Review: Hostmysite.com has damaged our website and has not made any attempts to repair it or give us our original files so that we can move to another provider. After Hostmysite.com preformed an upgrade to their hosting servers our website has become unusable. Several calls to the company has identified their actions as the root cause of the failure but no action by them to rectify the damage has been made. Our company has lost and continues to lose thousands in revenue due to this outage. Hostmysite.com will not even provide us with the original database or our website files to that we can properly move them to another hosting provider. This company has not returned support emails, phone calls and their management has refused to address the issue directly with us. Despite us being a customer for more then five years, this company has completely failed to provide customer service on any level.Desired Settlement: We would like Hostmysite to 1. Provide us with our website files and database. 2. FIX our website so that it works the same as it did on or before 3/1/15. 3. Refund us the entire month of March hosting services. 4. Pay us $1000 for every day our website has been down in compensation for our lost revenue. Currently at $6000.

Review: The company hosted my website for several years. All of a sudden about a year ago, our website started to be hacked every few days. My web developer worked with the technicians to figure out what the problem was. They told him that we needed to install security tools and we tried a number of different tools. The problem got progressively worse and the site was being hacked almost on a daily basis. As soon as we restore, it would be down again. This costed me a lot of money not just in installing various tools and paying the web developer for the hours he spent trying to fix a problem we couldn't figure out, but also money that we couldn't quantify due to a website that was not functional. Finally the web developer insisted that we move to another hosting company and we've never had a problem since we moved. We've repeatedly told the technical people at hostmysite that we believe their system was compromised but they kept on denying it. Finally on 17 May 2013 I signed up with another company and moved my website. As I said, we haven't had a single problem since then. Hostmysite uses servers that are easily compromised or has even worse problem, but they've refused to admit it. They've gone even further and have refused to refund the $108.78 they charged my credit card on 6 June 2013, almost a month after I moved my website to another hosting company.Desired Settlement: Provide an honest answer to why we experienced so much problem for months and also issue a refund for $108.78 immediately.

Our servers are secure and it was told to this client that their site was the only site to ever get compromised on this server. We provided them with logs showing that their user logged in and made changes to their site and all security of their web application is their our responsibility. We also stated that their request to have us tell them how they were compromised was outside the scope of support.

Customers that sign-up with HostMySite can see our scope of support here: http://www.hostmysite.com/support/scope/index.shtml

We specifically pointed out this particular section of our scope of support…

· Scripts & Applications. We are not capable of reviewing source code, or assisting with the development of your website or application. You are responsible for the installation and operation of any and all scripts and applications. You are responsible for maintaining the latest version of any and all scripts and applications necessary for your site to work properly. We are not capable of determining reasons for sites that become compromised.

During this compromise, we also went ahead and restored data for them at no additional cost. This is also going above and beyond as we also address this in our Scope of Support…

· Data Backup. You are responsible for maintaining current backups of your data. We maintain our own backups in the event of a disaster; however, we do not guarantee the availability or restoration of any lost data. Should you request a restore of any lost or corrupt data, should it exist, a fee of $35.00 will automatically be charged to your account. In the event the lost data was the fault of HostMySite.com, we would waive any associated restore fees.

Per our Terms of Service, we offer a 30-day money back guarantee on the original hosting date. We do not offer pro-rated refunds. Customers are aware they receive discounts if they sign up for longer periods. We show that their were earlier compromises that the client had to send to their developer to fix the site.

To rectify this situation, we will offer a refund from the date of cancellation of October 22nd, 2013. This will be a refund of roughly $72.56.

We hope that you see this as a resolution to these open cases.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Please send the refund check in the amount of $72.56 to

Do not attempt to put the refund back on the credit card because that account has been closed.

Review: Hostmysite hosts our business website. The site is CONSTANTLY going down. I've contacted them at least 20 times as the site goes down every week, sometimes daily. They keep telling me that they've fixed the problem but my site is always down. I do not have a large or complicate website so this should not be a problem. They are now telling me that I should buy a different plan that would cost hundreds of dollars a month more. They say that websites written in ColdFusion don't do well in a shared environment. So why then do then offer it, only to push to upgrade me to the more expensive plan????Desired Settlement: I want our website up and running on a consistant basis and I also want a significant refund since we've had to dedicate so much time into this issue and that the site has been down so much.
