because I knew there was a possibility because of where I parkedI'm not disputing that at all but I am disputing the fact that not only were they negligent in handling my vehicle and they damaged a brand new that I just had installedThey refused to pay for the damages will I was there I bought the tire back for them to see but the manager had left already and so did the driverI even emailed them the pictures of the tire they never responded so I called them and they told me not to contact them about this issue anymore because it was my fault and my tire was already damagedI should not have to pay for something that they did.

I am not sure why this young lady would be seeking any sort of payment / reimbursementIt was explained to her on that day that there was previous stress to the tire. We also showed her as well as her friend the pictures of the vehicle that were taken prior to the removal of her
vehicle. The pictures clearly showed that the drivers side front tire was deflated!!! After looking at the pictures everyone agreed including her friend, that the tire was deflated. Not to mention, she drove the vehicle off the towing property, so as we stated to her, she added insult to injuryShe was upset that her vehicle was impounded so its typical that she's alleging these damages

I am rejecting this response because:  We have not met to discuss this incident.  An appointment was made for 800 am (which I took time off of work for) and upon my arrival, they were not present.  I called and was only then informed they would not be able to make it and wanted to reschedule later in the day.  I informed them, I could not and rescheduled for Wednesday. The supervisor was adamant that the supervisor and driver must be present and would not discuss the incident without all parties present.  She ask for me to send her photos I send to Revdex.com.  I complied.  Later in the day, She replied that my accusations were bogus and would no longer entertain the complaint.  The photos she provided from the driver at the time of the tow were not accurate depictions of my vehicle or the license plate as he approached or drove by.  In the photos it is clear my parking license are on.  This could only mean the driver had already entered my vehicle and turned them on.  Therefore the photo does not accurately show what my vehicle looked like before he arrived.  A additional photo she provided shows the front of my vehicle in an attempt to show the parking pass was not properly displayed.  However, this photo was taken at a distance and angle in an attempt to not show the parking pass.  You can see a glimpse of the tip of the yellow parking pass in the photo.  The parking pass was in plain view upon walking up to vehicle.  This is why there was never a mention of not displaying the parking pass, because when he walked up to vehicle it was clearly displayed.  In my reply to the supervisor via email, I further requested for any local, county ordinance or state statue giving them authority to enforce Maryland regulations laws and specifically out of state registration laws.  I argued since the beginning that my tags were not expired (which they are not).  It wasn't until much later in the conversation, they brought up the requirement to display current registration.  Again, I am requesting their authority to enforce Maryland registration laws on out of state vehicles.  In reading the provisions of Sec 21-10A -04(A)(5), photographic evidence of the violation or event precipitating the tow have not been met.  The photo taken of the license plate was clearly taken after the vehicle had been entered and lights turned on.  To take the picture at this time is not a precipitation.  It is a result of over aggressive towing practice in which the license plate cover was broken to ascertain the sticker information. The photo I attached (which you could enlarge) shows the condition of the license plate and cover.

Review: I was trying to get my car from the tow yard. When I called the number for the business no one answered. After the automated voice there was a woman's name. After hours of no answer on the phone I got a ride to pick up my car. When I get there two other ladies were there. It was twenty seven degrees outside and the attendant would not let up into the office. Then he started telling us that we were not telling the truth about the phone. He even said we could not talk to each other about our complaints or we would not get our carsDesired Settlement: message on the voice mail identifying the business letting you know that they are open 24 hours for car retrieval

Review: I write to you today to express a situation I encountered this past weekend with Hook Em Up towing. I am a renter and my car was towed from in front of my house on Friday night, early Saturday morning. Upon calling Friday night in order to confirm my car was towed, I was told that the parking permit sticker expired. I spoke with my land lord and she confirmed that the parking permit sticker does not expire until the end of the year. I called the towing company once again and was told that I was parked in a resident space without a valid hang tag. The problem that I'm having with this situation is that about a month ago, someone stole the tag out of my car. My husband called Hook Em Up towing company to see if we could park in the parking lot with just the sticker because that was all we had while we waited for our landlord to pick up a new hang tag. He was told "yes". Our car sat out there for a little over a month and was fine, never towed. I spoke with [redacted] Saturday morning whom said she was the owner and was told that the information my husband provided me was false. When asked what is the policy and why our car was not towed prior to Saturday morning with just the sticker in the window, I was provided multiple excuses and told "as a resident, I must have both the sticker and the hang tag in the window and to consider myself lucky that my car was not towed in the past". [redacted]. [redacted] was not helpful at all and I'm still unsure of the policy considering I was provided multiple reasons for the towing. I feel that Hook Em Up towing will say anything in order to get the consumers money. I paid $175.00 and upon giving **. [redacted] $180.00 was told "she did not have change and I had to go get it". I questioned "why do I have to go and get change" her reply was "it says it on the front door". I told her to keep the change and asked if I could go and get my car. I'm highly upset because I feel that we were set up to pay money.Desired Settlement: I feel that considering we had a resident sticker in the window and that Hook Em up Towing could not provide me something in writing explaining the policy, I should be refunded something.

Review: Upon realizing they towed my car.. called them and asked few question.. they become angry and started throwing words like "i told you ... [redacted] IT ".. as a car owner, my right to know why they towed my car.. and where they took it..

I went to their website.., saw their business hours wAs till 1 am.. we rushed to their location.. I saw a business hour sign open till 1 am... we got there about.. 11:30.. the office was closed.. called customer service.. again.. a very rude and sarcastic answers to my question.. why nobody was in the location.. "a person will be there in 10 mins..." the time passed.. nobody..I called back, "i told you he will be there in 10 mins... [redacted] IT.... " this was about 12:10am... a guy finally came.. started helping us. He asked for the money(cash only) luckily we have cash but if you check there website.. there is a [redacted] and [redacted] card logos meaning they are accepting those.. why???

After we paid.. we went to our car... it was damaged.. the whole passenger side was scratched badly.. he admitted he did it.. we got his info for the insurance..

Now.. this is a family owned business.. who they answer to??? can they talk to their customers like this.. ???keep us waiting on late hours while they say their business is still open?. . put false advertisements to promote their business.. ???Desired Settlement: I want them to apologize and give my money back for the hassle they gave us..
