Thank God for their help and the loving care they give
My husband had diabetes, vascular disease, needed his aortic valve replaced, pancreatic cancer, constant pain from his spine and dementia. I cared for him myself until I landed in the hospital while he was in the same one. I needed open heart surgery when he was being discharged from the hospital my daughter had him transferred first to a skilled nursing center (terrible care) and it was obvious he needed better, more pesonal care. She transferred him to a group home and it was a lifesaver. While there we had him put under the care of Hospice of the Valley. The nurse was wonderful, the group home was like being in a comfortable house with people who always interacted with the residents. When any help or change in pain medication was needed Hospice responded quickly and were very kind and thoughtful to myself and my daughters. Only 2 weeks after I got out of the hospital my husband passed away. I can't say how grateful I am to Hospice of the Valley.

In response to Mrs. P[redacted] complaint to the Revdex.com, I called Mrs. [redacted] immediately to hear her out and we spoke for 15 minutes about her frustrations with us.  I assured her the bills and the follow up she received were totally inappropriate and she does not owe Hospice of the Valley...

anything but that we owe her an apology and compensation for all the time she has spent on this. She declined that idea  and I offered to make an HOV and a personal donation to her husband’s favorite charity which I have done – an HOV and a personal donation of mine have been made online to the H[redacted] (Payson). Although this (Revdex.com complaint) has not happened before in my memory, I am pleased Mrs. [redacted] took that step.  It makes us better. Sincerely,Susan L[redacted] Executive Director

Review: My 87 year old husband was under hospice of the valley care after falling and breaking his neck. On July 4th, he would try to walk, resulting in his falling. Ii called the hov to see if I could admit him tow a hov facility under respite care. He was admitted under respite care on the afternoon of July 4,2015, and died in the hov facility on July 5, 2015.

I was sent a bill for $400.00 to cover the cost of respite care, even though he died, hov said he didn't meet Medicare guidelines for dying. And I was responsible for this bill. I have tried to work with them, our family doctor of 25 years wrote a letter to them to no avail. On oct. 227, 2015, I called Medicare to see if they could help me. I was told by Medicare that Medicare does cover respite care and hov had not submitted a bill to them. I refuse to pay this bill since Medicare told me thou was wrong in telling me the coding could not be changed and to pay the $400.00. My call to them on the 27th gave me the answer I was responsible and they would not bill Medicare. I find this totally disgusting with the their little slogan of not for profit but for caring. I will once again try to resolve this issue but in the future, I will tell everyone who is a neighbor at a [redacted]acility where I live to not use hospice of the valley. ..thank you for reading this complaint. If I knew who regulated hospice companies in Arizona, I would file a complaint with that agency. My desire is to not have to pay for this bill. And to think, the late senator [redacted] wife headed up this organization!Desired Settlement: Hospice of the valley will submit a bill to Medicare, resolving this issue. That is all I ask
