She signed an agreement contract that states no refunds after check in Did she not read what she signed? She is aware of our blanket shelf She was offered to stay the days in the future to make up for days she did not use At check out she lied and tried to manipulate our front desk supervisor in to giving her the money back by saying "James approved my refund." How do you trust a review where a person just lies to get a few dollars back??

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Owner lies about me signing a contract: I did not sign anything and was NOT explained about no refund policy [redacted] was quick to collect my cash for three days forward thoughOf course I tried to get my money back from the supervisor because preciously I was given a word by [redacted] over the phone that if there to be a change in my plans I'd be able to cancel with no problemI can't believe he has the nerve to call this lying and manipulationEspecially because I did not know about no refunds.I kindly tried to resolve it with him saying that I came to town for work and did not have extra money to throw away on the nights I did not spend at the hostelThe cloths he calls blankets are absolutely laughable for the inhumane cold they expect people to sleep in! His whole business practice and integrity are highly questionableIn fact, a city inspection should be sent to this hostel to inspect the despicable conditions they charge money for Regards, [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Dear Revdex.com
This is all a bunch of lies from the business, and by the way:
.- I am still waiting for that HD security camera supporting all this lies
.- I have received emails from the business full of irony, *** and *** sentences and threats, what is unacceptableI detail some:
october 2014, from ***
" I am now looking at your passport and your face shows a very fair and kind person"
october 2014, from ***
" I will meet you head on (quid pro quo)"
"You are a bully"
" I want your world to know about you, i.eall the appropriate engineering societies, and potentially anyone who deals with you."
Response in Revdex.com
"What kind of man (any man much less *** men) would let a petite *** ***l carry his luggage???"
I will structure this answer by parts, addresing racism from the business, lies and unnaceptable answers
1.-
It does not matter whether I am "***" and my friend is "***" or any other nationalityI am *** and my friend is ***I do not need to hear racist statements from anybody, I am complaining because this "business" took my $** deposit, which is MY money2.-
This "*** ***", as the hostel describes my friend, is ** years oldShe helped me because she wanted, something the business staff did notAnyway, they could say "please, do not help him, you are not allowed to go upstairs" and they didn'tIn any of the cases, I do not consider somebody helping me with my bagagge as "taking visitors to your room", as that is why I am complainingEven more after racist and chauvinist statements from the business.
3.-
I am not begging for $**, as the "business" tries to make you believePrior to this hostel I was at *** *** and spend $*** for nights (see statement from hotel), so you could guess money is not the problemLater on I booked this (disgusting) "hostel", private room to spare my baggageMy baggage includes my computer (see *** invoice, $***) and other stuff I bought in USA (see also *** invoice, $***)It makes barely $*** approx., without going into detail on other stuff, like clothes, etc.
4.-
The "hostel" acted dishonestly, and they know itThey continue doing it, as I get threats on my email.
Regards,*** ***

Hi [redacted]:
Fine talking to you this afternoon. Following is our We looked at our HD security camera footage and the girl did not carry anything other than her purse. What kind of man (any man much less [redacted] men) would let a petite [redacted] carry his luggage??? We have staff that would have helped him. He could have made two trips (which the camera shows that he did). [redacted] makes it a point to broadcast that he got a private room just to store his luggage. But his employers and associates will soon know that he lies, blackmails, resorts to extortion to just get $[redacted] back. He signed a contract, stating that he would not bring anybody upstairs, or he would lose his deposit. His signature states that he understood the house rules which includes no guest upstairs. He brought the girl up twice after the first time we told him again at the front desk. He walked out of the lobby with her and immediately went upstairs. His employers must know that he does not follow orders and will lie about it.

Review: October 9th, I checked in this hostel for two nights. I booked a [redacted], even when I was travelling alone. I paid USD [redacted] for two nights. USD ** online, using [redacted] and USD ** cash, at the front desk. Additionally, I paid another USD ** deposit, also cash at the front desk.I was not provided with a bill for any of this concepts, by the way.The day I checked out, the guy at the reception kept my deposit, stating I bring somebody up into my room. Reality is that a partner from a conference I attended to in [redacted] helped me moving my baggage from the lobby to my room. She took one piece of my baggage, we moved it upstairs and I locked the door and leave. Because of this, an always according to the hostel, they kept my deposit. What is really funny is that I was with the guys of the front desk when this happened, but nobody said anything about. I am complaining from what is an abbusive policy, in order to get my deposit refunded plus a compensation for this madness.Desired Settlement: I want my deposit back plus a compensation for this madness.

Response:

Hi [redacted]:

Review: This is with regards to my transaction with Hostel on 3rd in San Diego. I arrived to check in at that hostel on December 31st at around 5:30pm. I then decided to prepay for three nights (although my reservation was only for December 31st). I decided to pay cash because they have a $5 transaction fee for credit/debit cards that was stated on a paper at the register. The rate was: $:35 for December 31st, $25 for January 1st, $25 for January 2nd, and a $20 refundable deposit.

As I handed over $105 in cash to the receptionist [redacted], he did not mention that they have a no refund policy after check-in. Previously, when I had called [redacted] to make a reservation and he took my credit card number, I asked him about cancellation policy and whether there'd be a charge if in any case if I'd need to cancel. He assured me that if anything were to come up I would be able to cancel without a problem.

After spending my first night at the hostel I realized the conditions were completely uninhabitable due to incredible cold in the room. The hostel had "blankets" provided but they were thin cloths rather than anything resembling a blanket or a comforter. I made it through the night barely getting any sleep even though I was sleeping wearing my t-shirt, cardigan, sweatshirt, wool jacket and a scarf (!), and in the morning decided to seek other accommodations rather than staying for the other two nights.

The next morning I went to the reception desk to check out and return my key. [redacted] was not there. The other two employees told me they would not be able to refund me and showed me a printed copy of a "no refund after check-in" policy which I was seeing for the first time. They proceeded giving me back the $20 refundable deposit and advised me to contact [redacted] after 12pm since these were "his rules".

[redacted] told me he was not the one making the money decisions and would call his manager [redacted]. He then claimed that [redacted] didn't return his calls and refused to issue the refund.Desired Settlement: Refund in the amount of $50
