My name is Alec S*** I own Hopewell Pawn & LoanI and replaying to the complaint *** that I received in the mail today 2/23/The purchase that was in question was a chainsaw we sold as isThe damage to the chainsaw was plainly visible and was never in
questionThe parts that were needed to be replaced were less then $*** and we showed him where he could find the partsHe then told us he had no problem doing the work himself. The chainsaw sells used for $***-$***, We had it listed in the shop for $***The gentleman that purchased the chainsaw talked us down to $*** because of the repairs that were neededHe told us he would purchase the saw as long as it ranIt was taken outside and started for him. When the gentleman came back with the chainsaw months later he told us he had taken the chainsaw to *** *** and *** for repairsHe said the repairs were to much and the chainsaw didn't even start now. We are quite fair with our return policy and never had a complaint before this one incidentI would like our record not to be tarnished but we did sell the chainsaw as is and made sure that it would start before the gentleman leftHe had the saw in another companies hands for month before they could tell him what the repairs would be for the saw before bringing back to us. We found the complaint unreasonable because it was sold as is, was operational when it left the store and he had it someone else hands for 6+ months not knowing what could have happened within that time period.
