I am responding directly to Dee.  Dee, I am not a lawyer.  I did not completely understand the "validity" of the contract you are referring to.  I assumed the contract was effective as of  October 1 and that a 30 day notice is effective once someone starts to board there.  I never boarded there.  Kansas never set foot on the property so this is where the confusion lies.  At this point, I will just write off the loss of the $120.00 as a learning experience.  You have a beautiful barn.  The only reason I decided not to board there was because after giving it more practical thought, I decided I could not afford it.  I would not have lasted too long doing the work 2 days a week in order to pay $380.00 instead of $500.00.   I do not live around the corner.  Between the gas and the one to one and one-half hours of time I would have had to devote, I decided that would not work.  I think I may have mentioned to you that my boyfriend and I have a trailer at the shore and we are away a lot during the summer.  So what would  I have done then.  I also retired a couple of years ago and try to live off social security.  I'm lucky I can even afford to keep my horse.  He is the love of my life and brings me more enjoyment than anyone will ever know.  I could not have afforded the $500.00 a month board.  So, it was only due to my money situation that I tried to get my deposit back and the reason I could not board there.  I agree I should have given it more serious thought in the first place.

November 4, 2016To Whom It ConcernPlease be advised I am answering the following complaint to the Revdex.com. ID: [redacted])[redacted] [redacted] did indeed give me a deposit for $120.00 on September 7, 2016. What [redacted] neglected to mention was a contract she signed after Sept. 7th and returned...

to me for board beginning on October 1, 2016. The contract clearly states that "a 30 day notice must be given to Horse Show Affiliates if you wish to break the contract. A 60 day notice is requested."[redacted] [redacted] deposit check was cashed after receiving her signed contract with the balance of $380.00 due on Oct 1, 2016.The Ad for boarding was removed several days later from the website upon receiving the deposit check. Proof of any further advertisement after September 10, 2016 does not exist for that stall. Other clients were told the stall was no longer available.[redacted] [redacted] Stated on September 20, 2016 that there were no trails available without crossing a country road. On September 21, 2016, a 6 hour work day was given to cutting riding trails in the back woods so that no country (paved) road would have to be crossed solely for [redacted]'s convenience. Later that day I received a phone call telling me that she would not be coming to the barn. She was then told about the work that had been done to make the trails. She stated she wanted to see the trails and would come the following morning. The morning of September 22, 2016 received a text saying that she once again had changed her mind and would not be coming to board.[redacted] [redacted] contacted me while I was out of the country and requested the return of her deposit, along with treats to Sue me by contacting the Attorney General and complaining to the Revdex.com.Desired Outcome:[redacted] [redacted] pay the balance of the S500.00 contract, less the $120.00 deposit, in the amount of $380.00 for her breech of contract and excess work that had to be done to the farm on her behalf.Dee J.
