I rented a 12" chipperWhen the owner reviewed the operation, he discovered to his surprise that the fuel was at 1/tank and had not been filled, as is customaryHis solution was to instruct me to bring the equipment back at the same levelHow does one know exactly how much fuel they will need to chip a pile of wood? So I filled the tank on the way home, made quick work of my wood pile and returned the chipper after only hours of use with more than 3/full tank
Since I spent more than $on fuel, I felt some reimbursement would be reasonableThe owner was not at the store when I dropped the tool off so I asked that he call me to discussNo callWhen I later returned to the store to discuss with the matter with the owner, he immediately dismissed me and repeatedly said "I told you to bring it back at the same level"He had no interest in customer service, doing right by me or recruiting future business
It is important to note that in addition to the poor customer service and sloppy operation, this company rents old and very tired equipment I found this chipper to have several mechanical failings: There was no plug on the end of the trailer hitch wire harness (for the brake lights and turn signal) When I pointed it out, I was told "you don't need that" Don't need safety lights? Pretty sure they are required by law The feed drum was severely worn out such that it did not grab material well requiring that I had to push in some of the material to get it to feed And the control bar for the roller was very difficult to get into gear, also requiring a lot of fussing each time I stopped the machine or reversed direction to get the feed roller to bite
In summary, all around very poor experienceStrongly recommend you take your business elsewhere
