I, [redacted] and owner of Cutting Edge Lawn Care, am responding to the report filed with the Revdex.com.  I am sorry for any trouble we have caused [redacted].  I have only wanted to help him with cutting his yard.  I also do not believe we have done anything illegal. ...

We began service for [redacted] on September 1st 2015 and cut 3 more times on 9/16, 9/29, and 10/14.  This totaled 4 cuts for a total amount due of $216.52He was supposed to pay his bill after he received it on 9/20.  We cut 2 more times after that believing a payment might be on the way.  On 10/26 we left a message to call us with an update.  No response.  On 10/27 we called for an update and said we were putting service on hold since he had not paid.  [redacted] called back that day and said he just got a job and should get a check soon and can pay the bill then.  I asked him about setting it up on a credit card and he said his card is maxed out.  I said ok and pay as soon as he could.  On 11/13 we called him again, since he still had not paid anything, and he said the check he was suppposed to recieve was sent to the wrong address and hopefully he would send money soon.  On 11/20 he paid in $100 of the $216.52 owed.On 11/21 I called him and asked when he could pay the rest of the bill.    He begged us to please cut and he promised he'd pay us as soon as he got his check from a GI bill.  I said I did not want to cut until the bill was paid.  He then said if we did not trust him to pay, and immediately get out and cut his yard, he would tell all his neighbors and the HOA about what a lousy and awful lawn company we were.  He said in would tell people not to do business with us.  I, [redacted], was shocked at this and found it hard to believe someone in debt to me could be so demanding and would not even try to see things from my point of view.  However I decided 2 thing then-  I decided not to make him mad because the bad publicity would not go well for us and number 2 I told him since he was in the armed forces I would do him a favor and trust him to pay and cut his yard 1 more time.  So we cut it once more on 11/21 so appease him. On 12/2 he paid the bill in full on a credit card.  I asked him if he wanted us to resume cutting the yard and he said yes.  I also told him we would be charging his credit card for any future charges.We cut on 12/8 and immediately charged his credit card for that mow.  He called back very upset and said we should not have charged his card the $54.13 and now he would not have the money to pay other bills(as if ours wasn't a bill).   I told him I would reverse the charge.  I reversed it immediately.  He would not say, however, when he would pay us.  He also asked to have all bills in the future be paid by check and not a credit card.  Against my better judgement I acquiesced and said I would bill him in the future and let him pay by check at his convenience.  On 12/20 when our computer system automatically processes all outstanding credit card charges his went through again.   This is the incident about why he wrote in.  He called upset about this charge going through without his approval.  We looked at our billing system and saw we missed a setting that said to pay be check.  It was truly a mistake and was not supposed to happen.   We refunded the money back to his credit card immediately on the morning of 12/21. As a token of good gesture we told him we would not only NOT charge for the 12/8 mowing we would also NOT charge for the upcoming cutting on 12/24.  He did not ask for these free cuts.  These were my, [redacted]'s, ideas to do to try to smooth things over and go the extra mile.  We live by the Golden Rule- always give more than you receive. As of now on 12/24 his yard was cut at 8:24am for the 2nd of 2 free cuts.  He incidentally wrote in an email on 12/21 at 8:25pm and asked to speak with someone other than [redacted] about the account issue.  He was so adamant about this that he repeated 2 times he did not want to speak with me, [redacted].  I had [redacted], my main manager, call him on 12/22 and explain what happened with the credit card and offer to cut his yard for free 2 times.  I then tried to call [redacted] to apologize.  He did not answer my call.  I left him a voice mail and sent a text message to please call me.  He has not responded as of now at 1:28 pm on 12/24 as I write this.  To summarize I am very sorry we charged him when he was not expecting it.  It was an honest mistake.  I am also sorry we disappointed him.  We have credited back $108.26 to try and make amends.  [redacted] apologized and I, [redacted], have tried to personally apologize for the mistake.   I look forward to working with him in the future if he will have us.  Please let me know what else we can do to make this right.  Thank you,  [redacted], owner of Cutting Edge Lawn Care.  My cell is [redacted] if needed.
