[redacted] purchased a beautiful , healthy, well-trained registered Quarter Horse mare from us named *** The fact that she was all of those things at the time Ms [redacted] purchased her is very well documented on our website in both photos and videos (and there are many more not on the site)Various people rode [redacted] almost daily on all types of terrain, again as is shown in the various photos and videosWhen Ms [redacted] came to meet [redacted] she rode her at a walk, trot, and canter, and said she had never felt so safe on a horse That ride was at both the barn and out on the trailIn fact, we have emails and several pictures and videos from Ms [redacted] attesting to what a great horse she wasThat is why it is especially painful to read Ms [redacted] ’s complaint and to see her refer to [redacted] as ‘a lemon’ We corresponded with Ms [redacted] prior to her visit about [redacted] and had a very long conversation at the time of her visit about [redacted] and what Ms [redacted] was looking for in a horseWe will not sell a horse merely because the potential buyer is willing to pay the asking priceWe need to know that the are a good match To her credit, Ms [redacted] was much more thorough in her questions about [redacted] than most interested parties, and this impressed us As she could not take [redacted] home with her right away, we continued our correspondence between her visit and when she picked [redacted] up, during which time she asked for my farrier’s name and phone number, my veterinarian’s name and phone number and ***’s original owner’s name and phone numberShe spoke with the vet who testified to ***’s health and Ms [redacted] ’s farrier spoke to our farrier who testified to ***’s soundness and they discussed how [redacted] was best trimmed It is absolutely not true that “it was very belatedly told to me that she was best with wearing shoes” [redacted] was wearing shoes the day Ms [redacted] rode her as we were going out on the trail where we would encounter rocks on the wayWe showed Ms [redacted] how to put the boots on and explained that we considered that a better choice than shoes as she was very good barefooted, except where there were rocks or rocky terrainIn fact, we sent the shoes home with Ms [redacted] when she came to pick [redacted] upThe Easyboot is merely an alternative to shoes, as their website and the many riders who use them will attest toTheir use is certainly not an indication of lameness Upon picking [redacted] up and taking her back to Madison, Ms [redacted] did not originally board [redacted] at [redacted] Equestrian Center, but rather at a friends farm, where Ms [redacted] complained of the conditions, including [redacted] having to stand in wet muck and mud [redacted] may have arrived at [redacted] lame, but she did not leave our farm lameWhen Ms [redacted] told me she would be moving [redacted] to [redacted] EquestrianCenter I was at first taken by the beauty of the facility, but upon learning of the trouble she was having with [redacted] we encouraged her to find a facility with open pasture boarding rather than a box stall and paddockWe also on several occasions encouraged her to consult a natural hoof care specialist, even sending her names of barns offering pasture board and names of natural hoof-care specialists in her area This is documented in various emails, which went largely ignored by Ms [redacted] We were very very concerned about the path she had undertaken in ***’s treatment, and even though ***’s condition continued to deteriorate while at [redacted] , Ms [redacted] was insistent in her reliance on her expertsSo I emphatically deny that Ms [redacted] tried everything to get her to turn aroundClearly she did notIn fact, her use of the words that she ‘tried to get her to turn around’ is very telling in that [redacted] was not lame when Ms [redacted] picked her up at our farm Ms [redacted] ’s assertion that ‘She never offered to come down to Madison nor offer to buy her back’ is absolutely falseAs is documented in the many emails between Ms [redacted] and us, we did discuss coming to Madison as well as [redacted] returning to usMs [redacted] wanted to know that if for any reason she could not continue to care for [redacted] if she could count on us to care for herWe assured her that [redacted] was always welcome back with us and that we would keep her and care for her as long as was necessaryThen, in January, Ms [redacted] sent me an email in which she says she thinks it best that [redacted] comes back to us and that she does not want her money backI assured her that [redacted] was always welcome back, but we wanted to make sure that is what Ms [redacted] really wanted Lastly, we would like to point out that in putting [redacted] down without 1st allowing us to come and get her, she is in violation of the contract she signed upon purchasing her giving us Right of First RefusalMs [redacted] had an obligation to inform us of her decision to destroy [redacted] so that we could have had the opportunity to go and pick her upWe absolutely would have gone to get her had we been given the opportunity, and would have been happy to give Ms [redacted] her money back even though [redacted] was sound upon leaving our barnThere is no doubt in our minds that [redacted] would have made a full recovery upon removing the shoes Ms [redacted] had put on her and returning her to a natural, healthy environment, as has been documented in many cases by many natural hoof-care specialists

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[redacted], I did not criticize you, I factually stated
what the credentialed professionals here in Madison said to me.  What are your credentials [redacted] other than
your books?  How many horses do you have
experience with?  Over how many years?  Are you certified by Wisconsin for anything?  Did you get a doctorate in anything related
to equines?
I am stating the facts.  And the fact is your daughter started the
personal attacks.  She said these horrid
things to me because she had a parent who taught her daughter that attacking
people personally via social media is ok.
Do not blame the child, this is all about your influence on her young
mind and as an adult parent for her as a primary role model.  This is a prime example of why we have
problems with children bullying on the internet.  Own it.
As far as anything else I've stated,
they are all statements from credentialed professionals who specialize strictly
in the horse field who diagnosed the horse and the situation.  I have submitted all of [redacted]'s medical
history to the Revdex.com.  The conclusion is
that she had much, much worse of a condition than "long in the toe".  You can keep saying these things over and
over which you have, it won't make them true.
It is interesting that you put [redacted] up for sale not 6 months past the
diagnosis.  Suspicious.
FACT:  I did not have a farrier to call your farrier
at the time of [redacted]'s purchase.  You made
sure she was trimmed prior to my arrival.
As you know, and as I sent you a video of [redacted] and [redacted]'s
property, there wasn't any muck or mud.
[redacted] and [redacted] own 4 Lakes Plumbing, and are reputable business
owners.  They keep their property in
pristine condition.  Plus, they live on a
hill overlooking the valley.  Really
[redacted]?  You know I moved because I did
not like their dog situation and had been bitten at the property.  Their horse did not have thrush, and they
were very upset with you that this is how [redacted] came to their property.  Their horse did not have nor never had
thrush.  [redacted] set up all appointments
with the farrier for the two horses, hers and [redacted].  [redacted], [redacted]'s farrier, determined the thrush and
additionally did not call your farrier prior to my purchasing [redacted] being that I
did't even have her number until she came out for the trim and found the thrush.  You even offered to pay for the
medicine.  Even if the farrier were to
have called, she was given incomplete information just like I was.  [redacted] and [redacted] can be reached at
FACT:  I did not call the vet prior to [redacted]'s
purchase.  You told me she was "long
in the toe" period.  As seen by the
attached bill from your vet, she had long
overgrown hooves, underrun heels, irregular growth lines, and flared hooves.  The final determination says navicular syndrome.  That is a long way away from "long in
the toe", and if I would have seen this prior to buying [redacted], I would have
not purchased [redacted].  Why did you not
accompany this with her papers?  You were
so quick to show and share with me her breeding, but you wouldn't show me this
paperwork?  Why else except you were
trying to manipulate the situation to your advantage.  I also think that the citing of [redacted]'s
condition by your vet of her feet at the date proves that you were not
providing appropriate care for her.
Additionally, she was put down SOLELY for her lameness with exactly the
feet he indicates.
I am in the process of locating
those phone records to show when I called your vet which was when I moved [redacted]
to [redacted].  That happened in
February/March 2013.  Thus began the
unraveling of the puzzle of what was really wrong with [redacted].  You could have saved me that heartache as you
say you were so concerned about.  I kept
asking you to come down so you could see with your own eyes.  I offered money for you to come down.  [redacted] offered her home for you to stay
at.  [redacted] and [redacted] can be reached at ###-###-#### to confirm all the above.
Your words mean nothing anymore, I
just don't want this to happen to anyone else.
Not only did I spend $4500 on a lame horse, but I also spent well over
$3000 for her vet and farrier bills in the small year I got to have her.  I haven't even asked for the whole amount of everything I lost.  Big picture, I was lied to, shown that you
were not a person of your word and not trustworthy and [redacted] proved it and you can see that it all from her diagnosis's
after the myriad of tests that were run on her.  And you won't even meet me half way and continue to diagnosis from emails.  Not acceptable.
Dr. [redacted] from [redacted]
Equine can be reached at ###-###-####.
Their website is www.[redacted]equine.com.
Ken [redacted], my farrier at [redacted], can be reached at ###-###-####.  [redacted], Barn Manager and [redacted],
owner at [redacted] Equestrian [redacted] can be reached at ###-###-#### for any
questions/confirmations on this matter.
Lastly, I have included your contract that you so adamantly states that you would buy [redacted] back in any condition.  It states you had "first rights on her if I were to put her up for sale" period.  She was not in saleable condition.   I would never do to someone, even my worst enemy what you did to me.  Yes, [redacted] and I both did suffer your decisions.
Regards,
[redacted]

Again, we disagree.  Yep, you told me AFTER I bought [redacted] and I was moving her to a  new facility.  Again, you have not answered and at this point refuse to answer the question as to why I did not get a copy of your vets bill and diagnosis at the time you showed me all her other paperwork of breeding when I was first looking to buy her?  And yes, my mother was there to ascertain that fact.  At this point it goes to show resoundingly we are at an impasse.  Just as I didn't get your vets notes till AFTER I bought [redacted].  The diagnosis specifically state "navicular syndrome" period.  It is a statement of record.  Your "recollection" of your conversation with the vet or any discussions with [redacted] or [redacted] is merely hearsay.  This is at an impasse, and everyone will have to tell the truth in front of judge under oath.

As I stated to [redacted]'s daughter after she started her email assaults on me that I was mentally ill after [redacted] was put down, was that my ups and downs were my hopes going up and down.  I tried to explain to a 19 year old know it all that I would be on a high with optimism that maybe [redacted] had turned a corner, and then would come crashing down in frustration when she would come up lame again.  Not good enough...  I was to be further assaulted to the point where I had to send her a cease and desist from the abusive emails that were being sent to me for the decisions I made for MY horse through much counsel.  That was the problem with [redacted] from the start, one day she would be good.  I would come out the next time, and she would be lame.  I was accused and blamed for wrecking her because I put her in a top notch facility at [redacted] Equestrian Center (one of top two boarding facilities in Dane County) where they were out pastured all day, and only came in at night.  As always, they know better than any credentialed veterinarian, farrier, breeder, trainer, or boarding professionals.  If that professional did not see it with their belief system, they weren't to be believed or trusted.  [redacted] doesn't believe in vaccinations of any sort whether it is for humans or horses.  This became an eye opener as well for everyone.  I actually was told by "the schooled professionals" that they would rather have [redacted] be put down than to send her back to live a life that Good Manners would provide.  They said they would rather put their OWN animal down (which they all have horses) than to send her back to a place that was going to keep her in the pain she was in.  All the people around me did not want to see any of this happen for either [redacted] or I.  They wanted me to continue to have my horse I so long waited for.  I love how the emails that showed the times I was up and happy when [redacted]'s condition was good, but not the ones where I was truly struggling.  Every professional said I tried every avenue and went far and beyond what many other people would have.  It is always hard to put an animal, a pet, a member of the family down.  Thanks for showing those emails [redacted], because it showed how much I was in a struggle to do best by [redacted].  You know she came with thrush from your facility, which is documented at both facilities.  She did not stand in muck and dirt at the original farmstead, it was at yours.  As always, no matter how you are approached, it is a dead end.  One vision, and yours is always the right one.  Shame on you for not being open to other's thoughts and perspectives and education, and then to stand in such pious judgment.  A very scary combination indeed as I have found out.
Regards,
[redacted]
