Once again, when the delivery was made, no one was home, no one was outside and no animals were outside .We made the delivery the same day it was ordered , in inclement weatherWe have a minimum delivery of gallons without a service chargeThey took gallons and we waived the $delivery feeThey still got the discounted price by mailing in the check .Our only mistake was calling after the delivery and not prior toWe apologize for that error

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. While the issue of the credit card charges appear to be settled, the whole crux of the safety protocol was utterly ignored not once but several times.  This company appears to be proud, and gloating of the fact that they ignored the request for a phone call on every delivery they have made, even though the request to them was made well in advance of delivery and we were assured by the office that those notes were on the delivery orders.  This company seems to forget that they are on private property and not a public thoroughfare to do as they please.  Since, we, the customer, are paying their salaries we have the right to take our business elsewhere, and by the obvious lack of respect for their clients we have terminated all business transactions with a company that lacks proper communication within their own ranks, and total disregard for the disabled.  A word of advice to any potential or current customers is to stay far, far away.

We did indeed make the delivery without calling first. Our truck was in the area and our driver drove up the driveway and made the delivery. The invoice was left in the door. We got a call as to why we didn't call first and I explained that the driver didn' t think he would have enough oil left on...

his truck to make the delivery, but, he did. So the delivery was made. Then he called the office and complained that he didn't get a call first. He also stated that he gave us a credit card number that morning and that he would not be getting his cash discount. I told him to mail in the check for the discounted amount and the credit card would not be charged. He did get his discount just as he would if he was there to pay the driver..His credit card was not charged.

Review: Several months ago, our home oil tank required filling. After telling [redacted] of Hopson Oil in Waukesha that we were in the process of converting to natural gas heating, he advised that we go ahead and purchase a full tank of oil as they would buy back any unused oil when the conversion was completed. Very nice customer service I thought, so I purchased a full tank.

When we got our new gas furnace, we were advised of people willing to come and drain the remaining oil tank for free, but we knew that Hopson would buy it back so we declined. After calling Hopson Oil, they advised that they were currently too busy to pick up and that we would have to wait for business to slow down – understandable (never ending winter). We were anxious but patiently waited. We received a call from the driver of Hopson Oil in April questioning how much oil was in the tank and I advised that it was under a quarter of our tank according to the gauge. The driver came and siphoned 22 gallons and went on his way.

Imagine my surprise when instead of a check for the expected $79, I received an invoice for $122! I called [redacted] to remind him of our conversation, where he promptly told me that they don’t work for free. Apparently 22 gallons was not enough to make it worth their while to come and get it and that he was doing me a “favor”. I wish that I would have been advised on the cost of that favor either by [redacted] or the driver!

Resolution? We were unable to come to an agreement as to who owed whom, so I suggested that I would be willing to right off the $79 I had expected if he would also write off his invoice for $122. He literally laughed me and my suggestion and told me that I am responsible for the invoice and hung up on me before resolving. I have changed my option on their customer service!Desired Settlement: They failed to communicate that there would be a service charge for them coming out. And [redacted] said "we normally dont come out to get anything under 1/4 tank". Well I dont know that, and your employee shouldnt have come to get it then. There are plenty of companies who will come and drain a tank at no charge but not pay you for your oil. At first I wanted my $79 check. But now I just want the $122 invoice to go away and to never have to worry about Hopson Oil ever again.

Response:

When she called , she said she had just under a quarter of a tank. In fact, the guage was on empty. We sent a truck out to pump out her tank and had an hour and a half labor involved. We usually don't even pump out a conversion if we don't do the installation of the gas furnace. The oil on the bottom of the tank is usually black and therefore we dispose of it in our waste oil tank and it gets hauled away. She states that other people would pump it out for free. But,chances are, they wouldn't come out for 22 gallons. Their labor charges would out-weigh the value of the oil. We feel the labor charge is fair. She also stated that she wants her oil back but still refused to pay the labor charge. I told her she can come and get her oil back.
