Hello,
*** has been set up to handle the furniture damages, the check for the rug has been mailed to my customer and should have been received by now, the mattress has been or will be repaired by ***, unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the discarded mirror and I have explained this to my customer. I know the furniture repair will take a little extra time because of ***'s pre-scheduled vacation but I am certain all will be completed with complete satisfaction. I do apologize that her move did not go as smooth as it should have and I do apologize that this has taken longer to resolve than it should have. I am also sending a check for $to my customer for the appearance factor of the mended small hole in the side of the mattress. So now to my knowledge, I believe everything has been addressed

CJ and his team were awesome On what was a rather stressful day on account of a delayed settlement on our new home, these fellas kept us laughing, while moving all of our stuff Friendly, courteous, fast, funny, great with our kids and our dog...we never want to move again, but if we do, we'll call Hopkins & Sons I was surprised to find out that this crew of four guys had been working together for over a decade...how do you do that back-breaking work every day for so many years, and keep such a great attitude? Must be a great company to work for!

I did not respond to the 1st letter because I have been in contact with the customer as soon as I returned from vacation.  I do have numerous dates and times that I have spoken with the customer.  We have mailed a check for $350.00 for the carpet repair, [redacted]...

[redacted], Who she wanted) has been out to her home to survey what needs to be done and is scheduling times for the repairs (most of which are not transit related but are really from every day use, [redacted] confirmed this).  We are doing that in the extra step trying to accomplish satisfaction.  The hole in the mattress (again can't see how it is transit related) it is about the size of a pencil top on the side) I have authorized the stitching of that.  I am not replacing the mattress as it is still completely functional.  Besides you put a mattress cover and sheets on it.  I do have pictures of this as well.  With regards to the mirror I specifically asked her to be sure to show [redacted] the damage and we will either repair or replace at his recommendation.  She threw it away before [redacted] got there and now expects us to pay $350.00 for something we didn't have the chance to inspect.  Bottom line is she wants money period for things that are way over exaggerated.  So to sum up, I am in a holding pattern for [redacted] to finalize the repairs and all should be closed out.  Please let me know if there is anything else I should do.

Very unprofessional behavior. Called for a move and was told it would be possible to move us on desired date. And they would send someone out tor estimate. After we gave notice to apt complex - we got a call from Hopkins saying the move could NOT be done. WHAT?? We agreed to have the estimator come out anyway to give a quote ......he NEVER showed up at appointed time by Hopkins & Sons, Inc. When we questioned the reasons why they could not move us as agreed. Their answer was weather. What weather?? We have just moved to this side of the United States and to date....We are regretting every minute. If you listen the the intro when you call them about "personal service" and "customer service" - don't believe it. If these folks could fit in the move....they should have said so UPFRONT.

Review: This story is very long. I will start with hiring Hopkins moving in April after meeting with a man for an estimate. He was very nice and spoke about the good service I would get and he would speak to the guys about taking their time and providing gentle service. He also mentioned how my furniture was covered up to so many thousands (more than I needed) if there were any issues. Well this is where it begins. I had the first crew on April 11th, 2014. They were friendly but extremely rushed and made comments about its Friday we need to get out of here. I bought them lunch that they left all over my lawn. Actual water bottles and pizza crust were scattered across my lawn. The drinks they brought with them in the morning were spilled in my foyer and left for me to clean. This is a very expensive house that I am selling to someone and care for. After that they brought the furniture to my new home where it was placed in the garage for 2 weeks when Hopkins would come back to place it in our home. there was no organization and expensive items were left thrown everywhere. We were so upset the way our stuff was treated I could not even make sense of it for days. Also a few items were going to storage which was planned ahead of time and everyone knew about and was all discussed prior and that morning to the men and still theses items were pilled into my garage and had to be taken out when I saw them to be put back on the truck. Everyone acted like they forgot after we talked about that furniture at least 3 times and they all blame the next person. Fast forward now and its moving day in 2 weeks when a new crew comes and the man for damages since I already saw items in my pile destroyed. He came with the new moving crew and all of them looked at this pile and said I am shocked cant believe your stuff was left like this. I cant believe what happened here. I am so sorry and I will take tons of pictures and show the owner. So the repair man took lots of pictures of the piles and the ripped rug (that I have a [redacted] waiting to be paid for repair), the piles of furniture that looked like garbage, there was a broken mirror (still no one will talk about that). It was endless and I could go on with the list of 12 items seriously damaged that this man is aware of since early May. After all my furniture was moved in he came back to take pictures of those many items and again apologized and said they will take care of it. I told him having someone come to my home and repair on site was not really an option. How could anyone use a touch up marker on a $6,000 dresser, how would you fix a torn mattress, a broken mirror, a torn rug, an antique desk that was completely damaged???? Its wasting time and for the company to save money. This man is also the in house touch up man and he actually made comments to me about my new home " I cant believe you used rounded corners and not square they are so much stronger" this is not appropriate. I take serious pride in my home and my belongings and I am totally horrified with this whole ordeal. I want my items to be taken to furniture repair and there are items like my rug and mirror that had to be replaced already and need to be paid for. This is taking way to long. It took [redacted] weeks to get back to me with a date that he would be out to have my items fixed and he scheduled it the day before which was a bad day but I was so in need I rescheduled everything. When I found out he would be coming to touch up and not having my furniture sent out I canceled and asked many times through email to have the owner call me. I until today have never ever heard from [redacted] or anyone at Hopkins. I called yesterday and someone said the owner is not here but someone will call you. Still no one has ever called me. I have tried at least 4 times. This has gotten out of control and I need help fixing the items Hopkins has taken from me. I want my $2500 refunded so I can fix the items that were most damaged by a professional. If I were to ask for full amount it would be closer to $20,000 to replace what has happened at my home. I truly hope someone is able to finally call me to get this resolved. Last those items in storage who knows if they are ever coming back or the condition they are in. The person who answers the phone at Hopkins is rude and unprofessional. I had a friend who was moving recently and after speaking to her she canceled her move and went somewhere else. My mother who was planning on using Hopkins in July called someone else because she was here to witness my move and she could not believe her eyes. The list does go on and it needs to be handled. Thanks youDesired Settlement: phone call and refund
